Good location Close to road networks, clean with helpful staff.
Bed was a uncomfortable. 2 singles pushed together to make a double.
staff were very good - polite and helpful food was good great having free wifi
rooms and breakfast very good
location not the best , industrial estate
food in restaurant wasn't bad
noisy late at night due to a wedding - do not stay at weekend unless your room is not on a corridor near the bar - mine was on ground floor - people running up and down until gone 2am
On arrival at the hotel approx 4-45pm I was informed that there was a "maintenance" issue and there was no room available for me the lady in reception stated that she had been trying to contact me all day on my house phone clever that being as I was in Wigan all day not impressed at all.
Good value for money, clean, quiet with friendly staff.
Restaurant waitress was a little inexperienced.
Breakfast & Restaurant layout was good. I liked the layout of bar area offering some privacy.
The climb out of the bath was awkward. I think this was down to the extended shower panel making the exit narrow with wet feet. A handle on the wall would help. I'm a fit & flexible 50 years and thought it hazardous.
Location is excellent, very convenient for the motorways. Food was good but the menu could be updated more frequently as business travel and nothing else near by. Biscuits in the room :-)
Wifi was flakey and slow.
They had messed up my booking but when I mentioned this they moved me to a room which met my requirements. This was done with speed and graciousness .
The location is hard to find and looks a bit like you are in the middle of an industrial estate. However the hotels actual land is quiet and beautifully landscaped. It is also very convenient for the motorways, it is just a few minutes from the m6
Clean comfort of our room, slept very well. Location excellent.
Restaurant manager abrupt at breakfast, borderline rude! My husband calls it lack of flexibility.
Wedding we attended was nice, building lovely.
Too expensive, breakfast wasn't great, the room was too hot and other guests complained about this too. Bed not very comfortable to sleep on.
The room was clean Breakfast was good and so were breakfast staff
Staff were texting when I was just finished checking out and hadn't finished being able to ask for information. Food in the bar was dreadful - a hot beef sandwich was in buttered sliced bread with microwaved beef. It was cheap tasting and not nice to eat. Room was far too hot and didn't have a bath - windows when open lead to traffic noise. Strong over powering smell of air freshener in all corridors was awful.
The old structure was well integrated into the new addition. The rooms were comfortable with the king size bed I requested. The food was good and well presented.
Staff seemed in short supply at times, no one in the bar at 7.30pm on a Friday night and the bell not answered. A long wait for my bill, the receptionist was taking a booking on the phone and 2 people waiting. The overhead shower head in room 4 was black and in need of a clean.
The willingness of the chef to cook what I wanted for breakfast.
The complicated taps for the shower. Why does an English bathtub have to be so high. Having been told at 7 50 a.m. that the room was needed for 9.00 a.m.
best suited to business travelers - booked purely on location
Bar and dining areas were soulless - food OK but breakfast eggs etc. were cold...
Nice hotel, room was clean, Hotel staff were friendly and helpful, food was great , all in was good value for money
Good location, easy to find, plenty of free parking. Good shower.
Replenishing of breakfast items was rather erratic!
Lovely old building, done up to be comfortable and modern. Attractive grounds, nice beer patio which we didn't have time to use unfortunately. Comfortable and well-appointed rooms and good breakfast.
Wi-fi signal a little weak in our room, so cut out from time to time. I suspect other areas of the building may be better. Located in an industrial estate which was odd! However, it meant it seemed very peaceful.
Pleasant atmosphere. Friendly staff & nice quality food!
the very peaceful nights sleep - I could hardly believe it what with a motorway just next door!
the fizzy beer. Oh dear, please get some real ale on tap.
everything was verygood going back soon xx
room 47 the noise from above was unbelievable ? to the point where you couldn't watch TV from 5.30 till past 9.30 at night. WI FI was non existent in that area and all complaints were ignored with a shrug of the shoulders from staff
There was so much noise children running around from the moment we arrived. Doors slamming. The noise continued until 3 am Where were the night staff? We complained to reception who were very apologetic however the whole experience was not peaceful. Breakfast was fine however no milk was brought to our table with the tea and coffee I left the table to ask for some and was told there were no milk jugs left! Not the standard we have previously experienced. There was mould in the shower and around the bedroom window. All it needed was a good clean. The bed was uncomfortable.
