Staff are excellent. Great service, well informed. There is free Wifi and plenty of free parking. The location is good and although right next to the a1, it is well enough back from the road and I wasn't aware of any traffic noise. Will stay at this hotel again and would recommend. The web site stated that the room had a trouser press. It didn't and when I questioned this I was told that an iron and board could be provided but no trouser press. This was one of the key reasons I booked this room as I was staying for two nights.

Convenient location for one-night stopover Staff ( with one exception) appeared only mildly interested in serving guests. Organisation of tasks especially at breakfast was slipshod.

Everything was extremely clean, staff were friendly, room was comfortable. I especially liked the fact that on the Sunday morning it was frosty and reception had a table of de-icer and scrapers for de- frosting cars.

The only thing that lets this hotel down was the breakfast or should I say the lack of it ,my husband had booked a nights stay with breakfast we were advised to go to at about 8 oclock as it wouldnt be very busy which we did when entering the restaurant we were asked to wait as there were no tables so we said we didnt mind sitting in the conservatory,my husband then went to get his breakfast and came back very dissapointed as there was barely any food left we were offered tea and coffee which we never recieved I on the other hand had nothing to eat as I was very dissapointed the way we were treated so I decided to leave we were offered a sandwhich when we had booked out which was then too late I feel that this is an area that they need to improve after all why charge for this when it was unavailible to us

Quiet atmosphere The long way to the room from the Entrance/Receiption. It is a heavy task to carry suit cases or heavy bags to the rooms. The way to the rooms is like "Tora Bora Caves".

The staff was really nice. The room was spacious and clean and the lobby is nice with a lot of sunny light. Considering the expectations for a hotel under its category, it is good to excellent. It's actually very close to the University of Hertfordshire (College Lane, 5 min walking).

Good location. Room size and facilities good. Very clean The bathroom light is operated by a sensor. The one in my room was broken which meant the light and the extractor fan was permanently on. The reception staff did not make any effort to consider repairing the unit that day and simply told me to make sure the bathroom door was shut to cut down the noise of the fan. This persistent noise ruined my stay

Bed very uncomfortable (2 single beds pushed together to appear as double). Bathroom smelled damp. Mould on shower shield. If this was a Superior room, I would have hated to have seen a standard room. The room was charged at £109, £50 would have been fairer.

Room was spacious. Restaurant is good. The hotel is a bit far from anywhere. The bathroom light is automatic, so it's bathroom fan. Often times both light and fan were on for hours before they stopped automatically. Probably because bathroom door didn't close properly. Internet connection was supposed to be free but there was only a 100mb welcome voucher. The regular 24 hours internet connection was
