Room could use a renovation ;-)
Breakfast was lovely
It's an old hotel fair enough but could do better on the cleanliness
Uncomfy bed 2 soft for us
We were near to all shops ; pubs & train station
The windows in our room need sorting very draughty other wise room was lovely
We drove and got to address with post code via sat nav, pulled up at hotel went inside to find out where to park first impressions of hotel not good got to reception and car park on roof so got another postcode and then had to find it NOT EASY one way finally got there and parked up took almost an hour from getting to hotel in first place . If we had known car park not at postcode it would have saved alot of time as for hotel it seemed run down lifts and lift buttons not together!!!
Good location, friendly staff and decent breakfast, quiet for a city centre location
Terrible street entrance. Seedy. 2 long flights of stairs then through meandering rooms and corridors that might have been part of a car park to get to reception. No lift from street. Whole place overdue for a refit.
Staff were very helpful
Th hotel was to expensive. It was only worth paying 50% of what I paid
Right in the centre of Newcastle and close to where we wanted to be
A bit dated decoratively
The hotel was really central and near to where we needed to be.
Its very shabby. The lift button was on another wall so you need to press it then run to the other side. My mattress was not great and I felt like I was going to roll out at any minute. The staff were on auto pilot. On checking out the receptionist was monotone and as I was walking out he told me to have a good day as an afterthought.
Great location and good value
Really loud and busy road in front of hotel we were on the 2nd floor and could hear everything plus windows rattled most of the night
Location and great value. And, the crazy lift button!
Nice clean comfortable bed, tidy room nothing flash, good hotel for stag or hen night as almost next door to the gate or shopping and drinking weekend
Bathroom was tired in places bits of mould round windows just usual cheap hotel stuff but room itself was clean
The Breakfast was superb The location of the hotel was amazing For the purpose of the visit it was fine, IE just a place to sleep the location and the breakfast was a bonus. This hotel could be so much more
Really could do with a lick of paint and a bit of modernisation. The bathroom leaved a lot to be desired, I refused to use the bath itself, and the toilet did not flush properly.
I was traveling to Newcastle as a birthday present for my teenage son! He is a football fan and I managed to get tickets for the Chelsea match! I booked the hotel as it was central, close to the ground etc! Hotel is very run down and in need of a major make over! We were awakened bith nights with revellers coming back to adjacent rooms and continuing their parties! Rang reception at 0430 on the Sat morning but no one available. ..... staff were very pleasant when I was raising the issue kater that morning and provided the numbers of the staff that would be responsible for the next night! Although awoken the partying the second night did not go on as long.
Sorry, see above
Everything! This hotel is old run down & disgusting. Would not recommend it or use it again!
Only the Location.
1) There was mold everywhere in the Bathroom. 2) It was smelling cheap perfume and smoke cigarette at the same time. 3) Very cold environment. 4) Dust everywhere in the room. 5) Humidity in the windows. I did not even eat the breakfast that I had already prepaid. If I had that kind of room hygiene I do not want to imagine the quality of the food over there. TOTALLY unacceptable. I was sleeping with my clothes.I will ask for the return of my expenses booking.com.DO not go. I can provide photos of all mentioned above.
Location and free parking
Old hotel. Radiator didn't work so room was freezing.
Location to venue
needs to be upgraded. Not let it slide despite future plans of the buildings.
Spacious room Value for money
Bathtub was clogged, had to change rooms!
Was good location
Most things. Bathroom was filthy. Really bad smell off marawana in the room. Very noisey, was the kind of establishment were people ended up at the end of the night after a night out. Didn't feel safe.
Shabby in dire need of a refurbishment
Free car parking, excellent breakfast, good city centre location and good value for money.
Hotel looks tired. Needs full refurbishment.
Wright in the centre of the city
The bed the location
The place is tired and shabby, the décor hasn't changed since it opened
