Escape for a relaxing stay at one of the South Wirral’s superior 3-star hotels, close to the beautiful village of Childer Thornton.

Bar area is nice as are the leisure facilities.
Disappointed with the first floor room. Stayed here 2years ago in a lovely ground floor room but this time the first floor room was not as pleasant. Breakfast was a little hurried, waiters rushing to take plates away before the food was finished.
Facilities- price great
no mobile coverage Wi-Fi didn't work in our room cobwebs all over ceiling
Lovely warm pool!
The hot water went off and then we had no water at all. However, we were not charged for breakfast because of this.
The hotel was easy to find and all the staff were really friendly. Room was clean and practical.
Comfortable, breakfast quite good and the bar is rich of choice in whiskies
A little bit far from Chester and Liverpool. That means you need a car.
Mostly okay, staff were helpful, room clean and spacious
A coachload of youths who arrived and had little respect for people watching TV in the bar and constant noise in the corridor through to the small hours of the morning until a complaint was made!
The room was dirty, dusty and the wifi coverage was rubbish
Unfortunately had to leave due to noise from a coach party that were staying but can't fault the staff and the hotel very nice
The staff are extremely helpful and polite. The pool area, steam room and sauna are great. Room was comfortable and clean and we had a good nights sleep. Good value for money.
The changing rooms of the leisure facility desperately need an update but were clean. The room had a faint odour of sweaty feet which seemed to come from the detergent used to wash the linen.
the hospitality & friendliness of staff
location from liverpool but that's not the hotels fault
Friendliness of all the staff from the point we arrived to leaving the next morning. Very comfy bed. Excellent breakfast. Very clean. We will definitely stay again.
The only slight down for us was no signal on our mobiles and we struggled to connect to free wifi but as we were going out we didn't have time to explore further with the hotel so we didn't report it
the pool/sauna and steam room.
Good location for our visit to Liverpool. Bar meals were good and breakfast was reasonably priced with good choice. Swimming pool was warm the younger children in our party enjoyed the experience. Definitely recommend and stay again.
An area of the hotel was closed off we had to manage young children and luggage up and down stairs on the long walk to our rooms. The changing rooms at the leisure complex were very cold.
All staff were really helpful, nothing was too much trouble. I was worried travelling with our dog was going to be an issue, even though the hotel is pet friendly, the staff loved him, which made us feel really welcome. I also thought our accommodation might have been compromised, but our room was lovely. It was great having WiFi and a pool. Very clean :)
The bed next to the window was very cold(ok for me but not for everyone!) Price of food/drink bit more than we were willing to pay.
Really pleasant stay room was nice an modern
The door was left open by the house cleaning staff and the Bed was really hard, cold water was hot.
Friendly and efficient staff. Very helpful and accommodating. The room was excellent, very clean and well appointed Boiling hot water, comfy large bed. Good breakfast. Will visit again. Highly recommended.
Bathroom had been modernised.
My No Smoking room was in the same corridor as smokers. The food was below standard
Suited me perfectly
Close to motorway an Cheshire oaks, North Wales and chester
Unable to use pool at certain times due to babies club
Wifi unreliable, food terrible Drinks incorrectly delivered. Over charged dirty, unmaintained. Generally a very bad night.
Bedroom was basic but clean The pool and gym were very quiet.
- my room (222) had heating pipes situated behind the wall where the bed was. This meant that when the heating was turned on there was a constant loud ticking sound. -the fan in the bathroom was also very noisy due to a fault. - one, very quick (to be fair) room change later, I was in a quieter room (123) and I had a great nights sleep. -First floor hallway was boiling hot! - leisure facilities: wow. The men's changing room was in a dilapidated condition. None of the Lockers, ironically, locked! They were rusted, had sharp edges/splinters and falling to bits. The floor was filthy (slimy) and the poolside was not much better. - as expected with such a low room price, the evening meals were grossly expensive (to wipe the nose of the discounted room) and of poor quality. All mains were £14.99 min. unless you wanted to upgrade to rump steak \o/ which carried a supplement charge of, I think, £6. I ordered the lamb which arrived thinly sliced, with 2 roasted potatoes, very undercooked cauliflower, green beans and a very small puddle of tasteless gravy. Not the best 15 quid I've spent! The service was terrible having waited 40 mins for the meal and not even being asked if I'd like a drink while I waited. The gym. Ha! Very poor condition with a very small selection of equipment. They clearly had a gym manager that knows what he's doing so perhaps provide him with proper facilities?! That is all.
The room was lovely, the actual pool was ok the bar resteraunt looked cosy, we didn't use it as was out a lot, the staff professional and did a good at job,
The room view let it down bad a horrible large flat roof area with air ducts , plus we could hear the disco very loud till late, if We stayed again I'd ask for a room away from disco and with some sort of view not a roof
The location was handy for our needs.
We paid £75 for a room that seemed to have been cut in half since the previous owners. The breakfast was cold. We complained and nothing was done. They simply said 'is it?' The staff didn't attend to us at all at breakfast after seating us.No one asked whether we enjoyed our meal or our stay.
Staff Bed size and comfort
Room far too hot couldn't turn down radiator so had to open the window all night in November. No cold water in sink. Any environment claims such as planet 21 are a joke. Walls paper thin Lady in next door shower need not apply for X Factor.
The reception staff were very helpful The wifi was ok when we eventually worked out how to get on Location was convenient for us
The restaurant was the worst part They didn't seem to be able to cope if more than half full and the staff appeared to be new, not really knowing what they were doing without asking someone
