With its grand original Victorian façade, this AA 3-star hotel has superb facilities and a great location, right on the promenade, offering panoramic views of the coastline of the northwest.

shabby grandiose style, excellent bedroom some staff very friendly and helpful excellent value great central location
bathroom was massive but freezing food is pretty poor quality some staff (esp. reception) very abrupt don't see why you should have to pay for parking on hotel premises
the price was good but no breakfast was included and the location of the hotel is good
the receptionist who was on at 2pm was rude and not helpful we requested to book in at 2pm only to be told it was not ready till 3pm not good enough but the receptionist wasn't bothered at all just told us to come back but insisted on the payment there and then then at 9am next morning we were just getting out of bed when the cleaning staff knocked on the door wanting to clean the room I told her to come back at 10oclock that's our check out time not 9am and same again she didn't seem bothered that she had disturbed us we came to this hotel for a break I will think twice before I book again the staff need more people skills
dinner ! cold in the lounge .was upset on arrival we were offered alternative accommodation I had to object as we had looked forward to our stay in this hotel .we then were offered 2 rooms there
How these Grand Old Dames of the 1930's can still survive with no investment is beyond belief. Low quality for premium price. No Wi-Fi, no flat screen TV let alone at least Freeview. Outdated dysfunctional furniture and feel grateful that the blown plaster on the walls and bowing ceiling didn't collapse on me overnight. I feel robbed of £100 that I paid to stay there. Reading other reviews I doubt a complaint would even make it past the check in desk. Good advice from other reviews - stay somewhere else, even under the Pier!
Back in the day l m sure this hotel was magnificent but sadly today it is jaded and past it's prime. It badly needs a serious makeover. The staff were friendly and helpful but really were working with poor quality equipment. Threadbare towels and plastic teapots to name but a few. The hotel needs an update and would then maybe attract a younger clientele. It reminded me of a nursing home.
Couldn't fit this into 200 words so have forwarded an e-mail to customer services
Moth-eaten curtains, threadbare carpet and unkempt appearance
was not what we thought we had booked through booking.com had to change rooms three times. settled on a room not what we thought we had booked but wanted to settle some where as we were meeting up with family.

Room described as executive double, but standard at best Bed looked like a sofa bed and didn't feel comfortable Poor value for money
Lovely large rooms
Above very noisy Night Club, had to ring down and ask for a room transfer about 12.30am!
Entertainment. Friendly staff.
Bed was very small.
THE FOOD IS ALWAYS GOOD.
THE LIFT WAS BROKEN, HAD TO USE THE SERVICE LIFT.
How the hotel had an old, feeling and look about it, rustic look. Reminds me of a hotel in new York! It had character. The staff were fantastic and very friendly too :)
Having to come home so soon. Time went too quick.
A pleasant welcome Friendly helpful staff Excellent breakfast Took an upgrade to deluxe room, was large, comfortable and included a jacuzi bath
Only the price. I wd.not stay there for a normal price.
Parking Reception tardiness Dungeon type room with the heat turned off. General air of decay & lack of large Hotel well being. Even letter missing from Prince of Wales Hotel sign.
Standard of hotel very poor not good value for money, would not recommend it, very out of date in all resects.
Breakfast very disorganised
The price of the room - £39
Not being able to get a space in the car park but then I didn't arrive until 10.30pm on a Friday night so I was able to find a spot on a nearby street which was free and lasted all the next day.

Very Dated Hotel, One of the bar staff very bad mannered.

The location and friendly staff.
Very dated hotel in need of complete upgrade.
Excellent location, comfortable bed and good sized room. Efficient staff, good sized dining rooms and excellent breakfast.
Car park small and cramped. Classic style hotel but faded decor and paintwork. Wi Fi not available in rooms.
Location, Reception staff.
Lack of staff supervision, Shabby common areas. Mould on bread at Dining table. Only accepted 3rd room offered, first two extremely cold and small. Dirty glasses. Holes in pillow cases, Car park often full, no resident preference. Bathroom heated towel rail broken, very cold when showering. Lift not working, (alledgedly 4 weeks) Stayed here many times, previous owners, always V. Good. Will NOT return.
