We found the hotel very tired, our bedroom had no outlook and it was very dark, the windows would not open fully which we needed cause the room was very hot. We were very disappointed, looking at the building itself was we expected more.

It was okay bit dated and old must have been grand in its time You get what you pay for I suppose and at £45 per night it was not so bad Booked a smoking room but on arrival told hotel was all non smoking . Bath and shower tiny . Bathroom could do with an overhaul as could the rooms. Bed was in two halves and separated during the night. Was like staying at an old old grannies house. In need of updating . Girl on reception when checking in was really helpful. Disappointed that there was little open in the area for food . ( not hotels fault) Fancied fish n chips but they were all closed ( at 6pm) ended up in local weatherspoons. Food at hotel was not appealing if you were a non meat eater. Was told car park was free but charged £2 then could not get out past barrier

Comfortable lounge with decent nightly entertainment. We liked the idea of carvery evening dinner & help yourself breakfast. The hotel needs refurbishment in some areas as it is a little dated.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Wi-fi only available in lobby. Most of the clientele rather old. The hotel seems very dated and in need of a makeover.

We are seriously concerned about the process of paying and booking in an out. There was confusion on arrival over payment and even more confusion on departure with wrong information being given and my deaprture being delayed. My wife and I accompanied by our daughter had booked a double and a single room but the reeption insisted that no fee had been taken even though our records show that the sum for one room had ben taken out when the original booking was made. We have emailed the manager and received no response and more money has been taken out of our account.

Location was great. breakfast was excellent, however we paid for the evening meal which was not so good. Would stay there again but would eat out as not much choice for evening meal. The entertainment in the evening was very good - sixties music with Patrick. Overall very good value for money.

The location was great and rooms were good and clean.Breakfast was excellent. The staff were unfriendly and appeared to be stretched to the limit we waited 30 mins for a coffee in the lounge and then went out onto Lord St to a cafe. Our friend had a problem with her tv but again staff no help too busy and not helpful. I ended up changing the batteries in her remote which I had bought earlier that day,

Its traditional style and value for money Parking was difficult but it was very busy not really complaining as when it was built not many cars if any about! Choice of meals has gone down but then again fairly good value for what we paid. Would have liked a more flexible check out for Sunday morning but we did have the option to pay extra
