Bathroom had been modernised.
My No Smoking room was in the same corridor as smokers. The food was below standard
Suited me perfectly
Close to motorway an Cheshire oaks, North Wales and chester
Unable to use pool at certain times due to babies club
Wifi unreliable, food terrible Drinks incorrectly delivered. Over charged dirty, unmaintained. Generally a very bad night.
Bedroom was basic but clean The pool and gym were very quiet.
- my room (222) had heating pipes situated behind the wall where the bed was. This meant that when the heating was turned on there was a constant loud ticking sound. -the fan in the bathroom was also very noisy due to a fault. - one, very quick (to be fair) room change later, I was in a quieter room (123) and I had a great nights sleep. -First floor hallway was boiling hot! - leisure facilities: wow. The men's changing room was in a dilapidated condition. None of the Lockers, ironically, locked! They were rusted, had sharp edges/splinters and falling to bits. The floor was filthy (slimy) and the poolside was not much better. - as expected with such a low room price, the evening meals were grossly expensive (to wipe the nose of the discounted room) and of poor quality. All mains were £14.99 min. unless you wanted to upgrade to rump steak \o/ which carried a supplement charge of, I think, £6. I ordered the lamb which arrived thinly sliced, with 2 roasted potatoes, very undercooked cauliflower, green beans and a very small puddle of tasteless gravy. Not the best 15 quid I've spent! The service was terrible having waited 40 mins for the meal and not even being asked if I'd like a drink while I waited. The gym. Ha! Very poor condition with a very small selection of equipment. They clearly had a gym manager that knows what he's doing so perhaps provide him with proper facilities?! That is all.
The room was lovely, the actual pool was ok the bar resteraunt looked cosy, we didn't use it as was out a lot, the staff professional and did a good at job,
The room view let it down bad a horrible large flat roof area with air ducts , plus we could hear the disco very loud till late, if We stayed again I'd ask for a room away from disco and with some sort of view not a roof
The location was handy for our needs.
We paid £75 for a room that seemed to have been cut in half since the previous owners. The breakfast was cold. We complained and nothing was done. They simply said 'is it?' The staff didn't attend to us at all at breakfast after seating us.No one asked whether we enjoyed our meal or our stay.
Staff Bed size and comfort
Room far too hot couldn't turn down radiator so had to open the window all night in November. No cold water in sink. Any environment claims such as planet 21 are a joke. Walls paper thin Lady in next door shower need not apply for X Factor.
The reception staff were very helpful The wifi was ok when we eventually worked out how to get on Location was convenient for us
The restaurant was the worst part They didn't seem to be able to cope if more than half full and the staff appeared to be new, not really knowing what they were doing without asking someone
Clean rooms, spa
Carpets looked worn and not great ventilation when walking down the corridors
Had to ask to change rooms as fan from kitchen made the room vibrate and noisy. In the second room the heating did not work. Window could not be closed and it was on the ground floor.
very helpful staff
noisy duct on roof and disco bass thump reaching second floor brdroom
Large rooms Warm swimming pool
Outside of property all the paint is peeling off so not a good look! Lights in bedroom total darkness for 25 mins until it was sorted Breakfast very poor especially for £8! Was no pastries no bread for toast, when asked for some left the bread bag out transport cafe style? Most of hot items had run out but when replenished they were cold.. Really hate to stay if it was busy as the restaurant service and standard extremely poor
I particularly liked the openness and friendliness of all staff on all shifts. I loved the cleanliness of all areas including the spa facilities. There was a wide range of options for the buffet breakfast and excellent coffee. The tea and coffee-making facilities and the mattress in my room were very brilliant and I slept better than I usually do at home!
I thought the breakfast was a little on the expensive side at £13.95 per person, so only had breakfast once. The TV system was a bit unfamiliar to me, but as I was at the hotel mainly for sleeping, showering and to use the spa facilities, these small issues did not affect the quality of my stay. Well done to all staff!!!
The pool was lovely. The food in the restaurant was good but pricey for the amount served. The staff were very friendly.
The heating was on so high and you aren't able to turn it down or off from in the room. Far too hot, made us feel ill. The cold water ran as hot as the hot water - very strange.
staff extremely helpful and friendly
price of breakfast was reduced £13.95 to £8.00 per person at £8.00 i thought this was very expensive for what was available
Pool was warm and generally ok. Room was clean and tidy That's it !
Receptionist was unwelcoming, no info given at all on breakfast, dinner, or where anything was, same person on check and as un enthusiastic then as well. Bedroom was noisy, bed uncomfortable , no hot water for the shower , the cold tap fir drinking water was warm and the hit was almost boiling. Pool was poorly maintained changing rooms, Given lots if silly slips if paper with codes for wifi, codes for pool doors, For a room with small children a window that fully opens with no lock is not ideal, until 12 midnight all you hear is bedroom doors banging loudly . At £75 the room and facilities do not match, should have gone to premier inn.
VALUE FOR MONEY, CLEAN AND GOOD FACILITIES
When checking in the young student receptionist was grumpy, told us nothing about location of facilities and felt extremely unwelcomed.
See the above
Location Plenty of parking
Quantity of stairs - up and down to reach room on 1st floor. Overall tiredness of hotel inside and out. Rate charged for room. Cooler / Extractor fan noise next to bedroom window. Small bathroom.
Standards Cleanliness Friendly staff Nice rooms
Location a little far away from Chester city centre.
Breakfast was really overpriced
More like a 4 star hotel - excellent value for money!
Well located for getting to other locations during my trip. Staff very helpful.
Noise from the room access corridors by other registered customers. Room access door requires additional sound proofing. Cigarette smokers are allowed too close to the hotel door. Cigarette smell was entering the lobby and corridors. Smoking outside should be 30 metres away from the hotel entrance doors.
