The beds are a dream to sleep in. Everything is clean, tidy and well presented. Staff are very helpful
Rooms lovely and clean and comfortable. Staff really friendly and helpful
Exterior appearance bit dated
the rooms were very comfortable and nicely done up we had room at the front but we personally had no issues with noise or comfort of the beds Very handy to the bus which was great to travel around when did not have a car. we were quitehappy with our stay im sure when they complete further renovations it will be better it is after all a pub
rooms could do with compendium of the local attractions.Did have similar experience with breakfast as others in that not sure what available and procedure to get alternatives to full breakfast not huge, customer service skills could just be brushed up on a little. Given a card with number to contact at night for emergency didnt see a phone if you didnt have a mobile
Very clean! Bus stop right outside the door!
Bedrooms very good but could do with a chair
Dining room in pub is in need of a complete redecoration and a deep clean on dining room chairs. Meals subject to availability A printed breakfast menu would be of help
Breakfast Spotless Comfy bed Friendly staff
Absolutely spotlessly clean, very friendly and accommodating staff, great choice of food on site, great value and tastes great, too. Just minutes from the mainland ferry with plenty of parking space. Surprisingly quiet, too - even for weekend nights.
What was there was fantastic. As an ultra runner having just completed a 56km run I was desperate for a bath so I did miss that. And I do wish more places would leave mugs with kettles rather than tiny tea cups which are hardly worth the effort :)
room clean and comfortable but could be made better by adding a chair and dressing table or at least a mirror in the bed room.
service slow seems to be lacking experience.
Clean room. Lovely breakfast Comfortable bed Good location
Cramped toilet space Several light bulbs not working Window lock not working
A really nice b&b, which is extremely well presented. The rooms are clean and cosy. There is a very nice feel about the place. The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Very handy for Osborne House and Cowes ferry.
Room clean and recently decorated.
There was some noise from the bar but as the room was on top floor it was bearable. The breakfast was poor. No menu so didn't know what was on offer. Service was polite. Difficult to know what to order as it was a case of 'what do you want' ?
The room was really nice and recently refurbished. Shampoo and body wash available.
It's a shame that the rest of the building wasn't nice at all...doggy pub on the ground floor, I didn't even have breakfast there as I didn't really like the place. Also a lot of noise from someone else's toilet at night and people talking under my window. On arrival they gave me a form to complete with the option of a morning call, but then they didn't even bother to wake me up (why asking then?!). No hairdryer available anywhere.
bedroom is lovely and a luxury. the staff are friendly and helpful.
restaurant. have to keep asking for service such as cereals, butter etc. disappointed with no subtitles on tv.
1) the location: bus stop right outside gave us connections to other bus routes; Osbourne house historic site right across the street 2) food was well-prepared; breakfast was "anything you want" 3) very friendly, helpful staff 4) room was nice -- not spacious, but comfortable and clean
1) 2 seniors in 3rd floor room with no elevators 2) room faced very noisy street -- we sleep soundly, but this might bother others 3) no restaurants/eateries within reasonable walking distance
Well located opposite Osborne House and with Bus Stop outside. Newly refurbished rooms with ensuite and all facilities you could want for short stay. Comfortable beds. Breakfast was good and staff very obliging - one member of staff popped to the local shop to get us some custard for our apple pie as we requested this instead of cream.
Location on a corner and the positioning of the bus stop meant traffic noise went on til late and started early in morning. Nothing that double glazing wouldnt reduce to livable level
Usual good standard of b &b's maintained and the parking for the boat.
The grilled ham for evening meal
Bedroom was large and well-furnished and tastefully done. The bathroom was very clean and well appointed. Beds were comfortable.
Karioke kept us awake until midnight on a Friday night. Breakfast waitress had obviously had no training.
Closeness to location Clean Facilities good
Wifi wouldn't work Room we stayed in was the only one which had a bathroom exterior to room which was annoying and small.
room very nice
pub a bit pubby? needs a bit of a freshen up
Friendly staff, comfy clean single room and good fry up.
Room , modern, refurbished to high standard. Good shower
No breakfast menu. Had to tell staff what you wanted, then they would say if they had it or not. They need to review whole breakfast experience from start to finish including staff training. If you wanted full English fine, but if that isn't for you, what are the alternatives? Breakfast area could be cleaner (used for evening meals), and better presented . Staff are friendly and helpful but how they deliver customer service isn't up to the standard of the bedrooms
Location Provision of off street car parking.
Bed were uncomfortable, Staff were not experienced Access to bed rooms for older people with baggage difficult, no offered assistance or lift to 1 $ 2 floors.th
The room was clean and comfortable. The furnishings and fittings of the bedroom were of a high standard. The pub is situated within easy reach of West Cowes. As a foot passenger on the island the bus stop outside the pub was very convenient. The cooked breakfast was well prepared.
Not knowing that the room faced onto a busy noisy road. Not having access to a hair dryer was very inconvenient. I appreciate that the pub has only recently been taken over by new management and that changes happen over time however breakfast would have been a more pleasant start to the day if the tables had been laid with crockery and cereals, juice, yoghurts and fresh fruit been available to serve ourselves. A breakfast menu would also have been useful.
Room nice and newly decorated and furnished; very clean
Poor public amenities. Breakfast poor; need menus; tables sticky. Need to be aware not to talk about staff and issues where guests can hear. Although,I assume they have started updating the rooms first, which if they do as good a job on the downstairs as they have the rooms it will be fantastic!
The room and bathroom were well finished, obviously recently refurbished, and comfortable.
The staff were not dressed smartly, and we were served breakfast by someone wearing a dirty T shirt. The service was generally poor. No hair dryer in the room or available, no mirror in the bedroom. Wifi did not work. Payment had already been taken from credit card used to secure the booking, so no opportunity to use a different credit card, which I would have preferred if poss. At £130-00 per night would have expected better.
