the room was disgusting and you could smell damp, all of the ceiling tiles were damaged and the skirtings were rotten

We had no heating in our room whatsoever. It was cold and the heater was broken. The heatpump on the wall was apparently "purely for decoration" when we acquired of hotel staff. They eventually provided us with a tiny fan heater. Meanwhile throughout the night whilst trying to sleep the heatpump lights flashed like a disco ball!

I was a single traveller and usually at other hotels I have stayed at the reception staff were alot more friendly as I was a female on my own, the bar staff were nice though

The staff. They were so friendly and nothing was too much trouble! The hotel room was clean and the beds were comfy. The breakfasts were good. Hotel is near to the town and very near an excellent curry venue!

The jacuzzi was out of action. The hotel is tired and in need of refurbishment. Unfortunately we not aware of the refurbishment issue when we booked.

Really good sized family room with a double and 2 proper single beds and plenty of room for a travelcot too.

Leisure centre / "spa" is quite shabby but the hotel is under refurbishment so imagine this is on the list

Swimming pool was a little murky, hot tub was out of use and there was no toilet paper in either changing room in the leisure facilities (some was supplied when requested).

Couldn't checkin early waited a very long time for our dinner in the Resturant and they still got it wrong heating was broke but the did supply a heater swimming pool wasn't open late enough

we were told meals were served in the bar area ,full of "white van man" which made the area loud and untidy,football on tv . needless to say we ate all our meals out. Why not use that beatiful restaurant? .girls on bar have not mastered the coffee machine

Hotel layout, a bit of a maze. Lack of info regarding leisure facilities, e.g. need to take bathroom towels to pool.

Not a lot, but at least the bedroom was clean.

This was a really poor experience.No one was immediately available in reception; I had to ask for towels for the bedroom;the promised wake-up call didn't materialise;there was no skimmed milk at breakfast,which was greasy;staff at breakfast were inattentive and breakfast tables were uncleared.

Friendly staff, good facilities, excellent gym/leisure facilities, excellent value overall. I will be staying again

Nothing: was happy with the stay

On the main road into Birmingham bus stop near hotel that run every 5 minutes. The room and bathroom was clean. The hotel suited our purpose which was a bed for the night while we explored Birmingham.

Rooms need updating but for £45 for the night its not really a complaint

The value for money was terrible, the hotel was old and the rooms were very basic for the amount of money we spent and that didn't even include breakfast, would not recommend

Jackie-barmaid was fantastic as was all staff. Room was really spacious and very comfy. Facilities were fab, food was divine :0)

In general the room was nice. Carpet was really thick.

Bare wiring was visible. Some of the sockets did not work. Tv cable trailed across the room. Poor quality build really almost to the point it was dangerous. There was no lamp or socket next to the bed to charge my phone. Only a light switch for the main light which was far too bright to relax before bed. The desk was in the way of getting around the room. It took 30 minutes to run a bath. I didn't dare try the shower after that, it must have been a dribble.

Location, good meal in resturant and breakfasts . Christina excellent customer service although worked alone on Saturday cheerful and uncomplaining of any tasks. An exceptional member of staff who was genuinely interested in the customers and friendly.

Drab and shabby corriders, fittings in foyer ladies toilet broken. Leaking roof in bathroom thriough electrics. Perhaps maintaince on call for weekends could be an advantage for emergiences etc. All Windows need cleaning especially consevatory Observed poor customer service for some clients, little eye contact and no acknowledgement when busy. Poor resturant service. No front of house personel to take welcome guests and orders in restaurant which could be much bussier with better communication sytsem. Staff unaware of meal deal promotion in restaurant. Poor signing for advertised facilities. Difficult to access swimming pool, sauna and gym when no one on desk and felt not welcome by guy on desk quetioning if a genuine guest to use facilities. Could be an excellent hotel with more attention to detail.

There was these workmen in room 121 and kept us up alnight banging on the door wanting to come into our riom

I had to stay in the area whilst my wife was in hospital the hotel was being decorated so some bits were not to standard but the staff more than made up for it they were brilliant once the knew my wife was ill they went out of their way to chat with me and cheer me up. The hotel could have been a shack but they would still get and excellent review from me

The location was convienant I enjoyed the pool but it could have been cleaner

The cleanliness the hotel looked shabby and dated and is in need of decoration the carpets are awful the beds too narrow the tea making facilities were poor the hotel is in need of an upgrade
