The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and tidy but my bed was not very comfortable and there was a buzzing noise all night - possibly from the lights in the hallway - which I found a bit distracting. It was very nice having the pool etc on-site. Uncomfortable bed.

The girl at the front desk was really warm and welcoming. The rooms were hot but it was brilliant because it was so cold outside. The room was really nice and cosy, all very clean. It was close to the clubs and bars and the taxi cost around £4. The train wasn't that noisy at all. You can hear it but not enough to keep you awake. Really enjoyed my stay. Only the fact my partner was ill the next day and we were charged for not checking out on time. But this was expected.

It is convenient for Cockfosters underground The sight of a man weeing up your outside wall when we arrived The noise in the corridor during the night until 5am from the wedding party I appreciate that this was one off but it should have been controlled The proximity to the trains running through the night as the noise came through the air grid in the room My husband does not want to return but I would for the convenience of access to London

The good choice of food available in the restaurant. Very far out from the town. Extremely hot in the bedroom had to put on air con all night and that was in November.

The reception & restaurant staff were courteous and helpful. Public areas are very clean and new-looking. Breakfast was self-service buffet- style and included continental and 'full english' options. Ample car parking space. Buses into St Albans (5 minute ride) stop near the hotel. I think our room was in the original part of the hotel. We'd asked for a twin room, which we got, but it felt cramped. However, the bathroom was clean and spacious. Floorboards in the room and the corridor outside creaked loudly whenever walked on and the railway line serving St Albans was just across the car park at the rear of the hotel. Noise from the trains didn't let up until midnight and started again around 6 A.M.

The hotel is easy to find and only a mile from the centre of St Albans. The bedroom was clean and had everything we needed. The breakfast was excellent. The bathroom was compact. Our room didn't have an opening window, perhaps a good thing as there is a busy railway line behind the hotel! We found the pillows quite hard.

Comfortable and good facilities. No problems this time but over holiday periods the lower ballroon music can go on late at night.

The gym was good and the bar area very sociable. They put young ladies in single ground floor rooms with unsecure windows and would not swap rooms around. Bar should stay open later especially when there are at least seven people wanting to buy more drinks!

Very annoyed that staff blocked parking spaces in the evening for a meeting in the morning. Particularly as I left long before the meeting commenced (7.00am)

Room was comfortable and clean. Food in the resturant was good. Staff were polite. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Tea and coffee only available in the bar at certain times and in the circumstances highly priced.

“Well-run, clean, comfortable hotel one minute's walk from cathedral, 10-15 min walk from station. It was pleasingly quiet, especially considering its central location on a main road. Cafe Rouge next door - its menu is available as room service. Staff were helpful and tolerant, seeing that we arrived somewhat the worse for wear after a function.” Alex, London |
