Close to St. Albans and London. The pool and the sauna were nice extras. The room smelt as those previous guests had smoked in the room. |

We only stayed for one night. We found it very welcoming and would stay again if we were in the vicinity. |

It was convenient for the town centre& it was quiet & relaxing. The first room we were allocated was very disappointing as it was smelling of smoke ,the bed linen did not look fresh, the toilet had not been cleaned very well also the wardrobe door was loose Thankfully we were given a room move |

The location of this hotel to the City was very good. I only had breakfast at the hotel which was of a very high standard with lots of variety to tempt most palets. The sole member of staff on duty in the restaurant was very friendly and efficient. I stayed in a single room (which I assumed would be a double room for single occupancy as in most other large hotel groups not the case here I am afraid) the room was small and univiting and half of the single bed was obstructed by the wardrobe giving a very claustraphobic feel. The bathroom in this partcular room is in serious need of modernisation. The staff were friendly although check-in took some time as the reception staff member was dealing with a long winded telephone enquiry, perhaps a call back would have been appropriate. |

Checking out! could not wait to leave. The chef should be sacked the food was awful, the soup was like baby food and the main course was dreadful. The bedspread smelt old and 'musty' the bathroom had mould in the grouting. The tea and coffee making 'tray' had a dirty cup on it and a kettle that looked so old I was surprised when it actually boiled - after some time. |

The position was exellent and the staff great. The facilitie were all there but varied in quality. However the things wrong were minor quibbles. The TV kept switching itself off until it had warmed up (10 min) even after the helpful duty maager changed the remote's battaries which he said was the problem. The floorboads creaked so much someone walking up the corridor (of floor 2) woke us up.My wife also could ot get hot water above lukewarm at night. |

The location of the hotel was ideal for where I was going that night and the bar staff on the saturday evening was extremley nice & helpful! I felt that the receptionist on our arrival was not very friendly and the breakfast was not worth getting up for. |

Room was clean and tidy, all the required facilities were present and correct. Breakfast was of decent standard. The single room I stayed in was slightly small and cramped. |

The room was clean and of a reasonable size. The breakfast buffet was trully first class. The room was cols and the hotel heating timed to come on too late. However, the staff provided a room heater along with the explanation. |

The welcome from the staff was very warm and everyone was very helpful. The lounge area was basic but light, airy and fairly pleasant. The breakfast was good. Though the pool area was basic, it was quiet and we enjoyed a relaxing swim. The sauna was good. The bedroom furniture and furnishings were very dated and tired looking. The bathroom window did not open or close easily - one side of its sash was broken. |

Excellent location, only 15 mins walk to centre of St Albans...Very good choice of food at breakfast...as items ran out,the staff kept replacing everything quickly and they were very busy. Good parking facilities. Friendly staff. The air conditioning was extremely noisy. Would be better to have a window that opened instead. |

We had access to our room earlier (very handy). Staff opened the bar for us as we had time to kill. Breakfast was lovely. Not rushed out at check out time - very pleasant stay. A bit tired & dated in decor (bedrooms). Swimming pool lining was peeling. Found someone elses prune stones on my breakfast side plate! |
