Hotel room was a good size and was clean and tidy, location was convenient for the city centre. Breakfast was good, nice food and plenty to choose from. Bathroom was very small, the bed was saggy and uncomfortable (I woke up with backache after sleeping in it), the room was far too hot, and there was a long queue for breakfast in the morning. Ashtray was provided outside for smokers, but it was overflowing and looked like it hadn't been emptied for quite some time. Kettle in the room needed repairing/replacing due to a loose plug connection which made it difficult to get it to boil. |

It was like staying at a hotel stuck in the 1970's. The outside of the building and hotel reception were very nice. CCTV camera's for the car park gave a nice first impression. The time warp starts as soon as you get in the lift to go to your room. I stayed in a single room, so got a single bed. The best thing about the room was that it was clean. The bathroom and shower facilities were extremely basic, I was suprised when hot water came out!!!! I know that for Birmingham, I paid a relatively low fee £36.00 however,,,, I have stayed in a lot better for the same price. |

Very tired Hotel, carpets worn, decor scruffy. Dining room very scruffy and breakfast was poorly cooked, cold and almost inedible. serving counter and surrounds were dirty and all needed a good clean. I would be surprised if the dining room and its facilities could survive a food hygiene inspection. Finally the public toilets were shaby and not clean. I would not stay again. |

Location. Friendly staff. The bathroom fittings were a bit tired and in need of modernisation. The shower leaked badly. No milk was provided with the tea/coffee-making facilities. |

The location suited us. the bar area is nice. Our room smelt strongly of smoke and staff were unwilling to acknowledge this. I actually washed clean clothes on return as they smelt after being in the room. There was no curtain or blind in the bathroom and so no privacy to shower. We had dinner at the hotel, the service was slow, there were many mistakes to the order and the quality of the food was poor. |

The staff were very friendly and helpful, beds very comfortable. The fire alarm went off at 7am on Saturday for approximately 3 seconds, waking everyone up. There was no explanation as to why this happened. The towels in the bathroom were dirty. |

Only a place to overnight after a good day in the city. The hotel is part of the Quality Inn chain and suprisingly shabby despite the budget rate offered. I had a single room which was adequate and spacious but in urgent need of renovation. The shower room had a lot of mold around the shower and wc and wallpaper was flaky. The heating motor was very noisy and there was no way of switching it off which did not aid to a good night's sleep. Bedside light didn't work which was reported so hopefully remedied for the next occupant. Certainly would stay there again despite the budget rate. |

Leaving. Wish id paid £20 extra for a decent clean hotel in a good location. Reception had no record of our booking inc breakfast. Eventually got it sorted. The lifts were dirty and stained, our room was unclean - hairballs on the bathroom floor **eugh**. Lack of care and attention maintaining rooms - eg showergel in shower was empty / the milk for the tea in the room had gone off / stains and rips on the wallpaper. Breakfast was limited choice due to hotel being busy. |

Bar, and reception were very pleasantly designed Breakfast was appalling. Sausages were undercooked, eggs didn't arrive out until we were just finished, no staff in the dining room. Dining room decor was very dated |

Good value with clean comfortable room with a good breakfast. When booked not sure of the location in respect to the centre so was a little disappointed as we wished to leave the car in the car park and use cabs which were expensive. |

To be honest the only things thus hotel has going for it is the location and comfortable bed. Which is why we stayed here. Room was tatty. No remote control for the TV, the receptionist was going to bring us one but never did. Freezing cold room when we got there, the heating must have come on at some point while we were out in the evening. No soap in the bathroom or shampoo/shower gel. |

I forgot that I have been prepaid for the hotel room when the reception ask for and paid twice but another staff repay me back ! Quality staff! Thanks for that as I may not knowing paying twice, I may not check my account. Thanks for the sincerity. The food is not good. I try sizzling prawns, over cooked and malinate with herbs change the taste of prawns ?? prawns.Don't worry there are other eating outs nearby.Garden House is not bad , has good food- menu of the grilled sea brass and prawns is good. |
