The view! I could have sat in the window and enjoyed the view all day! The hotel rooms were quiet, showers really good, facilities in room good. Free parking was a bonus. the look of the hotel from the outside- it didn't do the experience of staying there justice

We booked this hotel specifically for the sea view, which was stunning! In my opinion this hotel is tired and needs of a lot of money spending on it. The bathroom was miniscule and I hated the soap dispensers instead of proper small bars of soap, shampoo, etc. The curtains were scruffy and there was wallpaper hanging off the walls around the windowledges. Everything we touched and saw just looked like it had been "cut to the limit" with no T.L.C. for the customer whatsoever. However, if somewhere is spotlessly clean I can cope with anything, and the view was incredible! I can't recommend this hotel to friends because they are used to much better standards for the price we paid, but I may come back one day for the spectacular view!

It was our 53rd wedding anniversary and we had been to Plymouth on our honeymoon. We also wanted to visit Port Isaac. We had a really lovely three days and the weather was just about perfect.

Has a car park which is free whilst you stay there. The views are excellent and the rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast was plentiful with a wide variety of foods to choose from.

Have used this hotel several times previously. Rooms are always clean and comfy beds. Breakfast is great, views from dining room over harbour are fantastic and the hotel is in an ideal position. It's just a shame about the concrete exterior. I suppose this was the fashion back then but it does date the hotel somewhat. Not the most atractive building externally, but who cares when all you need is a bed, breakfast and a clean comfy room! Will be using their facilities again soon.

The sea view was excellent. Hotel was very clean. It has started to look a bit tatty. i.e the sofa in the room and the coffee table were worn and could do with replacing and the bed was a bit lumpy and hard. However was very clean. Breakfast could have been better.

Location easy to get into plymouth on foot. View from restaurant. Looked very tired, furniture was scruffy. Poor lighting, meant to tell reception staff about light on desk as it was dangerous but ran out of time. Breakfast was ok but not as good as it could have been.

Great location and I found the gentleman at the reception when I arrived amazingly helpful (I'd arrived from Chester without my wallet, credit cards or id!) This hotel is best described as a notch above traveloge but a notch below Premier Inn if that makes sense? Yuck yuck yuck what an awful breakfast and £11 for such horrible food! Such a basic breakfast, sausages dried up and extremely lacklustre selections... When I checked in I asked the receptionist why is the breakfast £11? (more expensive that the Hilton) they said its a buffet and you have a wide selection..... When I checked out I said 'that was not a £11 breakfast!' They said all they can do is pass the comment to the manager! Guess what I'm still waiting for the £11 back! It would have been cheaper (and better, much better) to eat a tesco breakfast for £1.50!

Originally booked city facing room but was upgraded to sea view when we arrived. The view over the Hoe and Drakes Island is worth seeing, staff were lovely, very helpful, even when we had checked out the following day we were able to leave our car parked at the hotel to walk to the shopping centre. Very handle for Plymouth Pavillions if you are seeing a show.

Comfortable room and clean for a competitive price. Would stay there again if I visit Plymouth. The exterior of the hotel looks awful. No idea how the planners approved such a building so close to the other buildings alongside the Hoe. Shame because the hotel inside is quite pleasant.

The views from the seaside accommodation are exquisite, the staff are friendly, polite, and very helpful in all aspects. Will be visiting again next summer if not before. Our complaint was that the breakfast was not at a standard as expected for the quality of the Hotel. Ie sausages poor quality and cooked in oven and made to go dry, no sign to say that you can have a fried egg if you so wished, other than that pretty good. The bar prices are too expensive as no persons were using it as some found it cheaper to buy outside and drink either in rooms or patio,( must come down.)

Very comfortable and perfect for visiting the Plymouth Pavilions!! Easy to walk to theatre, and great for shopping the next day. No complaints, but room could have done with a little maintenance. But overall really enjoyed stay and would definitely book again.

Location, convenience, price. Helpful staff. It's appearance from the outside - looks rather like a pre-cast concrete building from East Berlin. The concrete above the windows of the terrace dining room appeared to be disintegrating!

“Apart from being very good value, the reviews were very good for the hotel and that's always important. The staff were excellent - friendly and welcoming. The room although fairly basic was comfortable, warm and had everything we needed. Breakfast was good and the evening meals they are now serving were good quality and very good value. Weather whilst we were there was not great but the quality of the staff and the hotel made up for it. We will use the hotel the next time we are in Plymouth.” Christopher, Basingstoke |
