Very helpful and friendly staff. Especially liked being able to park up car prior to checking in. Excellent evening meal, good breakfast - plenty of coffee. Room was large and well appointed. A little too warm for my liking, but was able to yurn down heating and open a window. Water pressure could have been a bit higher in the shower though. Building is very impressive. To think that it was a family house!!

The location is perfect for a stay in swanage. Stayed in louisa lodge. Our room had a balcony overlooking the sea which was lovely. The bathrooms could be updated.

I/We were so pleased that we had a room in the hotel (house) rather than the Louisa Lodge: I/we loved the character and the history of the Hotel - with the original features as well as the location...within walking distance of the beach & Swanage Pier and also the shops. The staff were very polite & very helpful.I/we would certainly stay here again & in fact have already been looking at New Year's Eve!Hopefully it will not be too long before we can pay Purbeck House Hotel another visit. If I had to comment on one thing it would be the taps in our bathroom sprayed outwards & I got soaked when running the taps - also the shower (temperature gauge) was difficult to adjust when in the shower: it was either scolding hot or lukewarm.

The Hotel fully deserves a 3 star rating, it is excellent. The room was big, comfortable and had good views. No problem with parking. We ate in the hotel and the food was very good, especially the bar meal. Staff were pleasant, efficient and caring. Dawn on reception was brilliant. Overall a very enjoyable experience, and very good value.

The location of this hotel is perfect for the beach, shops and the steam railway to corfe castle etc.The staff are friendly and polite and the house while very comfortable, is mildly eccentric and offers a glimpse into the past. We loved our short stay there . If i was being really picky i would suggest a couple more pillows would make things more comfortable

We had a wonderful week-end at the hotel and would definately go back. The food was amazing, bedroom was comfortable but the bed too hard. Staff were really friendly apart from one waitress who could hardly speak english, which made things slightly difficult. The position of the hotel is excellent. Awful hairdryer in our room - please could the hotel replace these antiquainted hairdryers !.

We stayed in the old house. Staff were without exception friendly and attentive. Our room was comfortable although very warm but once we had turned down the radiator we enjoyed a peaceful night. We didn't use the restaurant as the town centre location left us spoilt for a choice of good local pubs and restaurants but the breakfast was good. Overall a pleasant stay. We would use definitely use Purbeck House again.

It was decorated very nicely, it felt old but not scruffy. Lots of history there. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The breakfast was really nice, lots of choice, it came to the table really quickly and was hot. Our bedroom was very warm and comfortable. We will definitely stay there again soon I hope.

Very friendly and helpful and I was made to feel welcome. Costs were reasonable and single room was surprisingly spacious with great views and a bath. Drinks in the bar were very reasonably priced. Decor is rather dated. Bar food was OK but not great.

A fine and interesting old house with impressive features both inside and out. The interior and most of the exterior kept in excellent repair. High ceilings, impressive staircase, enormous room, period (Victorian?) fittings. Carpets and wall coverings all in very good condition. A couple of minor points. Sadly the presumably former kitchen garden greenhouse is in a sad state of repair. Doubtless it was once some former Head Gardner's pride and joy. In the same area a number of apparently original cast iron staircase embellishments are in need of some tlc. Didn't appreciate being "talked over" by another member of staff whilst I was in conversation with the otherwise very efficient Receptionist.
