Restaurant very good
2 beds stuck together and 2 duvets zipped together rather than a double
Breakfast let our stay down .
The menu and the food had improved a lot since last I stayed there.
having to wait outside in the pouring rain for the night porter to let us in after our night out.
nothing really would not go to Wigan again
The hotel was having Xmas parties at the time we stayed in the hotel when we came back there were horns honking in the car park and loads of people outside drinking, at that point someone threw a glass which landed and smashed at my wife's feet. Could have been a lot worse I have since complained to the hotel group but still not had a response.
Had a great location ,staff were excellent ,bed was good room was fairly clean too .
Room was very cold and took long time to heat ,could of been cleaner but couldn't ask for much more at that price
Good central location. Very clean and comfortable. Complimentary daily newspaper. Bed very big. Bathroom modern and very clean. Nice and quiet. Didn't have breakfast so can't comment although £8.00 is maybe a little high. Spacious car park. Reception staff very pleasant. Was out all day so only there to shower and sleep so can't comment on bar facilities etc. the price is very reasonable for the standard of this hotel.
Someone had been smoking near to our room in a non-smoking hotel. This was the only negative.
Dated Cold Poor upkeep outside Tatty outside
The location was good for us , as family lived less than a mile away , the room was clean & warm & comfy bed , plenty of choice at breakfast, polite staff
Only one disabled room, which was fine , we had two disabled in our party, so that could be improved to cater more for them . Very heavy doors to open at reception , & doors to rooms . Not a complaint , but not disabled friendly if not able to use arms .
Good location to town centre
Quick check in.
Door card very tricky to enter room, and shower was a trial,as I had to get maintenance to show me to get hot water, because there were no instructions.
Room was amazing, breakfast was lovely, staff were polite and welcoming, top hotel at a great price! The Chinese buffet is approximately a 2 minute walk, great food at a great price! Thanks, definitely staying here again!
Didn't have any toothpaste in the bathroom, other than that it was amazing!
The cleaner letting herself into the room without even knocking an hour before we were supposed to check out!
We called to book Christmas lunch on Saturday 6th December and the receptionist advised we did not need to book just turn up there is plenty of room. On arrival with our in laws who live in Wigan and are in their mid 70s we were advised rather abruptly by restaurant staff they we had not booked and the Christmas lunch was not available. This was very disappointing, frustrating and upsetting for my in laws.
staff looked totally unorganised and disinterested , we paid for breakfast on arrival , but this was challenged whilist we were eating it, as the receptionist had not done the paperwork correctly .
Location of hotel was very good for where I needed to be and travel distance from my place of work.
breakfast served and finished too early.
Staff seemed nice enough as walking through on the morning of departure. They all said morning.
Cracks to plaster in bathroom and mattress seemed to be lacking support right on the edge. Lift not working in the evening and following morning.
Price, staff and comfort
Towels and laundry were clean but smelt very bad.
The room was comfortable. And the bathroom was nice and clean. Definitely coming back here.
The bed was to wide.
Friendly, helpful staff. Huge, comfortable bed in a nice clean room. We were able to check in early, which was very convenient.
Noisy, drunk people arriving at 3-4am. Smoke alarm sounded at 7am and repeated several times. (We decided to leave early and go home to complete our sleep.) Not entirely the hotel's fault as this is a town centre hotel and it was Saturday night but be warned.
I have stayed here several times before and have always had a comfortable and pleasent stay. The Hotel provides very good value for money and I look forward to returning soon. I was very impressed by the young gentleman who served us at the bar, not only was he very polite but he was also very hardworking, professional and even recommended a local curry house for my wife and I (at our request to him) which too was very good.
Perfect Location, room was spotless and very comfortable, the staff very helpful and friendly.
Rooms and services
Smell of cigarettes smoking was overwhelming .
Comfy bed good wi fi
Breakfast terrible. Lots of reserved tables we were unable to use. Then shown by a member of staff to a table in the conservatory that was still covered in dirty plates. Had to get own cutlery, and hardly any breakfast items available even though there was still half an hour of service left. Then a comment was made by the waitress about the number of fried eggs we had.
It suited its purpose-was there for the races, Only cost £50 It was clean
Rooms & beds looked bigger on line, My bed creaked everytime I moved( reported to reception on departure-room115,bed nearest the door). Breakfast was £1 dearer than quoted on phone & sausages were way overcooked
