The hotel is very handily placed for a traveller who wants to get in and out of London quickly (from the north). Finchley Road station is 5 minutes walk away and connects to 2 very useful lines for working in, or travelling around, the city. The staff are very helpful and accommodating. Car parking is limited, but free.
The location and accessibility via car and public transport is very good. Finchely Road underground station is only a ten minute walk away. The fact that parking is off street at the back of the hotel and free is a great bonus and a strong point of this hotel. The price per night is also comparatively reasonable. The room was quite spacious and quiet, the furnishings adequate and relatively new. Everything was clean. New towels every day. The staff were helpful and courteous, but a few more smiles of the breakfast waitresses might have gone a long way. The area is safe, being in a good and expensive part of North London.
The single bed in my room was not very comfortable and kept moving about, as it was not fixed. I also felt it was too narrow for me, but perhaps a queen size might have been better for me instead two single beds. The mattress was a too soft for my taste, but someone else might like that. The pillows were also not the most comfortable ones, having been flattened out by many previous guests. Hence I did not sleep all that well. Another weak point was the strength of the WiFi signal in my room. At times this was a bit patchy. More routers in the building might remedy that problem. With regards to the staff serving breakfast, I always felt they looked as if they were not happy about what they were doing, yet cheerful amongst their colleagues. My recommendation: a few more smiles for the guests.
Nearby the tube station, shopping centre, restaurants, farmacys and bus station to london centre.
The room was too small for three persons. There wasn't space for the bags.
We arrived on Christmas day 2014, we spent 8 nights, we found our clean, neat warm room waiting us. we slept really well, woke up finding the beautiful view of Camden warm houses and chestnuts trees. *Breakfast was good, but it could be better, coffee machine makes delicious morning coffee/latte'/ cappuccino . *Hot water always available with bathtub. *The radiator heat was adjustable. *Tea, coffee and creamers on the room were refilled daily. *Many restaurants around the hotel, small groceries, supermarkets and Sainsbury's stores are just 2 minutes walk. *Walk 2 minutes and you will find the bus station taking you to oxford street in 15-20 minutes by bus ( N113- night bus - available ) . Finchley underground station is 5 minutes walk away from the hotel and Swiss cottage is 10 minutes only, take a tram to anywhere you want in London. *1 hour drive away from Heathrow airport( taxi for 35-40 pounds) It is a quiet neighborhood in a fast and loud city, yet it is center of London I usually book 5* stars hotels but because of seasonal holidays in London the rates were very high and available rooms were limited . so I booked this hotel for the good reviews, that's why am putting this detailed review
The only real negative: no mini fridge in the room, we had to put our water bottles and yogurt on window sill (we were lucky it was freezing outside) it would be better if we had found more varieties of breakfast, Omelets for instance, 1 or 2 more types of cheeses, however they serve the traditional english breakfast, I was happy with the butter & jam, fresh toasts and the fruits :) Myself it was not that big deal, but the room was a bit small, no closet neither safe, just 6 hangers and a shelf. If you are looking for a very friendly and pampering stuff you will not find that, you are in London! but yet they are doing their job and trying their best to keep a smile. just be kind, and you will find a very helpful lovely staff.
staff very helpful
Attitude of staff at breakfast
The staffs are polite and professional
The room is cosy but too small. Can be bigger.
not enough toileteries
Everything about this hotel is positive. It is handy for the tube to walk into the centre is easy. The car park is an added bonus the staff are a wealth of knowledge. We have stayed here a few times.
Handy for buses
Very comfortable beds, very convenient for tube
I visited this hotel last year and it was in the process of being refurbished. The makeover is now finished and the hotel really is lovely. Excellent value for money and the parking is an added bonus.
I liked everything.
Location Clean Quiet Near 02 Centre
bed little hard breakfast average
Location was brilliant for London overground station at Finchley & Frognall and the Finchley Road underground station for the Jubilee line both 2 minute walk either way from the hotel which was just up a side street off the main Finchley Road.
Not really the hotels problem but their was a heavy smell of cigarette smoke in the room so we had to leave the window open all the time we were there, fortunately the room was at the back of the hotel so not bothered too much by the traffic noise. If your not a smoker and you have this heavy smell lingering in the curtains carpet and bedding its really offensive. Not sure why the smoke alarm hadn't gone off so I guees they would gave stood by the window or wrapped it in cling film.
The friendly, welcoming helpful staff. The large comfortable bed, good shower. Enjoyed looking out of the window at the attractive houses opposite and the bustling main road at the end of the street. The breakfast was good and bar area comfortable to have a drink. Prices in bar reasonable. The stansted airport national bus stopped a few mins away. A 10 mins downhill walk from Hampstead heath. Good bus links into town on Finchly road. Near railway station. Near shopping centre and restaurants.
No room service. The fact because we live in rural france and hadn't quite worked out the tube links found that the closest tube station didn't link up with the main northern and other main lines. Needed to walk from Hampstead tube as no bus after 11 pm but found once you knew where the hotel was it was easy. The first time though the hotel was not easy to find for us.
Relaxed atmosphere, good value and excellent location ( with good parking)
little or nothing
Location ie close to tube station and also small and quiet. Good English breakfast included
easy to find, free parking near tube, good breakfast, helpful staff
little bit of noise from street, but this is London
Staff were helpful. Breakfast was excellent.
Radiator takes a while to heat up.
Second room smelt of cigarettes
Lovely hotel. We enjoyed our 2 nights and had no complaints at all. Breakfast was excellent with a large range of food.
well situated near the tube quiet place, clean, basic breakfast but good value for money.
nothing...would go again
