The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and comfortable with a lovely view of the countryside. You couldn't ask for more from the reasonably priced hotel.

Walls are paper thin. Could even hear the light switch being flicked in the next door room.

We loved the location and views. The rooms were comfortable and check in/out was quick.

Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. The bar/restaurant area was pleasant and food very good. Location very convenient and although on the busy A1 we were not affected by traffic and views were across open fields. Would definitely recommend this as a good place to stay at a very reasonable price.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We were also worried that it might be noisy being on the main road, but our room faced the other way and was very quiet.

It's normally all good.

We have stayed on a number of occasions but on our last visit, there was no hot water in the morning. I thought reception would have offered a discount by way of compensation. They didn't but did say sorry..

The lodge is situated next to a truck stop and this would put you off if you drove by.

Purdy Lodge was perfectly situated for our needs. The facilities were good and the staff extremely helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in this area.

The room was very clean and warm. Great breakfast!!

We had an electric heater just sitting infront of blanket off radiator pipes which looked unsightly. The were a few switches/sockets there had no purpose also.

Very comfortable beds. Triple room was great so we didn't have to book an extra room for our 16 year old. Lovely breakfast. Convenient location just off the a1. Good value. Friendly welcoming staff.

Terrible shower. Hot water ran out before 8am & there was no pressure. The least you expect is a comfortable bed & a warm shower. We got one but not the other. The very friendly staff did give us a discount but overall the stay was disappointing. If they fix the plumming it would be nice for a brief stay.

Convector Heaters in Bedrooms.

Friendly staff, clean, comfortable rooms, good food in the restaurant and at breakfast. Reception staff super helpful especially when my husband brought the wrong suit to our sons wedding! Reception staff let us keep our room while husband drove to the Metro Centre to purchase the same suit he had left at home then change into it before leaving for the wedding venue.

Friendly & efficient staff. Excellent dinner The best 'roadside' budget hotel I have ever visited in the uk - not being part of a large group is a major plus point.

The weather albeit beyond your control!

Room 12A was one of the best Lodge rooms we have ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds and everything we needed for our overnight stay. Very well done Purdy Lodge
