Mercure Wigan Oak Hotel  

Fantastic value for money. The room was large, clean and very well equipped. Lovely bathroom. Bed extremely comfortable and the whole layout of the room was very well thought through. The staff were very efficient and friendly.

Location

Lack of hot water in the room. When I complained I did not get a satisfactory reply.

It saved a long journey from another better hotel/town to get to the Wigan Football Ground

Dated. I stayed in this hotel nearly 15 years before and it has not altered at all. The food was poor and limited. Rooms still have a single electric heater, which works but cannot be the least eco friendly.

The staff are friendly and efficient. The free WiFi throughout the hotel is a bonus as some hotels restrict this to the lounge areas. Rooms are smart and modern.

In view of the fact that breakfast is available at various places (supermarket/cafe) nearby, at a ,lower price, I feel that including breakfast in all room rates would be a good idea.

Location and value for money

We were staying at the Mercure because it was close to friends who we were having Christmas lunch with. The hotel is lovely and clean and the staff were very welcoming. The room was comfortable and suited our needs very well.

I liked everything I experienced on my one night stay at Mercure Wigan Oak Hotel. I particularly was impressed with the dining room staff some of whom I personally thanked and indicated my intention to compliment the hotel and the staff in particular.

Good position of hotel, clean throughout.

Overpriced restaurant, serving low quality food, would never eat here if we stayed again!

Excellent value for money, I did not make full use of the hotel facilities as I was running late on business, but the standard of room and facilities was very good. Clean , comfortable and I would certainly use again. Only negative which is possibly because I was delicate the next morning is the loud radio at 9am on the coridoor. But overall very happy!

Food, Every year stay in this hotel(5years) as a group, but we never eat there because the food isnt great, we have our lunch dinner elsewhere we told the member of staff 5years ago but nothing has changed.
