Lovely big room. Great location. Super breakfast!!
tree's need cutting back so you can see the sign. Dated decor.
This hotel has a feeling of character and grandness from an earlier time. High ceilings and long corridors with generally friendly staff; it is very accessible for Southport's center and the promenade. The room and en-suite were comfortable and sufficient.
The hotel is in need of a little 'TLC' in the form of decoration work. Neither did we like being told to pay in advance before even seeing the rooms and, had we dined in, paying before eating. Room numbering system along some corridors seemed a little illogical and formed an interesting 'treasure hunt' which is more fun if you haven't got heavy baggage.
Breakfast was value for money
hotel in good position and friendly staff
food below par
Location only redeeming feature.
Rude reception staff. Poor decoration and cleanliness. In very sorry condition throughout which is a shame for a once very fine hotel.
Good central location, met some new friendly people
Room was noisy with air con generator outside & room was dusty in places
Attitude of night porter
Central location good car park and breakfast ok.
She needs some tlc but I suppose prices would rise accordingly ?
Lovely hotel situated on Lord street. Staff very friendly and helpful. hotel stay and buffet style meals offer excellent value for money
Run down in need of urgent refurbishment and decoration.
Good location with car parking facilities. Good value for money
Décor was tired - A bit of TLC requiredf
Size comfort and location of room and hotel have stayed here several times
Location. Outside area. Look of building from outside.
The whole place looked run down and had damp smell. Some work being done in areas being used.
The location and the comfort , the hotel is tired, but accepts dogs which is a huge plus, the staff were friendly, the bedroom was large and airey, had a good supply of hot water.
Staff friendly. Accommodation was clean and spacious. Excellent choice for breakfast.
every close to every thing
could do with up dating would have been nice to have internet so get on in the rooms food not all that good but not bad on the hole.
The price was good and was what I expected for what we paid. Clean and the bar was reasonably priced.
No WiFi in the room. The Decor on the landings was looking Tired
Loved it, nice place with character.
I liked the fact the hotel has been recently been refurbished all looked clean and tidy, our room 124 was spotless so was more than pleased with our two day stay with our dog. Also we where not charged for her as we had the rest of our holiday and she was welcomed with open arms,so could not find fault with anything. Even to park in their car park was only 2 pound per day not bad when your right in center of town.
Clean room Nice selection on buffet Reception staff efficiency
Looks tired Restaurant tables weren't cleaned before we went inside
Customer services is non existence . Night porters have absolutely no idea what they r doing. When I arrived at the reception , I was told that I did not booked a room . In order to stay I had to pay again . I Was given the most disgusting room . The bed was used and the walls dampness showing through . All that while my partner who I was told has not arrive, was in sandringham suit all night waiting for me to arrive. For the next 2day we confronted the duty menager . All he was saying , I quat .was .i m looking in to it . He never came back to give us an explanation . The room we stayed , was hardly cleaned and certenly the sheets were not change for the 7 night we stayed there.
Food good .bed comfy
Bit pushy in restaurant. Different price of beer in bars?
location was great, the lounge was always warm and busy. Easy to park in car park and was n't expensive. Big room
Lower basement room was dark and a little smell of must. I was cold in this room. The hotel must have been beautiful in its day but felt a little well worn
friendly staff, good location.
Three weddings and a dance weekend held while I was there. It would have been nice to know this before hand as I would have stayed somewhere else. Very noisy and you felt stuck in the middle of it with only your room to go to which was not an escape from it due to all the noise and people.
