Food was nice
Web photos didn't match actual, rebuild work going on extention where I was placed was dated and poor
Breakfast was good although only one young girl serving
The smell The smell The smell Beer was flat and tasted off
Plenty of parking helpful staff.
Interior decor a little dated in places.
- value for money when I rented. - location near to shopping complex.
- pics did not match actual hotel and sometime deceiving. - Staff are not aware (like £5 deposit for key other staff did not know to return etc. - Wifi is mostly not useful. - building bit old
The outside appearance of the building and mess including building materials let the property down somewhat
The Waitress had no clue as to what she was doing, and kept disappearing. The food was of a particularly low standard and although didn't see the chef, when the waitress went to him with requests / queries she came back with a curt reply from him. It actually became quite funny. Also I did take a picture of the curtails in my room, which when drawn one was nearly 3 inches shorter than the other. Didn't have breakfast there as I thought £10 was steep considering the standard of the food. I did find it quite strange that you couldn't charge to your room and when I came down to the bar / restaurant I had then go back up to my room to get a credit card. Although closer to my place of work, I will not be staying there again or recommend it to colleagues.
As I am disabled, the staff gave me a room in the main building rather than the annex
The room was on 2nd floor so had there been a fire and the lift not in use I would have been stuck
Old original fwatures
My bed was far to close to the corridor door (felt I had no privacy. Took an extra £5.00 deposit for key card which is fair enough only problem I was made to wait 10 uncomfortable minutes to have my £5.00 given back to me .. Embracing to say the least.
able to get hot food food was tasty eating place very clean and comfortable room was clean
toilet not working properly needs updating
The photos used to promote the hotel are unrepresentative in the extream The place is very run down The superior double was a joke No heating / shower that was no more than a dribble / bed and pillows that were so hard i perched on them The quite room that was booked was over the extractor from the kitchen
Some areas of the car park are in darkness, this is a security concern
The building has character and potential . Lovely setting . Comfortable rooms and good central location - reasonable price
Breakfast expensive and just ok quality . Wifi open source so restricted . Building desperately needs a paint and internal freshen up
Lack of Attention from Staff. We were left in the bar with staff present but just ignored. We waitied 30 mintues and no one came to ask us for drinks or food order. We then was told the chef was not taking any more orders as they were too busy, we had to wait a further 45 mins for food. there were 8 people in the restaurant!. We sat down at 7.00 and left at 9.15 with only Starters and Main courses ordered. There was no heating on anywhere on the hotel including the the room and the thermostat on button was broken on my radiator. I was given a portable hearter to carry myself back to my room. We will not be using this hotel for business use again.
Location was ideal for me and breakfast was enjoyable. Staff were polite and helpful when asked for information
Bar area was poor due to lack of staff. Food was awful and took sometime to be served. Seemed to be a lack of staff in the kitchen not that the food was worth waiting for!!!
A sunny sitting area downstairs
What a total disappointment. The pictures on the Internet look quite reasonable but it's certainly not what you get. Had to ask for a heater, no fridge, dingy room like out of the 60's.
Rotten rooms and baths staff no ideas two hour wait for Rubbish dinner avoid this like the Plague
The free wifi was nice when it worked. Other than that all I can say is the room was comfy. There is no elevator so we had to heave our suitcases upstairs. The bathroom could really do with an extractor as it was humid all the time and smelt damp. The caulking could also be looked at as it was a shoddy job whoever done it also both taps leaked constantly and the room just had a foysty aroma to it. Also the pics on the website make the hotel look like a huge grand house that pic is taken from the nice side as the parts what we saw make it look like an old hospital especially when u can see inside storerooms when u go towards reception, just little things that need to be done to be honest
I mentioned everything in my previous statement. Just don't book this place thinking it's a huge stately home as it isn't the pictures don't show you everything
friendly and helpfull staff nice big garden located in a quite neighbourhood, close to the main road. shopping mall close-by
shower was not working.
Away from busy roads
Really nice garden
On the bathroomsdoors there is a warning: Don't open the door after showering! Result: Fire Alarm going off several times during the night. In the morning reception staff didn't bring the subject up and when I did, they did not apologize.
The hotel is terrible, room not clean staff not helpful, ordered dinner and told an hour later pork is off, no substitute. Breakfast is a cheap buffet (better food at Tesco). Will never return here again or recommend
Lack of availability of items on a limited evening meal menu reception not manned for over 30 minutes in the early evening & other staff not aware of location of receptionist and unable to deal with guests requirements.
Good night sleep. Comfy bed
Dated decor Returned to our room on second night late to find the beds were un made from the day before.the coffee tea and milk had not been replaced.when i complained the lady at the desk just said she would check the cleaners paper work and found out they had not been to the room.i had no appology or no discount offered.VERY dissapointed ,would not return or recommend to anybody
This is not a 3 start hotel i would say 1star its dated, old and dirty in all areas and not worth £65 at all!
