Small room Very dated decor Grubby bathroom Noisy outside our room window Needs a massive refurb!
The breakfast was awesome. One doesn't usually get a breakfast served with the table completely to a T. The background music was lovely as well. We loved being able to walk from the train station around the old town and back to our hotel. very lovely.
Bursting with caracter, quirky building, great staff, proper breakfast.
That we only stayed one night.
Our suite was small but nicely decorated, in a great, central location. Excellent full English breakast buffet! The quirkiness makes it very charming
There's nothing we didn't like!
Excellent position in shrewsbury. We had excellent room called charlotte suite ...good value for money. Intresting old building
Tricky to find. Worth ringing in advance about car parking.
The friendly and helpful staff. Good service. High standard of catering. Central location.
The décor could do with some updating. In trying to retain the hotel's historic connections the restaurant in particular was rather dark and gloomy.
Fantastic staff. Very flexible and helpful. Gave us an early breakfast and stored our bikes safely. No qualms.
The place looks a little tired and dated but it was clean
Historic building, position in town centre. Original sash windows White duvets Nice shower valet parking
No free wifi No bottled water No tissues in room
Hotel in prime position.Very friendly and helpful staff.I did,nt like the room I was first shown to,but after asking to be moved it was no problem,i was given a lovely room at the front side of hotel. The hotel is undergoing a massive refurbishment,so all the rooms will be spot on.Very comfortable 5day stat
All was good.
The location was great and the staff were brilliant. Good having our car parked.
The food in Chambers was not very good, meat dry, gravy/ sauce was disgusting!
The shower was good
Bit old and shabby
Valet car parking Free upgrade from standard room to suite Breakfast Central Location Late check out very relaxed
Poor bed lighting - lights hidden by bed curtains
Good location, comfortable room, relaxing bar
Bar stopped serving food at 9pm. Had to go outside round corner for food. Wifi only available near Reception.
No heating on 1st 2 Nights - Chilly BH W/E a Shame/Noisy Bar to Rear
It was very centrally located. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and the food was excellent. Also I appreciated the glass of sherry when I arrived.
Right in the middle of all the shops and galleries, all within walking distance. Car valet service, sherry on arrival, staff incredibly welcoming, breakfast waitress service
Been woken up at 6.30 with deliveries, cobbled streets made it noisier. But loved the park view from window. Noise not the hotels fault, it was deliveries etc
I loved the location and valet parking. Breakfast was good and staff friendly. I had a nice room overlooking the church
All round , an excellent location , very friendly staff . We had a lovely room with a modern bathroom .
the Bar and Lobby area need modernising.
The staff The location The breakfast The fluffy towels The comfy bed The decor
Just the coldness on the first night but the manager provided us with a heater and all was fine then
A lovely piece of history in the centre of Shrewsbury. Little nooks and crannies but with comfortable rooms and all mod cons. A journey to explore an interesting-looking corridor brought us out into the restaurant on the other side of the hotel. The food was lovely! There is no car parking at the hotel, but the valet parking service was excellent.
The rooms were not large and, if we had had suitcases rather than bags with us, we would have struggled to store them easily.
the location is excellent we were able to drive to the door and car was valet parked for us with no problem and brought back at the time we requested in the morning. The receptionist on duty was very friendly and helpful and told us we had an upgraded room.
Our upgraded room was average but with tired furnishings wardrobe etc.(made us wonder what an average room would be like!) We were quite cold and could not adjust the heating, the old style hairdryer cut out after a few minutes in use. Being charged for Wi-Fi these days (£12 for 24 hrs) seems ridiculous! breakfast was average coffee terrible appeared to be instant made up in a coffee pot.
We liked our brand new bathroom and a lovely breakfast.
We did not like a small lift.
We were allowed to change our room, the breakfast was excellent and the car was collected and delivered on request. The staff were very polite and competent.
Not much i'm afraid.
The standard room was of an extremely poor standard, the bathroom completely awful, breakfast was poor, wouldn't give more than £50 per night for this room/hotel.
Friendly staff Centrally located Excellent breakfasts Overall good value
Some street noise in my first floor room
