This was a return after 15 years and it was very good it is a lovely hotel and the staff were very helpful
needs a little love and care to bring back to its former glory
The size of the hotel. All staff were very friendly and helpful to me. Generally a very very good atmosphere in the hotel overall.
Rooms and TVs modernising
It was warm & clean
Our stay was 3 nights over Xmas & too many oap's. The room was not value for money very basic.
Location.price paid for stay.nice room on ground floor central to reception.good food choice.
the staff was frendly
it took a full day and night 2 get the heathing in the room working
Coal fires Room with a view
Carvery on saturday night very mediocre. We paid for 4 meals quite expensive, dessert very poor and we only had 2 courses. No beef cut when husband went
bed needs up dating
bedroom was simple.but nice and clean and warm.bathroom could do with updating, but for what we paid it was good value
the breakfast was plentiful but it was cool or luke warm, nobody was clearing tables looked like a bomb had hit it.
Our room was more than adequate for one night, but as we were at the back the window was blocked out so wouldn't want to stay there any longer
We could have paid £10 each for our 2 dachshunds. I understand there would be ?extra cleaning but just one charge would cover that surely. They slept in the car quite happily. Buffet supper was not as good as some of the school dinners I used to have. Frozen sprouts just don't work!! Seemed to be very cheap produce although the starters were great. The bread if thats what it was, was like layers of brown cardboard, Good bread or rolls don't cost much these days, so many choices too.
The size of room and location
Dated decor and bathroom
2 open coal fires in main lounge, staff very helpful. Breakfast excellent buffet.
Bed was very uncomfortable.
staff friendly, great location, clean, all we needed
bed a little hard,
Got upgraded to an executive suite but it was just a large room where the whirl pool bath didn't work. Hate to think what a standard room looked like
Good location. Value for money
Certainly catered towards the older clientele.
Not a lot, but it was warm at least.
Had to pay for parking Had to ask three times for bath towels, the wallpaper was peeling off some parts of the walls, the breakfast was just warm, the view from the bedroom window was a disgrace(back of hotel)noise of doors banging lateat night.would not stay here again.
Everything; This is the best Britannia hotel we have stayed in so far, Blackpool you need to take a leaf out of the Prince of Wales book re cleaning standards and breakfast Excellent hotel and as Arni says "We will be back"
The location is excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. Good value for money.
The hotel is sadly tired and dilapidated. it is in real need of a makeover. The breakfast was not good with no fresh drinks (tea and coffee out of flasks) little choice, just mass catering.
Decent sized room and bathroom, bed wasn't as comfy you would expect but ok for one night. If was more nights would expect better. Room was draughty as old windows and wind gets through even though had draught excluders around but not installed properly. Shops all around the area as well pubs so handy location. Also had to retune the to as was all set wrong on stations.
The bed was uncontested mattresss but apart that fine.
suite we were moved to after complaining and looking at 3 other rooms we were put in penthouse suite. Staff very helpfull and polite.
food was lousy, beds very hard no wifi in room .
Everything about the hotel was more than satisfactory regarding the room, the warm atmosphere, helpful staff and location. The Xmas decorations, log fires and carols in the background were very pleasing. We will return.
The wifi connection was not available everywhere, in fact we only found it in certain areas of the reception. It wasnt a big problem but it would have been more convenient to have had it in the bedrooms.
The location is the only good thing
Building in bad repair, radiator in our room did not work, even though this was reported it was not fixed. Had to request a fan heater as room cold. New beds needed, ours were held up with sawn blocks of wood!! Also decent tog rated quilts needed. Rooms shabby, cold, ill fitting curtains, wooden framed single glazed windows, cracked and open plaster around windows, towel rail in bathroom didn't work. Not a hotel I would return to.
