Opened on Queen Victoria's coronation day in June 1838, the Royal Bath Hotel was the first hotel in Bournemouth. It offers 3 hotel restaurants, a health spa and lovely sea views.
Score from 2079 reviews Good
Located on the seafront, overlooking Bournemouth Bay, this modern and uniquely styled hotel has a 1930s Art Deco style, a seasonal outdoor heated pool, a day spa, and a lido deck.
Score from 1096 reviews Very good

Clean, comfortable and superb shower!
Not enough blankets on bed
Hotel staff is very friendly, free car parking, this time stayed in room "Bob Dylan" which is a nice room, breakfast is plentiful and good quality, hotel bar open till late, hotel is located 10 minutes walk from the city centre and 5 minutes away from the beach, WiFi is fast, rooms are cleaned every day, water dispensers available in the corridors
walls and doors are thin, can be a bit noisy at times.
Rooms, clean, breakfast, cheap
Creeky floor boards above which is a easy fix. Fair enough with letting pets stay, but barking most of the night is not tolerable.
I loved the themed rooms. Breakfast was very good lots of choice & wifi was excellent Loved my stayed with
Rooms clean , tidy and well kept
bar area needs to be more welcoming and cosy perhaps
original decor, and fun (famous names on each hotel room) lots of memorabilia around
room, service , the staff .
breakfast was good but cold.
Have stayed here 8 times now.. Staff always friendly and a hearty breakfast.. As a business trip all I want and need. I have not used the facilities at hotel so cannot comment,as I just use as a bed and breakfast. But must be ok as I keep coming back..
Nothing to complain about!
No host at dinner - "find your own table" Very few staff - bell on the bar was an indication that this probably happens all year round. The duvet only just fitted the bed which resulted in a poor nights sleep. The shower in room 253 (Tina Tirner) was cold even after running for over 10 mins, but did not seem to bother the receptionist when we checked out - "I'll get maintenance to have a look" Breakfast was not very appetising - bacon was burnt and stuck together, fried eggs were left under a heatlamp and therefore were like bullets. There were no mushrooms although there was a dish with something which could either have been mushrooms or burnt potatoes, the sausages were the worst I have experienced and I enjoy a good sausage and eat quite a lot. There were no yoghurts. A couple on the next table had asked for melon and were left waiting for approx 10 mins, eventually when they lost patience and spoke with the waiter again he said it would be another 5 minutes as the chef had to cut the melon into small pieces!! I stay in Bournemouth on business at least 1 night per month and will do everything I can to avoid staying here again.
The price, the staff, breakfast
Shower, thin walls
Staff friendly food great.
Breakfast was good. wifi excellent. Kettle in the room a bonus. a great location from town and the beach. Each room was decorated with a different movie star, this was a little different but fun!! The renovated downstairs was very nice with bars and restaurant areas.
Bathroom needed revamp & the bathroom heater didn't work. the rooms were a bit dated and the carpet needed replacing were it was worn out at the door, but clean and comfy!
The celebrity theme was good. The staff were very polite and friendly. In a good position for the sea front and town
The only thing that could be improved is that the buffet breakfast could be kept warmer
location, food, comfort
Friendly staff, good service & clean rooms
The one direction/girls aloud room & bathroom was a bit small & I had to move the tea/coffee tray & put the mirror there so I could use the socket for my hair dryer, so more sockets are needed in that room
Great value for money. Lovely atmosphere.pleasant staff.
The hotel is in a good location only a short walk into town. The hotel has a friendly atmosphere all the staff are helpful. We had the Ken Dodd suite and the room is spacious and clean. We had dinner at the hotel in the evening and it was very good. recommend for the price, staff, and cleanliness I can not forget the breakfast as well.
Looking all the celebrities in the hotel.
Bath water not very warm.
I liked the location, within walking distance to beach, pier etc. The staff were excellent.
It was very noisy, with guests trying to get into their rooms at 02.30 on Friday. Also big 40 year old party on Saturday the walls are thin !!!!
Party directly under our room which went on well past midnight and very noisy afterwards
Saturday night party ended at midnight, which was tolerable, but the party fellows kept on shouting and making noises far too late. Annoying.
The good position of the hotel as was in walking distance of beach. Room was large enough for the 2 of us. Breakfast was ample - nice to be able to serve yourself to as much as you wanted.
It was a bit noisey due to other patrons and a party.
I should have been notified at the time of booking there would be a private function at the hotel,a hen/stag night. No bar staff at the residence bar, was noisy all night, a fight almost started at the function. I feel extremely disappointed and let down with the whole experience. Nothing at all like the website.
I had a very noisy room with 4 lads above our room . When they can I in at 4am they made excessive noise and lots of swearing . At 5.15 I decided enough was enough and went and complained to the night porter . They acted on my complaint apologised when I checked out and phone to confirm a full refund of one nights cost . This was excellent customer service .
Having a room above the night club that went on to 1 am . Breakfast nothing special
