Location good. Plenty of parking space and friendly staff
Tired room decoration and noisy floor boards. Narrow corridors make it tricky to carry luggage etc.
Big rooms, free parking, great shower, quiet location
Breakfast overpriced, £8 in advance or £13.95 on the day. Car park badly lit.
The staff were terrific. I left jeans in the room and they went very far out their way to make sure they were posted back to me. pool and sauna were not expected for the price i paid. A little way out of wolverhampton, but you could see that as a bonus..
Clean and crisp white bed sheets
Rather tired. Dated decor. Wooden windows in rooms in desperate need of replacing
Good location for work and the staff were polite.
Room/hotel was tired and worn with window latches broken and mould in the bathroom. The overall hotel needs modernisation and was surprised as the mercure brand is normally pretty good.
Clean, tidy, very spacious room - in the business centre. Modern, well equipped bathroom. Good breakfast.
Restaurant menu was a bit limited. Had to wait even though table pre-booked. Dog barking in residential house nearby.
Familiarity - I've been staying here periodically for many years. Convenient location for city centre. Bedrooms. Shower over bath with folding glass screen - excellent (room 64) as opposed to other bathrooms in the hotel which have a lethal hinged glass panel. Convenient self-serve buffet breakfast which allows for a very quick breakfast if required.
Over the years dining room service (evening meals) has deteriorated. Currently too few staff for too many covers. Last year I waited over an hour from ordering to first course. I appeared to have been forgotten because there was a party booking of ladies. This year I ordered escallope of pork in Dijon sauce with roast potatoes and baby sprouts from the menue. I was served pork steak in pepper sauce with new potatoes and mange-toutes. I suspect that this was a dish which was on the limited menu being offered to the very large party booking also in the restaurant. Since I feared how long I might wait for a replacement meal I ate what was offered but mentioned the mistake to the waitress as I left. She did ask whether it was nice, which wasn't the point, she didn't offer any explanation or redress.
My room was in the business section which was shabby with runners missing off the stairs with worn carpet. On entering my room it smelt strongly with a musky odour so much so the first thing I did was open the window which did not make any difference. Woke up the next morning with a sore throat and did not stay a second night even though I had paid for it. The reception staff did not ask why I was leaving early. The swimming pool CCTV is at main reception so everyone could see not good.
value and facilities, friendly staff, free car parking
Changing rooms for the leisure facility were in need of tidy / refurb
very poor beds, not at all comfortable lumpy and very noisey/creaky bed.road noise from outside, did not sleep a wink,i would have slept better in my car
Staff were very helpful. We travelled with our dog and were given a room near stairs so we could let him out.
Room and indeed whole hotel was very hot and made sleeping difficult. Some flooring creaked in our room and above us.
Friendly staff excellent value for money
Stairs to the third floor, next time I will stay on the ground
I love the English breakfast . Genuin and well done

There was nothing to dislike
The room was very clean, bed was comfortable and all the staff were helpful and ready to make the guest's stay comfortable. Facilities are good. Credit goes to the manager too. The hotel is on a dual carriageway and our room was on the roadside and we were worried about the noise but the double glazing minimized the noise and we were able to have undisturbed sleep. We found that several smokers congregated just outside the front entrance and the smoke drifted into the lobby. If this can be prevented it will make the place even better.
Room OK good size breakfast lots of choice. Nice to be able to use the pool. Plenty of parking.
Noise in the room other guests constantly slamming doors. Wedding on the Saturday extremely loud disco do not stay in room 78. Asked to be moved unable to do this but got a refund on the nights stay. We felt that we were in the party room as the noise was so bad!!!!
Reception and check in/ out efficient.
No lift; corridors and back areas tired, dated and scruffy; noisy; doors banging through the night. tiny TV in the room; unfinished repairs in the bathroom; Wi-Fi so slow hardly worth having; Sexist "Ladies only" parking spaces!; I could go on - all very disappointing and poor value.
Lovely breakfast, great value for money and close to city centre
Quite noisy as close to main road.
Location was good for our needs, the staff were helpful and very polite. Our room was of a good size and reasonably comfortable.
There were three beds in our room although we only needed two, one of the beds were broken and felt like it was going to collapse. Also the bathroom could have done with being a little cleaner, it was dusty, there was still rubbish in the bathroom bin and we were left open and used bottles of complementary toiletries. These were just minor glitches that did not interfere with our stay.
Free wifi, comfy bed and clean, I didn't find the time to use the leisure facilities
Restuarant and bar meals a bit over priced
Incredibly helpful staff, bedroom was comfy and clean, really accommodating to our needs. Breakfast was delicious with many different options. Definetely worth the price.
It was a little far from town but manageable.
The business centre was themed like a Roman ruin, and actually done very well. The room had a gorgeous 4 poster bed.
The room had damp, which you could smell upon entry. The shower wouldn't work on our first night, but on the second night the boiler was reset and it was okay. We asked for an iron & ironing board, which was sent to the room, but the iron was a cheap £4.99 Argos one, which had seen much better days, as had the ironing board. My partner and I ordered £50 worth of room service.. (2 meals & 2 deserts) the meals were cold, and didn't come with the veg listed on the menu. The desert gateaux was dry and also came with a different ice cream than listed. We sent the meals back and didn't pay. The corridor doors were banging all night long which disturbed our sleep.....it was V Fest weekend, so maybe that was why, but we didn't enjoy our stay unfortunately.
expensive breakfast quite far from centre
