Never would I stay there again a disgrace to the word hotel

Cleanliness poor, food disgraceful, the list would be endless, I have not one good thing to say for this establishment

it was a quaint victorian hotel a little tired but spotlessly clean staff very helpfull room had everything you could need and the bed was very comfortable best nights sleep we had for ages

Fairly relaxed atmosphere. Good location and parking even if you have to pay. Effort made to entertain and enjoyed by those who cannot get about very well.

Buffet breakfast had a good choice but the hot items were not really hot.

No-one at reception at 6am when I wanted to check-out...faulty car-park barrier.

Room was cramped. Pigeons woke us up at 4 a.m. every morning on window ledge cooing and flapping wings. Food was average (I say poor, partner says not bad so we agreed on poor).

Unhelpful staff, inedible food, poor menu, chaotic mealtimes,hygiene issues in the dining area rooms described on the website as "executive" but were quite basic and the list goes on........

Awake all first night due to extractor fan from the kitchen left on all night directly oppisite my bedroom window.plus faulty T.v . 2nd night awake again due to rugby function .police were called ? reason. Guests from function roaming around late at night very drunk. Would have been a good idea to mention this at time of my booking as a good nights sleep was required by myself as attending meeting next day also a small discount would have went a long way as I would stay again in the future.

Large, busy, if somewhat old hotel in need of renovation. Breakfast is all you can eat with plenty of choice and they all so do an evening meal. Easy to park all though they do charge £2 per day.

The hotel is falling apart in places. The paintwork in my room was literally falling off the window frames. It also caters for coach trips. I thought by paying above average for Southport I would get something special but there are better and cheaper. I would suggest staying here if you can get a deal, which some of my colleagues had secured.

Nothing was great

Mouldy bath. Decrepit windows Dirty flooring in the bathroom Shabby decoration Hole in door Paid for an upgrade as it was our anniversary and got a very poor room Description on website is misleading I have photographs to show what we experienced.

Location is close to the attractions as Southport

poor communication from staff whilst a guest charge for parking charge for debit card use no info given re breakfast dated decor in the bedrooms pricey and not recommended

The bar staff were excellent!! The hotel was good value for money

The reception staff were not very formative, we weren't told of the rules for dinner, therefore we couldn't eat there, even though we asked about dinner when checking in. She was very friendly though and nothing was a problem to her. The restaurant staff were extremely rude!!! Both at dinner which we were rudely told we couldn't have dinner and at breakfast when meeting friends were snapped at to tell us we couldn't sit with our friends because they were shutting a section down, even though it was 45 mins before breakfast stopped being served. The staff there seriously need re training, I wouldn't go back to that hotel because of them, to be honest. We were made to feel like a right pain on every encounter with them. Also the room was freezing!!! I was seriously cold all night!!!

We return on a regular basis. This time we visited for the jazz festival. We enjoy the extra space and facilities of the executive rooms at the front of the hotel. My wife likes the shops. The hotel car parking facilities are very important for us.

It is a very convenient hotel shops & sea front very close. The hotel is set in lovely gardens which are nice to sit if weather good.

I didn't like it that they put the price up for the carvery £3.00 for saturday night we thought it had gone up but the day after it was reduced by £3.00 we have stayed there before & it has always been the same price any night
