Centrally situated and within the historic city walls, this modern, 100-bedroom hotel is ideal for all travellers, and features a restaurant offering an extensive menu to suit all budgets.

Located in the city centre, Hotel 53 regularly offers leisure breaks and short break deals, and is the ideal place to stay when visiting York. Less than 2 miles from York Racecourse, the glass-fronted, 6-floor hotel is furnished in a warm, minimalist style. All rooms have pay video, a hospitality tray and a large walk-in shower. Disabled and twin bedded rooms are available on request.

Conference suites with air conditioning, natural daylight, ISDN video conferencing and wireless internet access are available for both day / 24-hour meetings.

The restaurant offers an extensive dinner menu to suit all budgets. Dine early before sampling York's lively nightlife or enjoy relaxing in our bar area before taking a later candlelit dinner. Continental and full English buffet style breakfasts are available each morning.

Clean, modern, well equipped, friendly and helpful staff and easy walk to the city centre

The wireless broadband signal was very poor and kept dropping out and there was a lot of noise in the street outside at around 2-2.30 in the morning, not the hotel's fault but it did wake me.

The room had little in the way of facilities such as drawers and wardrobe.

Clean and comfortable

For the price we paid, breakfast really should have been included. Our booking information said we would have to check-out at 11am, but we had to be out by 10:30am. We were unable to check-in until 2:30pm. I feel £150 is rather obscene for a 20 hour stay with or without breakfast.

Clean, friendly and comfortable + only 5 mins walk from the city centre, also parking directly opposite, i would stay there again.

Close proximity to city centre. parking facilities. staff friendly.

only 1 plug socket available in room. no fridge for cold drinks. no wardrobe which made the room look untidy all the time. bathroom not very clean.

Staff were pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was excellent with good choice and room was clean.

It would have been helpful if our room had two chairs. It was a double room for two people and is not comfy sitting on bed for any length of time.

There was not a lot of storage,i didnt like their idea of a wardrobe.
