Only stayed one night, but everything was great! A pleasure!
Friendly staff, good breakfast, location
Every thing! Staff, room food, position.
good overnight stay and good restaurant
The character of the place
Not enough tea bags or milk in the room
Friendly and helpful staff Excellent air conditioning Immaculately clean rooms Good car parking
Noise of doors slamming at frequent intervals . This seemed almost deafening at times .
Relaxed atmosphere, very polite staff, very clean hotel and excellent quality bed. Both mornings I had difficulty getting out of bed, I was too comfortable!
I liked everything.
room 1st class breakfast 1st class staff 1st class very helpfull nothing to much trouble parking 1st class all in all a first class place to stay.
Very clean staff friendly nice bed
Car park was not very. Clear it was free to custermers small writing, food was not for me as been a celiac, only one towel each to last good job it was just for one night.
The only thing I could say is the floor boards need fixing in the room I stayed in very squeaky
Bathroom was nice
Large tv. Free wifi, but limited speed. Good soundproofing from motorway.
Overpriced. Didn''t include breakfast and cleanliness wasn't great - stains on one of the towels. On check-in the room had one almost empty loo roll for 2 people. Asked at reception for more but none was sent up. We weren't surprised as the girl on desk had no customer service skills whatsoever and clearly had no intention of assisting us.
It was clean, modern and located close to A1
Didn't realise it was so far to Newcastle which wasn't the hotels fault obviously. Wasn't the greatest prep for the GNR
The room was lovely but it was too hot. The air con did not have any effect and the window only opened a couple of inches.
spacious ,modern. Great lounge. Free wifi. Good parking. The staff were all so friendly and helpful.
Location spot on for exploring north yorkshire. Staff very friendly
Bed too hard. Restaurant food was a little bland and quite expensive. Bar prices expensive.
Location, cleanliness, price. Breakfast was good.
Bar staff in the afternoon seemed a bit alien to the concept of customer service. No crisps or nuts of any sort in the bar!
Noisy air conditioning and fans going on all night Poor view from window Workmen on site till 10 pm unloading van
staff very helpful. Despite the kitchens being moved the breakfast was still good and value for money as servings very generous
Room was a bit hot and if the window was opened it was quite noisey
room was above function suite , music went onto 1 am, no use. wouldn't stay there again
Comfort in room, air conditioning, bath etc, choice of pillows and extended check out time on Saturday morning - most significant point in my decision to stay at H.I. also the swimming pool facility
Probably only drawback was the walk outside to the pool into another building
Just to relax till the onward journey rooms where quite good
Not enough milks or sugar in room
nice place and food
Initially I was given a room already occupied by another guest, when I raised this at reception rather than apologise she tried her best not to let other guests overhear and totally ignored that she had made an error. The noise of the other guests in the bar at night was so loud it precluded sleep this went on until after 2am. Then the noise of other guests getting up at 6am was deafening to say the least. Average hotel (at the very best) unless you want to sleep then it is awful
Ideal for our purposes, just wanted somewhere close to A1 to break long drive to Edinburgh, good value for both accommodation and food, staff efficient. Just the job
Nothing significant, was exactly what we expected
