Situated midway between Leeds and York on the A1 this hotel makes an ideal base. From the outside appears a little tired but the inside is different. matter. Right off the motorway but there is no traffic noise. Free Wifi worked very well and staff were very friendly and courteous. We had two room service meals during our stay which were excellent, plentiful and good value for money. Room itself was clean comfortable and had eveything we needed. We both slept very well. Overall it was excellent for our 3 night stay and brilliant value for money considering they have a swmming pool too.

Hi nicely located between York and Leeds so was ideal for a short break to visit this part of Yorkshire. The hotel staff were efficient and welcoming. The room was clean and comfortable and suited our needs for the night. Reasonably priced at £40 for the room for the night. Had tea/coffee facilities in room, which some of the more expensive travel hotel chains fail to provide.

Good food, good size swimming pool, comfortable lounge and room. The changing area at the swimming pool is a bit unclean. There is only one shower with no shower gel and is a bit dark.

Friendly with comfortable, well presented and clean rooms. With the added bonus of a swimming pool and free wifi. Good breakfast and all at a very reasonable price. The gym and changing rooms for the pool seriously need refitting but it is only really cosmetic. Some landscaping around the hotel would greatly improve the look as you arrive. Sorting out the potholes on the driveway leading to the hotel. Finally a tea pot and milk jug on the tables for breakfast. These things would greatly improve the experience, however they did not detract from our enjoyment while staying there. However It would greatly reduce negative feedback from more negative guests.

The swimming pool. The old tv in the room didn't work and had to be changed by another old one from another room. The sink was blocked and couldn't be cleared as it was a weekend so we had to move rooms the next day. The first room offered the key wouldn't work, the second room didn't have any heating. The third room was good. However the rooms need decorating - seals round the bath are black!, The floors are old and dirty.

It meet my needs in full and I would stay again in similar circumstances. I can't think of anything to criticise in a building of this age and design.

Most of the staff were very friendly and helpful Hotel is looking tired, old and in need of a refurb. Rooms are ok but bathroom was slightly grubby. They have a ''go green'' option that allows you not to have your room cleaned while you stay and they then give you £5's worth of bar vouchers. Great idea but its 5 £1 vouchers and you can only use one per drink and this is only told to you at the bar and is not in any of the literature. there was nothing really negative about the place and the staff were very good, however, I would be reluctant to stay there again simply because this place really needs a good overhaul.

The room was cold and the bathroom had no heating. I was told the heated towel rail(the only source of heat in the bathroom) was disconnected due to "health and safety" I thought heated towel rails were meant to be hot!! Poor quality service and food for breakfast.

Its close to my family in Garforth. It has excellent links to the a1(m). The pool though not the newest was excellent and very warm. Unfortunately the showers in the pool changing were cold so we had to rinse the chlorine in our room. For a room for four (2 adults + 2 children) only two bath towels were provided and we were charged for an extra towel for our children. The corridor in the north west wing, had a dampness / mouldy smell.

Excellent value for money - the hotel may be a trifle "tired" but facilities are good, including a swimming pool, and the rooms of a good size, quiet and comfortable, with good public rooms The hotel is strategically located, and offers pleny of parking

Good swimming pool, staff polite without being needlessly over friendly. Good for business trips no nonsense, but would also be an ideal reasonably priced base for holidays in that part of yorkshire. Do not be put off by the pretty grim exterior. Lots of parking space.
