staff pleasant / helpful

when there is a coach trip in on a saturday/sunday the service is not the same this has happened in the dinning room the last four times we have stayed. we stay regular for three nights over the weekend at the ibis reading.

Friendly, helpful staff. Very central location.

Near station and limited parking

Water-stained ceiling in my room with a hole in the cornice. Restaurant floor was disgustingly dirty but no staff came to clean it up or even apologise. Needs updating.

room 107 no bedside table at my side of bed.Broken sash cord on window .Room 121 tv not working only discovered this in the morning as we left. burnt sausages at breakfast let you down too. This was our fourth stay with you.,standards slipping!

Very limited, verging on the claustrophobic , room. Both my wife and I are rather largepeople with varying degrees of disability. But the lack of a bedside table on both sides of the bed, and the extreme narrowness on the window side of the room caused some degree of discomfort. As were only staying the one night we said nothing, otherwise, for future visits we will ask about room space first.

We stayed at the hotel as our daughter was in Hull Royal Infirmary for brain surgery. The staff at the hotel were very helpful and compassionate towards us and understanding of needing to change some of our arrangements. We had room service most evenings as not feeling up to eating out and the food was excellent as was the service.

Hotel could do with some refurbishment in some areas.

We were allowed to book in early. The decor . The age of the place. Closeness to the station my elderly mother was returning home to Scotland the next morning.

No one offered to help with luggage. My mother has to use stairs we were told there was one flight there were two. Basic things on the menu like coffee very expensive.Leisure facilities eg pool now closed/

The building is aesthetically pleasing, not like the atmosphericless Holiday Inn next door. The foyer is beautiful and comfortable and the staff are so nice.

Nothing not to like

The atmosphere, helpful staff, variety of food for breakfast even though I did not eat it, cleanlisess and general tidiness of the hotel overall.

The room was a little tired looking but otherwise comfortable. The bath mat had mould on the reverse. A replacement is needed.

Excellent location right next to railway station.

Within city centre

We stayed in room 111 nice room noise from outside of the hotel very very bad shouting till early early hours almost daylight and the swearing bad. Cars parking outside slaming doors shut a bad nights sleep was had if we stay in your hotel again it will not be a outside room thats for sure we travel a lot and thats the worst night sleep we have had . thank god our edinbrugh hotel was peaceful

Being unable to get in the hotel after 1am despite ringing the doorbell for the night porter as requested and dialling the hotel several times. Lack of empathy shown by duty manager and no follow up by the general manager after being told there would be.

I thought it was excellent value for money,right next to the station and in city centre

Traditional hotel very nicely decorated. Modern wallpaper but a lot of original wood features maintained. Fantastic real ale pubs in the old town.

Friendly helpful staff. Easy free parking right outside the front door. Asked for quiet rooms together and got them. Room clean and well equipped - pleased to have tea & coffee making facilities and reading light. Cooked breakfast was tasty, served quickly to us at our table and there was a good selection of fruit, cereals and pastries as well - excellent value for money,

Pillows a bit hard.

Quiet room, very convenient central location for museums, theatre, old town. Hotel car park allowed us to walk everywhere without the need to park elsewhere. All this made for a very enjoyable first trip to Hull.

The carpets and interiors of the lifts were rather worn and shabby.

Location is great for the station, breakfast was good and the staff very friendly but (she the single waitress) was understaffed and rushing about but she was good

Foreigners who where staying in the hotel where drinking vodka from the bottle late at night in the front (outside) of the hotel, a little bit nu-nerving for other guests
