The staff were excellent, nothing was to much trouble. The food was also excellent, and our stay at the Priory Inn was delightful. If you stay at the Priory you really should visit the Arboretum at Westonbirt, the colours in the autumn are really beautiful.
The only thing which I felt let the Priory down is that the bathroom is very small and needs up dating, but that is the only negative.
All staff are friendly and attentive Food choice is excellent and delicious Very good value for money
Bathrooms are small and all showers are over baths.
All staff very friendly, attentive, well managed and trained. Catering for my wife's coeliac dietary needs was excellent. Food both at dinner and breakfast was extremely good and excellent value.
In our room the loo took quite a time to refill! Minor
Clean bedrooms with good linin. Excellent bar/pub area with lovely locally sourced food (although a bit pricey). Good breakfast. Friendly staff.
Bathroom was a bit small and we felt the tiles needed a clean.
Lovely helpful staff Large comfortable bed Excellent value for what we paid
A little dark in the breakfast room offset by a well cooked breakfast.
Very relaxed, friendly and helpful staff. Quickly provided Soya milk in the room in a small refrigerator. Meals very good.
Coming back late in the evening car parking difficult.
Location Staff Atmosphere Comfort Food Parking
Food in the restaurant was excellent and good value for money, bed was comfortable, plenty of room in the bedroom, facilities (tea, coffee, iron etc.) all good.
Bathroom was a little cramped, cushions on the bed could have been cleaner but this is nit-picking!
good welcome ,comfortable bed
slow dinner srevice, bathroom perhaps needs an update
Very friendly and efficient staff. Clean and comfortable room. Superb wood fired pizza oven and excellent food.I can highly recommend this excellent Inn if you are visiting the area. I would also recommend a visit to the Arboretum at Westonbirt which is just 5 mins away and absolutely spectacular in the autumn.
Warm stuffy room, window did not open enough to get any ventilation. Owner no communication skills downright rude to my 18 year old daughter when asking for ID
Excellent Pizzas served in the restaurant. Tea and Coffee facilities in bedrooms Soft quality towels
Restaurant tables had a very sticky feel needed all to be cleaned. Cleaner was present during breakfast service making a half hearted attempt to clean the windows. At peak time for check out in lobby, floor was being cleaned. Timing was not appropriate
The location and the evening meal. Room size ok and bed was comfy. The tea tray was very good with lovely biscuits and the bathroom accessories were also good.
The room was far too warm which they obviously knew as a fan was provided. We lay on top of the covers with the fan on which unfortunately sounded like a jumbo jet so didn't sleep at all. Kitchen smells of a chip fryer were wafting into the room all evening.
The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the room was so comfortable and quiet. Even with a restaurant full of people directly below us, we could not hear any noise. The food in the restaurant was outstanding - all from a 30 mile radius. We were glad the staff advised us to make a reservation for dinner that night. Breakfast was great too. Car park right next to the property really helped.
The staff were friendly and attentive. The Priory Inn is a charming hotel with clean and comfortable decor, the bed being huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was excellent in choice, service and taste, offering food that is locally sourced. We had a fabulous stay and would happily stay there again.
lovely big room on 2nd floor. Very spacious bathroom
windy staircase, but difficult with luggage. Road outside quite busy till late, then traffic started again at 5 AM
we had a half board option and the food was excellent. the room was basic but clean with good quality bed, bedding and towels, also extra touches with toiletries and quality biscuits which was nice.
breakfast was very good although i agree with other reviews that the buffett section was not great, but overall no complaints and i would definitely stay again.
The young Australian girl who greeted us on arrival was exceptionally friendly and efficient. The town was convenient for our visit to Highgrove, it was also handy for our other trips out- Slimbridge, Woodchester Manor, Hidcote.
Very misleading first photo on web site- showed row of delightfully quaint cottages on cobbled street which we assumed was the Priory Inn. In realty the Inn is on a busy main road, our ground floor room backed onto large car park meaning we could not have window open both for security, fumes and noise reasons. Could vary the choice of fruit at breakfast, I'm sure there are other fruits grown locally apart from apples, apples or apples.
Went to Tetbury for their Food Festival. Which was more a market on the Sunday but stay at the Priory more than made up for the journey. Lovely friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. Meal in the evening was very good, nice to have locally sourced produce and the breakfast was equally as good. The situation of the Inn was just right, not too near the centre of the town and so quieter. Although there were a lot of children around, very quiet and no bother.
The staff are extremely helpful and courteous. We were very impressed with the quality of food and service we received in the restaurant. We would definitely stay here again. Great atmosphere.
If you can, try and book a room on the opposite side to the kitchens. Although the extractor fans/noise from the kitchen did stop at a reasonable time, it was slightly inconvenient if you did want to enjoy a quiet room during the evening.
Warm welcome, comfortable room. Terrific locally-sourced menu and bar - dinner and breakfast were fabulous
Surprise crowd on a Tuesday night meant a slow dinner delivery - but worth the wait
Wifi - you had to ask for the key. Couldn't get radio to tune in to any station. Smell of food in reception.
Clean room, very good bed. Polite staff( run off their feet). Pleasant and easy to find venue. Interesting pictures on walls.
Unable to open window more than a few inches. When we did we had loud fan noise from kitchens and other noise. Had to have fan on all night (provided luckily). Porridge wasn't cooked through. otherwise all ok.
staff were friendly and the service was excellent.
The bed and pillows were too hard.
