The noise and building is run down
Staff very pleasant
Mould around bath. Loose taps on sink, no WiFi. Difficult to find car park. Did not feel safe
The location and the price were excellent!
Bathroom was poor! Bedrooms were vile!
location of hotel was good
hard to find hotel because of road works hotel was in need of updating
The location in the city centre was very good .Just minutes walk away from shops and theatre's Breakfast was very good . Comfortable bed .
Could do with some updating
very difficult to find actual reception
The bath wasn't very clean
Clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Free parking. Location in the city centre.
Noisy outside until late at night. Dated décor and facilities.
Location, room, cleanliness, beds extremely comfy
The entrance is not very inviting and some of the staff seemed "tired"
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is in a really good location.
The building and décor were extremely tired and it wasn't as clean as it should have been.
Staff were good breakfast was good
no lift to get to reception from the ground floor
Staff were very nice and helpful. Location good for where I wanted to be.
Tired Hotel Not the cleanest, maybe because its tired..... Location OK (ish)
Location, Staff. Good for those who arrive by car, nice parking on the first floor.
No lift from the street level to reception which is on the first floor. The hotel used to be grand one but has come on bad days now... a bit sad. It has great potential.
Mould everywhere, dirty net curtains, broken shower, chair covered in bodily fluids, carpet worn bare. Noise from the street terrible. Then a cleaner in the lift coughed all over me and she was covered in cold sores, she then leaned all over the reception desk sniffing and coughing. Not a nice place to stay.
Good location.close to the city centre.
wired lift, old facilities , rooms are not very clean
Location is ideal for the city, and free parking, that's about it!
It was probably a nice hotel many moons ago, however, it seems very run down, broken loo seat, defective light above the sink, uncomfortable bed, expensive bar. The casual way the cleaning staff reversed our door notice to 'Do not disturb' from 'we wanted maid service'! Not that this is the hotels fault, but be prepared for disturbed sleep, the noise from the street is constant throughout the night, revellers, traffic etc!
the staff were good as was the breakfast
The beds were uncomfortable not all the lights worked in our room as also the TV controller had no batteries. The bathroom door would not close properly and the bath panel was broken the hot tap in the sink would not allow the water to flow properly. All the room doors slammed shut as there was no slow close fittings on
Location for Newcastle centre is spot on maps given out by staff free were fab. hotel was close to metro and my wife enjoyed the stretch of legs walking to great north run start line. Breakfast was fine with a good variety of choice both in cereal or full english.
Couldn't find the car park till I parked then got the new postcode for entry. This would have been a problem for travellers in a wheel chair as front of hotel has steps on entry to reception and lift is only from reception accessed at car park at rear. room was clean but could have benefited from double glazing to help drown out street noise from nightclub emptying in the early hours.
Good breakfast and free parking
Probably needs upgrading a bit
Tired looking , cleanliness not great , shabby , grubby , dated.
Best hotel in Newcastle if your there to party! Atomosphere in the bar was brill!
Central location, yet still very reasonably priced. Room was large and they were fantastic for accommodating my dog for no extra cost. The staff were friendly and very helpful.
The hotel was a little bit run down but this is reflected in the price and had no adverse effect on my stay. The shower wasn't great either, the wall attachment didn't hold the shower in place very well.
The general state of the hotel. I did not feel safe.
Right in the middle of the Toon Always people to chat with in the bar For us, this was great
Right in the middle of the Toon Always people to chat with in the bar For others, maybe not
The location to the university and city centre was excellent
A chicken bone was located on the stairs for five days, wardrobe door fell off, had to wear socks to have a shower due to unclean bath.
