Decor is old wifi connection is slow
helpful staff nice surroundings
Staff exceptionally polite and helpful. Lounge bar really nicely done and food good. Nice location and easy to get to by car.
The bedroom not well maintained. Nice old sash window in bathroom but didn't close so would be freezing in winter. Bath taps old, and not in a good way.
Super-friendly staff! Good size room for a single and the bed was sooo comfy! Surprisingly quiet area considering on main road.
Wi-fi a bit hit and miss for some reason. Sash window frames rattled in the wind so had to wedge paper in them!
Bar area very welcoming
Reception staff very helpfully. Room very clean quiet and comfortable roomed next to our children was much appreciated
Food in restaurant was very average steak in edible and sent back. Had to ask for lots of things at breakfast that should have been there. It felt like at 8;45 all they wanted to do was stop serving customers and breakfast. No orange juice milk eggs etc until we asked for some. Eggs when came were well cooked.
Lovely staff Good food Well refurbished bathroom Excellent water pressure
Room hot and stuffy at night even with a fan. Air conditioning urgently needed.
When we arrived and walked down the corridor to the room that had been allocated to us we noticed that the 6 rooms leading to ours had "Beware, Hen night in progress" posters put on the doors. We asked to be moved and we were issued an alternative quieter room in a different part of the hotel. The receptionist was very polite and dealt with our request immediately and very efficiently. I wish I had her name as she was most helpful with other information with regards to getting information for us e.g. the tube to London and even looking it up on the internet which stops we had to get on/off etc.
We were moved to room 401 and some of it felt a bit grubby. It was in need of painting - a light had been moved on the wall near the mirror and plastered over leaving a stain on the wall. Also the bathroom didn't have a blind or curtain at the window and facing the car park, people would have been able to see the the shape of anyone in there through the frosted glass - it didn't feel very private. The bathroom also looked "tired".
Comfort and cleanliness Free WiFi Buffet-style breakfast
Single room was quite small It was a warm evening but room was very hot, although a fan was provided. Couldn't leave window open at night as it opened on to a communal balcony.
restaurant and courtyard gardens, food good, bar staff helpful
rpms to hot, locations of rooms to far
Everything! Such a friendly warm hotel with a very interesting history. The staff were amazing. Lovely to chat to Helen in the bar and jean the restaurant manager. Thanks for a great couple of days. We will be back!
We loved everything.
Very comfortable bed - slept well Excellent breakfast
No hairdryer in room - had to request twice
Great location Friendly staff Very good facilities Good car parking Value for money
not much to dislike
Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and the linen was crisp and clean. We slept well as the hotel was quiet - we stayed on a Sunday night.
The room we stayed in was very hot although a fan was provided, it was still very hot. The decor and facilities were in need of updating. The bar meal was poor value for money.
The garden and the quietness of the area.
The shower was a bit outdated, but fully functional.
Very welcoming and friendly. Excellent breakfast.

Dined outside on terrace, food ok, restaurant staff very nice. Location was fairly good. Did not like anything else!
Accommodation - Not very clean, defective wiondow, shower too small (had to crouch), shower cubicle not very clean, only 1 lamp, no luggage rack, my colleagues matress was disgusting (stained). desk too small, wifi poor recetption, price does not reflect the standard. Raised all of the above with reception who were not able to do anything but advised they are refurbishing and we should have booked an executive room. The website should reflect the standard of accommodation accurately.. Not good value for money.
The staff were friendly and the room was a good size.
The rate for the room changed drastically each night depending upon how the hotel was selling. I certainly wouldn't pay £80 for. The bed alone. My rate averaged out at £62.50 for the bed alone. Not the greatest but not the worst. I was quoted different prices for breakfast by different staff. Again, I wouldn't pay £11.95 for breakfast anywhere. That's way too much.
Clean comfortable room
.Difficulty in finding the room
staff who were friendly and cheerful, good selection on the buffet breakfasts, could have as much or as little as you wanted, rooms were comfortable and good value when you consider location and closeness to centrl London
Poor wi-fi and mobile reception, but there were mitigating circumstances... the bedroom was in a an older building with thick walls and hotel surrounded by trees... however could always sit in the lounge and use wi-fi or phone or the garden. Not really a minus in that respect.
All of the above
120 guests in a red hot function with broken aircon which nobody could sort out
Staff very helpful.
The curtains over the bed smelt of mildrew. MY BOOKING HAD ALSO BEEN LOST IN THE SYSTEM AND I HAD BEEN BOOKED IN FOR THE DAY BEFORE BUT STAFF VERY HELPFUL AND UPGRADED ME.
Very friendly & helpful staff, delightful setting, room very grand. Enjoyed the breakfast in my room option.
Nothing really excepting my room was somewhat distant from reception & bar.
Spacious room Excellent lighting over the 'desk' working area. Good selection of cereals for breakfast, and fresh bananas. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Dated décor. Bathroom in need of a refurbishment - superficially clean, but grubby in all the recesses and needing a good bleaching. The sink cold feed pipe sprang a leak. Expedition to get from reception to room.
