We booked this hotel because of the cheap price. We were pleased with the size of the room and bathroom. Friendly staff. I think the road signs could be improved because the hotel is hard to spot in the dark. And wifi internet wasn't working in the room, - only in reception.

Not a lot. Needs a facelift - full of workman - more of a 'workers' hotel.

Excellent value for money - the hotel may be a trifle "tired" but facilities are good, including a swimming pool, and the rooms of a good size, quiet and comfortable, with good public rooms The hotel is strategically located, and offers pleny of parking

Good swimming pool, staff polite without being needlessly over friendly. Good for business trips no nonsense, but would also be an ideal reasonably priced base for holidays in that part of yorkshire. Do not be put off by the pretty grim exterior. Lots of parking space.

The fact that it has easy access to Leeds York Selby and Pontefract where we have family and friends makes the location ideal. The cost makes it a bonus, and breakfast is very good, Staff, albeit foreign, are very helpful and do actually have a smile on their faces. Coffee was disgusting.......and not enough of it the instant in the room we were staying in.......Was at one time on the a1 and very busy, now the road bypasses the hotel and it has loads of room and not many customers, it would be nice if it was a bit busier.....

I liked that we chose not to go for the inclusive breakfast I liked that we only stayed 1 night Heating not working properly Treadmills in gym are not safe and will cause injury to someone at some stage. Staff have a can't do and a don't care attitude. A deep clean is very much needed (although sheets, towels etc...were fine)

This is the 3rd time I have stayed at this hotel, location is good, the lesuire facilities are a bonus, rooms are big, comfortable and warm, all with en-suite,the breakfast and dinner are more than acceptable. Travelodge and premier inn have got to go a long way to equal this.

The room was a little worn, but clean and ideal for a stop over, during our trip. Food in the bar was good and reasonably priced. The main things going for this hotel are the price for a room per night and the very pleasant staff I encountered

The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and are the hotels main asset. Green project - not to refresh room in exchange for drinks voucher - is a very good idea and we took advantage of it. We used the pool which was small but clean and warm. Felt a bit tired.

“The hotel is a wonderful example of art noveau architecture - and in some ways is worth seeing just for that - the rooms are reasonably comfortable and the breakfasts fair value for money (though a new brand of coffee would be appreciated) - it is ideal for York city centre and is just off a main thoroughfare into York as fairly easy to get in and out of. Reasonable value for money” Howard, Penarth, Vale Of Glamorgan |
