Just a short walk from the heart of Whitby, this small family-run bed and breakfast offers free private parking, free Wi-Fi and charming, high-quality rooms. Prospect House is just half a mile (half a mile) from Whitby Train Station and the shops, cafes and restaurants in the center of town. There is a bus stop within easy walking distance. Small and friendly, the bed and breakfast offers a comfortable, clean, homey environment and a warm, friendly welcome. All of the rooms are tastefully decorated and serviced daily. Fresh towels and complimentary toiletries are provided and all rooms have a TV, a DVD player, a hairdryer and tea/coffee making facilities. Ironing facilities are available upon request. A good Yorkshire breakfast is available each morning to set you up for the day. Vegetarian options are available by prior request. There is storage for bikes and walking equipment and washing and drying facilities are available for a small additional cost. Hotel Rooms: 3 Reservation possible without a credit card

We booked this at last minute over the net while at Lumley Castle 'No ordinary Hotel' and were surprised at what a fabulous place Prospect House is. Wendy the proprieter has excelled at making a welcoming atmosphere on arrival and extended throughout our stay. Modern and new decor throughout, with soft luxuriant carpets that beg for you to remove your shoes as a show of respect and to indulge in the sensation as you head to your haven of rest. Breakfast will fill you for the day and freshly cooked as required with small scissors to cut the sauces too. Nicest touch for Prospect House......... Wendy always refering to us by our names, Bev and Andy... In the real world the personal touch is priceless and we will be returning very soon We parked car on road at side of house and half way through the day in Whitby suddenly wondered bout parking restrictions . For Prospect House....... Could not find any faults. Wendy has her finger on the pulse with the whole place.

Wendy was very friendly and provided excellent service. Prospect house was some distance from the centre of Whitby and was a bit of a climb on the return.

Wendy the proprietor was lovely, she really made you feel welcome. The rooms were gorgeous and breakfast really tasty. Great value for money, we'll definitely be going back!! Everything was great, thank you Wendy :)

Chose Prospect House because of it's high score of reviews and we weren't disappointed. The room we stayed in (no. 4 the attic room) was very clean and spacious. Decoration was modern and very pleasing. The breakfasts were typical b&b and were very satisfactory. Prospect House is located about 15 mins walk from the sea front and wasn't an issue with us at all. Wendy the owner was very pleasant and very helpful, even texted us on the day of our arrival to confirm arrival times. We would certainly use again and definately recommend.

I was very impressed with the friendly welcome we received. The breakfast was very generous with a variety of cereals, fruit and yogurt to choose from. We were also provided with a substantial vegetarian breakfast, not the usual full English but with the meat taken off! When in the area we will definately stay again.

Superb place to stay. Quiet out of the way, but with easy access to the town. Prospect House is ideal if you want comfort, good food and a relaxing stay. Easy to find, with free parking next door. Ideal spot for a break.

We were made to feel very welcome on arrival by Wendy (the landlady) and the room we stayed in was clean, extremely comfortable and had everything we needed. The breakfast - which Wendy gave us the choice of choosing each day was excellent and set us up for the day. We really enjoyed our stay and would not hesitate to return.

Owner was very welcoming & friendly. Breakfast was cooked beautifully and portions were ample. Room was comfortable. It wasn't exactly a problem for us but the location does involve a steep uphill walk back from the town centre, which could be a disadvantage for some.

Disappointed in the size of room. Booked a large double room, there was no wardrobe space just a rail 2 hang clothes on, The sink for washing hands after using toilet was not next to it, and had to go up a couple of steps.

Wendy,the owner, was very nice and willing to please. The bedroom was comfortable and had two easy chairs which you don't find in all hotels. Also there were real wine glasses and tumblers which is a refreshing change from thin plastic.Everything was very clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. We are used to eating quality fresh bread so the thin sliced bread was a disappointment. Also jars of good marmalade and jam would be better than catering packs. However, on the whole the breakfast was OK and fresh strawberries and blueberries was welcome..

We had a lovely weekend in Whitby for the Soul Weekender. This was made even better by staying at this lovely b & B. Wendy is an excellent hostess, friendly, efficient and caring. Our room was beautiful, comfortable bed, spotlessly clean with excellent decor. Will definitely stay again.
