Convenient location, quiet and comfortable room. The restaurant food (breakfast) quality was fair. The service at reception and restaurant was good. The bedroom looked modernised, but the bathroom door clearly was the old one. If it also had been replaced/upgraded the rooms impressions would have been further enhanced.

I was very impressed by the reception staff, who were very friendly but efficient also. We had a twin room and the beds were standard singles. The very crisp and white bed linen was nice but as there was no bed cover, it reminded me of a hospital bed.

5 star service at all times of contact with the staff, checkin , dinner, breakfast and checkout. Nice relaxing bath and King size bed in a quiet room after a hard day of touring around the countryside.

Clean rooms. They tried to charge us £25 for use of a cot, which should have been free.

I was very happy with my stay and would highly recommend. Only tiny blip was that I had asked for a room with Wifi but there was a mix up at reception and my room was changed; however I went back to reception and explained that I needed Wifi to do some work and they switched my room immediatley without any fuss. Meals and service were great, room was clean, warm and quiet. No complaints !

The information on the website was accurate, it was a budget, no frills but clean, efficient cheerful staff and hassle free. I liked that you gave a solo female customer an upstairs room without asking. Fruit choice for breakfast could be improved on, much appeared to be tinned rather than fresh, otherwise there was a wide selection.

Staff all very hospitable and friendly, very helpful, attentive. Room & public areas welcoming and comfortable, pleasantly modern design. Close to University. Harvester next door nice place to eat. Tv reception sometimes poor on some channels. More choice for eating nearby might have been good. Extending KinchBus sprint run from train station to hotel (one more short stop) would be very helpful.

We thought the hotel was fantastic and would definately use it again. The family room was the best one we have ever stayed in and the design was fantastic the way that the children had their own space. We would definately recommend this hotel to others. There was nothing not to like it was brilliant

Location is good, decoration in good order. Exceptionally noisy hotel. Was woken at 4am by people walking abound in room above and then at 5am and 6am by people in adjacent rooms. Appears to have no insulation. Will not be staying again!

The hotel was clean and well presented. Staff were friendly, courteous and helpful Breakfast provided an excellent selection of either continental or "English" options The evening meal was well presented and served The bed was fantastic ! The most comfortable hotel bed I've slept in. There were no stairs excellent for older people with mobility difficulties My overall rating for the hotel is very good, there were some failings however. The air conditioner and bathroom Xpelair were noisy which did spoil the otherwise excellent accommodation. Because of the single storey layout the room was a "walk" from reception - not a bad thing in itself but the corridor floors were incredibly noisy! It sounded as if you were on an old sailing ship with the groaning and creaking.

Staff were super helpful and friendly - really made my stay! Breakfast was fantastic too - great selection and huge coffee mugs to ensure you got a proper caffeine fix first thing! Very impressed with the room - giant beds and sleek design. Excellent value for what I paid.

“The location was excellent, we stayed there as I had booked my boyfriend in for a driving experience at Prestwold Hall and it was about 5-10 minutes drive. Aslo on the evening we wanted to go for a meal and to the cinema and the cinema was literally aound the corner about 5 minutes walking distance. We ate at an Australlian restaurant which was lovely and that too was about 10 minutes walk. Overall the location was absolutely perfect.” Leanne, York |
