I liked the location.
I was left with the feeling that the people were not really in a good head space. Maybe the place is poorly managed, maybe the people are not treated as they should be, maybe they are not motivated, I really don't know. But it was a feeling that I had from my arrival, from the limited time that I spent in the bar, to the time I spent in the breakfast area, and to the time of my departure. The only person that I saw smiling in fact was the cleaning lady. I think you have some work to do here. I need a good hotel in Leatherhead, but I won't be returning.
No one available to help with luggage. I had to carry cases including work equipment up to my room. I am 72 years old female with some mobility difficulties. Also the bed was very poor uncomfortable could feel springs. The carpet in bedroom was worn in places where there were joins. Dinner was not great, bland, not good value.
The décor and building especially the windows
Not many other guests
Single bed, wifi drooping out
I lost some medication which was found when they cleaned the room. the staff contacted me and I was able to collect it. I really appreciated the effort they made to contact me.
I had warned the hotel that I needed a gluten free diet but they only had enough gluten free bread for toast for 2 of the 3 days I stayed there. this sounds a little petty but I would have brought my own bread if this was a problem!
Good place for a lone female traveler.
The fact that the hotel will be closed by the end of the year.
The location, quiet accomodation, suitably furnished and very clean Well stocked Bar Varied menu for Diningroom
Unable to open the windows for some ventilation.None existent shelf space in the Bathroom.T.V. intruding into dressingtable .
The Bedroom was above the dance room and was extremely noisy We were unable to sleep due to the noise and the guests banging doors until 4am
quiet relaxed atmosphere , friendly staff
quality of buffet breakfast
The staff were amazing. Clearly a dedicated workforce for which nothing was too much. The chef was excellent, the bar man & receptionist were also outstanding. There were one or two others in the bar area and it was very friendly.
The closing of the bar at 11 was a bit of a downer, but hey-ho! A good time was had by all
Location was peaceful, When I asked the bar girl for a gin & tonic, she hadn't a clue where the gin was - not a good start! The gardens were excellent, like belonging to a country house. The Manager ( ? ) did his best to make our stay enjoyable.
The beds were VERY small ( certainly in Room 15 ). Disappointed with the prawns ( more like shrimps! ) and hotel felt it might have been up for sale ie 'tired'.
the receptionist was immensely helpful and friendly.
Well, Sat. nights are a bit noisy, but once you know that, one can adapt.
Clean room and bed linen.Had to ask for a second pillow
Room smelt of damp.Breakfast was poor no fruit available limited choice.Hot water for tea was only warm.Poor table service.
While this Hotel was handy enough our stay was for one night only as we were attending a funeral . The staff on reception were friendly but the Manager could do with a course in customer relations,he was quiet argumentative about our booking we booked two double rooms for three people and the rooms only had towels for one in each room on bringing this to the attention of reception staff he the manager arrived from the back reception and was quiet rude. Also the toilet did not flush properly, reported same not much joy. End of rant won't be back Thanking you Mary Lewis
STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, ROOM SERVICE WAS FINE AND THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT
NOTHING REALLY, ALTHOUGH I WOULD HAVE LIKED TO BE ABLE TO ORDER MY PREFERRED DAILY NEWSPAPER
We only had one night but it was a nice greeting from the reception. The bedroom was very comfortable with a nice view over the gardens. The morning staff were very helpful and the breakfast was very good. Enjoyed the short stay.
I can't say in 200 characters. Nothing to complain about.
This place is in a nice quiet area with beautiful surroundings. The hotel's own gardens are lovely and the staff are great too. The meals were very good and the all round atmosphere was very pleasant. I went for a short getaway and couldn't have asked for a better setting. The only thing that would have made it top class for a retreat would be if they had spa facilities, but as a hotel it was lovely.
It did get a little cold in the room, but I expect they just don't turn on the heating in August which would normally be fine but it has been a bit colder this year. I was also slightly disappointed that I had to take my own tray down a few hours after ordering room service, but then I guess they couldn't have known when I was done. All in all though, it really was a lovely stay.
Happy, friendly staff. A beautiful building with picturesque grounds, in a lovely, quiet location. Great food, especially the breakfast, included in the room price!
Location good in lovely grounds rooms just big enough and clean
The breakfast let it down they give you a menu but what you see is what you get one piece of bacon one sausage but after we ate we notice people were ordering extra pieces.
We had a reasonable size bedroom with a very good TV set and nice views of the attractive grounds.
The twin beds were rather on the hard side. The breakfasts were distinctly average with no choice of fresh fruit on the Sunday morning of our stay. We also felt the shower over the bath was an accident waiting to happen. There was no handrail attached to the bath and no ant-slip mat was provided. Overall, the Hotel gave to us the impression of being in need of substantial reinvigoration.
Friendly staff, clean rooms
Terrible food, don't go for breakfast! Threadbare carpets
Coffee at breakfast and insulation poor in rooms.
First impression: lovely friendly welcome. Beautiful room overlooking fabulous grounds. Gourmet menu offered but didn't want a full meal.... maybe next time if a good deal is offered. This hotel could be really classy with some good marketing. So much potential being wasted.
Just got comfortable when the disco started. A call from reception asked if I had been informed of the disco: not told about that. I was offered an alternative room which turned out to be no better as noisy party-goers congregated on the patio outside my room. The buffet breakfast was disappointing - hot water for making my own tea was in a flask - no choice of fruit - only one slice of toast offered - fried eggs were overdone and rubbery.
* Over-30s disco underneath the rooms, meaning our room was bouncing with loud music until 1am. * Drunk people wandering down the halls banging on doors and shouting after the aforementioned disco. (Hotel can't divorce itself from the disco - if it's going to take the money from the event, it should ensure guests aren't troubled by drunks and loud music). * Poor attitude of the very rude manager.
Room and service
Noise but was warned as disco that night
