Mercure Altrincham Bowdon Hotel  

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Free entry to leisure facilities. The seocnd bedroom I was given was quiet, warm and very comfortable.

First room I was put in was near to a motor/generator for the leisure club which was very noisy and rather cold however the staff were helpful and changed my room for the second night of my stay, which was so much better.

Extremely good value, fantastic breakfast.

We recently stayed over visiting friends for a special birthday. Check In was fine, room was a little on the small side but fine for a 1 night stay. Breakfast was good, and we didn't have time to use the health facilities.

There was a little dust on top of the headboard and dressing table could have been cleaned a little better. There was no one around in the bar area on the Saturday afternoon so we decided to walk into Hale. A little background music in the bar area wouldn't have gone a miss, as I felt we were listening in to other peoples conversations

The food was lovely, rooms nice and very comfy bed.

A lot of the staff were foreign and hard to understand, some were quite rude but some were ok! Pool time was 2 to 5 PM which was not very good to us as we arrived at 5 and had to check out for 11 so we were unable to use the pool quite gutted!

We had 3 rooms but room 61 was noisy with a buzzing sound,did not know what was making this noise.

Next to the Boys' Grammar School - attending an event. Price OK Location important - however quality turned out to be very good indeed. Price OK - could always be better!!

Nothing to dislike. Could breakfast be included?

Pleasant surroundings, close to Manchester with good transport links.

It is a comfortable hotel with good amenities and is ideally located for the business that I conduct in the area. I also find the staff friendly and responsive

The location was great - not too far from the motorway to travel to find it. The staff were extremely helpful and the hotel was clean, tidy and had a relaxed atmosphere about it. The food was also fabulous.

Needs a facelift. Main hotel and corridoors look shabby although rooms are nice.

The Hotel was close to the venue of a family party.

I have stayed in several Mercure hotels in France and was disappointed with the quality of this hotel, it is definitely not up to the same standard. My room was small, the fittings were of a cheap quality, the stairs and corridors were tired and in need of upgrade. There was only one bath towel in the bathroom and it was only when we were leaving that we discovered a second in the top of the wardrobe! Why put it there when it was a double room booked for 2 people?

The double bed was too small. Although booked an executive room we were provided with a family room. The last time that we stayed in the Bowdon Hotel we had a large double bed and assumed that by booking an enhanced room we would have a large bed again. The Hotel was very hot and so we had our bedroom window fully open and as a result we were disturbed at night by noisy departures at 2.30 am and 4.30 am. Air conditioning would have obviated the need for an open window
