The setting was excellent and we had a wonderful surprise to find the bedrooms were in a converted church and we had superb stained glass windows with St Nicholas looking over us! The staff were very relaxed, friendly and helpful whilst being highly efficient and professional. The bar food was excellent and it was a pleasure to unwind there with the top notch barnan attending to every need with ease. The only down side was the fairly long walk to our room from the main area.

The Reception staff was excellent. The Building that houses the Reception beautiful. The location superb and the gardens wonderful. The worst bed I ever slept in. I was moved to another room for the 3 remaining nights but not better at all. Room was not clean. Maintenance of the room very poor. Shower temperature control not working. Not sure how this hotel got 4 stars. Having worked in the hotel Industry and stayed in over 1000 hotels I was very sad to see this in my Industry. It gives us a bad name.

Proximity to tube station and on the central line. Good breakfast. Attended an event at the hotel on the first night of our stay. Food was good and the function room was suitable for the event. Did not have to think about taxis etc at the end of the evening. The hotel bedroom was only just adequate. We had a problem with the shower which was dripping constantly and we were unable to switch off the water. The bathroom was full of steam on the first morning of our stay because of this. It was rectified by the hotel staff straight away after we had made it known to them. However, we had the feeling they may have known there was a problem with the room as the reception staff rang to see if all was ok in the room. We have stayed at this hotel a few times previously and this is the first time anyone has done this. The hotel represents good value for money for a hotel on the outskirts of the city, but the rooms could do with being refurbished.

I booked the holiday because our only daughter got married on the 28th, so we wanted somewhere nice to stay.So that we could all get up in the morning and have breakfast together with the Bridal couple.I Booked 2 rooms 1 for my husband and myself and the other for our 22yr old son, when I realised that I had booked his room for 2 people and spoke to the receptionice, she said there was nothing she could do has I could have booked it for 2 and 1 didn't turn up.I Was a little taken back by this, has I knew it was my mistake when booking, but I don't lie.Plus 7 of us came back at 12.15 and thought we would have a night cup & were told that the 24 hour service was off, very strange we all thought. After my older son spoke to the clerk we managed to have 1 drink and then off to bed.Although my he then wanted a cheese sandwich but again was told no he couldn't have one.It was a shame about your staffs service, it spoilt the end of a most wonderful day. Please look at above, I wrote it in the wrong box. What I liked was the cleaning staff were very friendly, so a big thank you to them.

We Thought Breakfast should have been included in the price that we paid, Also the bathroom was not up to our standard,,( broken bath panel, Black in the tiles, and toilet could have been cleaner) The bed was a small double which we found to be uncomfortable, We just expected more from a four star Hotel.

Easily Located. Being able to hire a smoking room which was clean and comfortable, I know smokers are a dying breed (bad choice of words) but found it a pleasant surprise. Staff were helpful, we were able to book in 2 hours before check in which as we had travelled for a few hours for a friends wedding was most welcome as we had time to freshen up and chill for a while before the wedding. Drinks were expensive but then you expect that for the location. All in all a most enjoyable weekend in pretty garden surroundings.

Theree is nothing to like about this hotel. Most hotels in the area are well over £100 a night and I guess the only way Menzies can tempt anyone to stay here is to stay below £100. Its billed as a 4* hotel which it is NOT. At very best it is 2*. Far better value for money and \ or comfort can be found at Premier Inn or similar. Where to start......hotel very dated and badly in need of refurb, charged for whole stay on arrival (note.....this does not happen at 4* hotels), had to change rooms because TV didn't work, bar service abysmal, food badly over-priced, threadbare carpets throughout, gents toilet 'out of order', didn't get the wake up call I had booked, shower hardly worked (just a dribble), no double glazing in bedrooms so windows draughty and rattle in the wind.......frankly I could go on and on. Just a VERY poor excuse for a Hotel that doesn't even come close to what a 4* hotel should be. Avoid at all costs.

“Lovely modern apartment, good quality fixtures and fittings. Had everything required although didn't need to use dishwasher or washing machine. Appliances such as hob and microwave needed a little figuring out how to use as I couldn't find any instructions, but not a major problem. Apartment was clean and quiet. Comfortable bed, slept very well. En suite very nice. Tesco nearby Earls Court tube station about 6-8minutes walk for me.” Julie, Padiham Lancashire |
