Rooms a little dated

for the second year running we were given A room with restricted view on the first floor (scafolding still in place). also given A double bed not two singles as requested (grandfather and grandson)

Excellent location, outstanding sea views and easy to walk into city centre. Good breakfast and friendly staff. Bar meals excellent and very good value. Good bathroom.

Hotel is old and needs renovation but kept clean and tidy. Excellent value for money probably due to age of hotel.

The scaffolding surrounding the hotel. It would seem to be suffering from concrete cancer. Unfortunately some of the scaffolding was in front of our window on the first floor

Excellent location. Our room had a good view directly over the Hoe. Easy parking. 15 min walk to The Barbican. Breakfast buffet was ok.

Room was very tatty, particularly bathroom, and in need of maintenance. Bar area could have been ok, but the tv was on full blast on a Friday night which didn't make for a great atmosphere.

Fantastic view of Plymouth Sound. Good, comfortable room. Clean and tidy. Helpful, friendly staff. Excellent value for money. Good location for shopping, theatre, restaurants and relaxing walks along the Hoe.

The staff are polite and helpful. The food is good. The hotel is clean and pleasant. The price I paid was good value for money.

It was a good location and the room was clean

It was very tired looking, the reception staff (a lady) seemed unpolite. No where to get tea or coffee or refreshments till the bar opened at 3pm..

the fact it has not been knocked down yet or refurbished. Both options have been in the pipeline for years

The view was spectacular. The room was clean, warm & dry, the bed was comfortable, with clean, well aired sheets. The bathroom floor looked like a very expensive marble.

The hotel looked tired, and scruffy. It needed a complete refurbishment, both inside and out. There was a mini bar (empty), hair dryer,trouser press, tea making, all that you would expect from a top class hotel, but it was all old, and needed replacing.

View from bedroom. Friendliness of staff. Good quality of food. Value for money. Location and car park. Relaxing.

Bathroom fittings, need to be upgraded.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a wonderful position overlooking Plymouth Hoe.

The whole place is in need of complete refurbishment. I remember this hotel from 20/30 years ago when it was stylish and exciting. It is now a poor shadow of its former self.

Easy check in. Friendly staff . Good service.

The first impression with the scaffolding on the outside is a bit off putting but once inside things are different.

Hotel & room were 'tired', eg carpet threadbare, furniture dated. Breakfast was unexciting.

Helpful reception, the sea view form room fantastic, good breakfast.

Pleasant, comfortable room in which everything worked. Very convenient location on the Hoe within easy walking distance of town centre shops and restaurants, the Barbican and the international ferryport.

It's not luxury accomodation, but I find it perfectly adequate and, having stayed several times before, I knew what to expect.

Lovely views, rooms clean and beds comfortable - breakfast was lovely and very helpful staff. i left some shoes in my room and a memeber of staff posted them to my home address and they were waiting for me when i arrived home after travelling - what wonderful staff - thank you they have gone out of their way to be helpful.
