I stayed in a "Quiet" Superior Room on the 4 th Floor. The view was not excellent as it , overlooked the back of the hotel but the room was quiet and I had three good nights sleep. Breakfast was a buffet style so great for all appetites, although not excellent it was filling and set me up for the day. Free Wifi, Complimentary beverages and pleasant staff. Altogether a good hotel. I have already made a booking for a return trip in October. The only complaint I had was that the hair dryer was fixed into the top drawer of the dresser and altogether too awkward to use. I actually purchased a cheap hairdryer in Town.

The decor comfort cleanliness were excellant. The breakfast was beautiful and fresh.Would definitely stay again. At check in we were not asked to register our credit card so when we went to the bar later for a drink and wanted to book it to our room we then had to go and do this.So did many other guests. The barman seemed to be doing other jobs so was not always available to serve which meant a long wait. There were 8 cocktails on the menu but only 2 available. At 5-30pm there was not a restaurant menu available to view so we decided not to eat there. Athough the food at breakfast was very fresh there wasn't a great choice of fresh fruit.

Town centre location so only 10 minutes walk to train stations, pubs & restaurants. Very comfy bed and good room facilities. Cobweb on the curtain pelmet to the ceiling. I stayed for 3 nights and decided to leave it to see if it was cleaned but it was still there when I left.

Location and room size very good. Bathroom - WC seats felt very cheap (thin plastic). Breakfast - no fresh fruit salad, tinned. £8.00 if booked ahead but £13.95 if taken on the day, I thought £8.00 was too much.

I found the hotel to be ideally situated in the Town and close to Haig Hall where I was attending a wedding. The hotel was very clean and comfortable rooms. I would recommend it to anyone. I felt that the room prices should include breakfast and not charge extra for a basic meal

Clean room, quite, and located right beside town centre Wigan Oak boasts WiFi and it has WiFi. In 2012 WiFi is by far the most important facility but the Wigan Oak system is pathetic. I had to wait until day 2 to get a code from reception - then every time I left the hotel I had to type in the long code and long password to re-enter the system. I take this as deliberate unhelpfulness and obstruction - planned to reduce the business level in the hotel so that it will fail and close down - and I detest not understanding why this is the aim of an otherwise v convenient hotel. Secondly - breakfast seemed to have plenty of staff and no one in charge. I asked for HOT tea and was brought warm tea. No cup and no milk, and I got these off another table while staff watched. Suggestion - eliminate all your Wifi codes and make it available freely and easily.

The bathroom floor being tiled, it was extremely cold when on bare feet . Perhaps one or two bathroom mats would help!
