Parking. The garden. Catering. Accommodation. Service.
Sash windows rattled in the wind! Wi-Fi poor.
The staff were really friendly gardens really good and an interesting house. Breakfast was really good.
Room very shabby and badly needs refurbishment. They cannot charge these prices for this quality of accommodation. Bathroom really poor and very, very small.
Location was good, easy walk into the town, room was nice, plenty of storage for my clothes and well serviced.
I struggled with the stairs, having arthritis I found the top floor hard work, if I stayed again I would ask for a ground floor room.
Easy checkin and checkout, plait staff, clean rooms. Good service.
We found all the staff extremely helpful. The room was very large with outstanding views. The food was of a very high standard and was presented perfectly. We enjoyed our stay so much we extended it an extra night.
The only small draw back was the lack of a fridge in the room. My wife enjoys a pint of cold milk about 6 am in the morning. When we mentioned this to the staff they showed her where she could help herself from the breakfast bar.
Great location in the centre of town. We had a superior room which was huge and very comfortable with great views of the sea and the gardens..
Bathroom was ok but would benefit from a refit with better lighting.
Excellent professional staff, warm welcome, clean comfortable room, beautiful character building full of history, perfect location. Wonderful grounds. Lovely breakfast conservatory.
Breakfast itself could have been better. My fried egg was overcooked, husband's scrambled egg clearly microwaved, possibly not free range eggs either? The bar is frequently empty, of customers - and staff! Not a welcoming place to drink, too morbid and gaudy. Barman clearly very bored, a nice enough chap, but the telly in the corner showing trash tv (with sound on!) combined with the music coming out of a separate speaker, is awful! The barman can be found either smoking in the outer doorway (with the door open so the smell drifts in) or messing with the kitchen lads. Not a good impression. The lovely professional lady on reception assured me the bar was ready to be refurbished, thankfully, this is so important for guests as sometimes it would have been better to use the hotel bar for food and drinks.....but nobody wants to! I witnessed a family of 7 walk in (for a bar meal) and promptly walk out, so much money lost!
An old manor house Décor and furnishings in keeping with that. Very nice staff Good food Clean and comfortable Parking
Perfect location near to bus station, shops, bars and restaurants. Helpful staff, good breakfast, easy check in/out
Climbing stairs as no lift available
Water pressure and toilet flush poor bed uncomfortable
Location and comfort were excellent. The dining room served us a very good dinner the only evening we were there. Breakfast was also very good. Good parking and lovely gardens
Staying in the Louisa Lodge which is clean, tidy and comfortable with good facilities in the room. It is situated close to the car park so convenient for moving heavy luggage into the room. Staff are friendly and always helpful.
The included cooked breakfast isn't served until 8.00 which may make it unsuitable for business travelers.
Room with sea view Close to town/beach
ran out of the dessert we chose! ha ha
good location, comfortable bed good breakfast plenty to choose from friendly staff
small bathroom, could hardly fit in to sit on the toilet....no towels in the room...
It felt like I was home
A nice hotel to stay at. Room 7 is superb - large with a great outlook. A 3 minute walk into Swanage.and to the sea front. Very good car park. Nice bar, lounge, breakfast area and dining room. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly
Breakfast is average but OK. Dinner also average and we waited 40 minutes to be served - being second couple in the restaurant. Waiter response not impressive.
Location was great, All staff very friendly and very helpful, stayed in room 5 on 3rd July 2014, only 1 night but still had a good time thanks. will definitely go back for longer
None sorry, or would have liked to stay longer
Good location for the centre of Swanage. Interesting building.
No cask ale available.
location and the food
as a solo traveller was put in a room next to the kitchens which were noisy for most of the night
Very welcoming friendly staff Very clean and excellent food from the restaurant.
Hotel is a bit dated WiFi was sketchy and only worked in the lounge, not in the bedrooms
The building is attractive and conveniently situated close to the sea. Grounds are pleasant and secluded. Staff are friendly and helpful. Reasonable food. Bed firm but comfortable.
In my room (15) windows did not open and there was no wi-fi signal. Picture over bed-head hanging on string - it could easily break.
Nice room with comfortable bed. Bathroom excellent with good quality towels. Lots of choice for breakfast and beautifully served.
10.5 duvet was too thick for summer. Did mention this on leaving.
You could leave your car in the car park after check out and the building was impressive
The room was quite small - the cold tap in the bathroom basin was a dribble - for the price I expected a little more - needs some TLC
The location was excellent. Free parking and the staff allowed us to leave our car ther for the day after checking out. Breakfast was good. The grounds were lovely and the building is beautiful.
The double room that my sister and nephew stayed in was a little chilly. Furnishings in General were a little dated, but in keeping with the age of the property. There was a bit of a smell of drains in the reception area which gave the place a feeling of being unclean, but it wasn't! Maybe invest in some air fresheners!
Very comfortable room with fantastic sea views from three windows. HD TV to watch the game.
