I picked this hotel as a surprise for my husbands birthday to stay before we flew to Bulgaria mainly because it had a pool and spa and wifi but when we checked in I was so disappointed to find that the pool was closed and we could not get on the wifi the pool and spa was the main reason I booked but like I said I was very disappointed that no one told us before hand

We have stayed for 3 night and were at the place only for the sleep. The purpose was to attend awedding. Checked with the staff if bf included, told yes without explaining that we should pay. I was not happy with the way was handel as at least should offer the first night bf I know the staff I belive is polish but should be handeled diffrently and for that reason I will not recommend them to any friends.

The hotel & facilities were great, the rooms were comfortable, spacious & fresh. My room was cleaned every day. Check in was swift & I was provided with all the information I needed. The breakfast charge is £13.95 if you just 'turn up' or £10 if you book the night before. At any rate it is far too expensive for what is served. On the only morning I ate I was wandering about the restauarnt looking to see what was/was not being served. It was only after someone heard me cough did a staff member appear. The range of food in the 'Lounge menu' is ok but is could be improved. I ordered the pasta on the first evening, says tomato & onion, it failed to mention aubergine & peppers, both of which I dislike. I left my plate (almost untouched) & tray outside the room to be collected but wasn't asked how the meal was, not even offered a refund/alternative. On night two I again ordered from this menu, albeit it was just snackable items, I left my tray outside the door approx 7.30pm & when I left around 8.30am the next morning it was STILL there. I didn't eat breakfast again. On the third night I ventured into the restaurant again completely unattended. After approx 15 mins someone came out from a kitchen area, I asked if the al a carte menu was what I could eat from & what the soup was, 5-10 minutes later the lady came back. The range of food is the restaurant is ok but personally again overpriced & too fussy. I eventually opted for something with a request of a specific serving to the meal & no greens. God knows how long later it was, it arrives & is NOT the dish I ask for, the lady took it away to be replaced. On waiting (almost an hour since I first went into the restaurant & the only person in the lounge) I get my dinner, bland, the smallest portion & again not the potatoes stated would be served with the meal. I asked at reception for two different bills, a personal bill & a company expenses bill, the man behind the reception said nothing & wandered off to get someone else.

spa, service, food, value for money one of the rooms had no heating in bathroom and a noisy fan, but we were offered a very nice room in exchange. That was very good in every way, though the shower unit did not seem to work.

Easy to find, massive car park and close to restaurants and bars in Hale. Small pool, sauna and steam room were a bit of a bonus. Room was tiny, beds were hard. It was a tad grubby too both in the room and out. Looks like it needs a refresh and a good clean.

Hotel was clean and comfortable. Staff were good. Breakfast excellent. I had booked myself and my grandson (8 years old) for 1 nights whilst we were in Manchester, I picked the hotel because it had a pool. On arrival, the pool was closed for renovations. This was not stated on website when I booked. Very disappointed, feel some kind of credit should have been offered!

Staff in the bar didn't seem interested in serving. Staff at the leisure club were almost non exsistant, stood waiting twice for ages. The room we had had a constant noise which sounded like a boiler running, not fun at night. So much for saving the enviroment, we hung our towels up to re-use but they got taken and not replaced.

The hotel staff were friendly and accommodating and the (executive) room was comfortable with a number of 'added extras' which made our stay a special one. The receptionist on duty during the weekend was informative and helpful with a kind and courteous manner. In terms of the room - the coffee maker was a lovely touch as was the fruit bowl and fresh bottled water by the bedside. The dressing gowns and slippers made the stay a very comfortable one (although the gowns could have been a little larger). It was good to be able to regulate the temperature of the room by the thermostat on the radiator as, so often hotel rooms are far too hot. Distance into town was perfect for a stroll and there were plenty of restaurants for all tastes (although the hotel also had a very nice menu if one wished to simply rest at base). We made a special request at pre-booking for a 'quiet room' and unfortunately found ourselves near the staircase/landing door. Additionally, a few inconsiderate guests made the stay quite a noisy one way into the early hours of the morning. The hotel bar appeared to stay open beyond 2am on the Saturday night but, in fairness, they have to cater for guests who wish to use the services at this hour. Our room was at the front of the hotel over the car park and front entrance (again - a rather noisy spot considering our request) and the room windows were single glazed. This created two problems - noise levels penetrating the glazing and severe condensation if the window was left closed. The way around this was to leave the window open slightly, leave the heating on very low and put cotton wool in your ears! The pool/spa was central to our stay and sadly, it was a little 'tired'. The first problem was that one had to leave the hotel to reach the spa and it was raining so this was a bit irritating. The ceiling in the pool area has suffered terribly (not sure why but perhaps uncontrolled condensation!) and the changing room showers are badly in need of a deep steam clean (the tile grout was black from waist level to the floor). The changing room floors are FREEZING COLD and constantly wet as there are no raised wooden mats on which to stand (these are usually a standard feature in hotel spas). It would be nice to see a miniature spin-dryer for bathing costumes as all the dripping water made the floors quite hazardous. It was a little unpleasant to find a mop in the middle of the changing room - this suggested that guests had to deal with the floor themselves. Unfortunately the spa was a bit of a let-down.
