Pleasant, comfortable and quiet room. Excellent breakfast. Would be good to provide another peg or rail in bathroom for damp towels.

3 mins walk from town centre albeit not a very scenic walk; hotel bar area / foyer; plenty of teabags in the rooms; beds comfy; breakfast is pretty respectable No hotel parking, not even a space to pull in and unload/load bags except on double yellows; small rooms; no wardrobes (open hangars);

Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Left undisturbed during our visit. A simple piece of artwork on the room wall would be nice! Absolutely no pleasantries from staff on checking out - not even thank you and goodbye.

The bedroom was modern and spotlessly clean, and the bed really comfortable with a deep good quality mattress and crisp clean sheets. The bathroom had a large walk in shower, large fluffy towels and lovely complimentary toiletries. The hotel lounge and bar area is modern with lovely comfy leather chairs and sofas.

a lovely modern looking building we booked a double bed but got two singles joined together, but also there were two seperate mattresses and they where different heights so not very comfortable for a couple at all! windows seemed very thin, even the rain kept me awake, might have been unlucky and got a bad room?

Clean and well positioned for the centre of York. Shower ran out of hot water on one occasion and wasn't very powerful.

The front desk staff were very friendly and the cleaners were helpful/friendly too. The room was too warm and dry for our liking. The shower didn't drain quickly enough; water pooled in the shower. It was kind of gross.

The location of the hotel was closer to York city centre than I thought, so this was a pleasant surprise. Upon arrival I would have expected a more happy welcome from the reception staff and unfortunately I did have a bit of trouble understanding the gentleman due to his foreign accent and quick speech when advising me of the £30 holding fee charged to my debit card for any extras/damage. Our room was lovely but wasn't overly warm...even with the heater on, not enough milk for tea making.

The hotel is in a good location and is around 5 minutes walk into the town centre, the rooms were very spacious and comfy, the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Their was a good choice for breakfast and it was very nice. The hotel does offer parking but don't have a lot of spaces but their is a carpark bout 5 minutes walk called q Parking, it only costs around £8 for 24hours! My partner and I enjoyed out stay here and will definitley be going back.

Location was pretty good - 10 minute walk from centre (although small city!) Parking was an extra and charged at £10.00 per night, so although quoted price for room was £275.00 the full price ended up being £300.00 and £100 per night for a basic hotel room without breakfast is not great value. Also, we booked a double room, but the 'double bed' was made up of two single beds pushed together.

The hotel was not too far to walk into central York with the sight- seeing on your doorstep and close to some nice restaurants. Rooms Clean The hotel was very basic no bath, no curtains; only a blind to which a lot of light gets through. The hairdryer was hidden in a drawer and no reference to its location. The room was very hot; no air conditioning (only a window) The location of our room was very noisy - from the road and deliveries/food preperation etc. It is rather expensive for the standard of the hotel!

The walk-in shower was good. The room was very hot and the noise through the night was enough to keep me awake for long stretches of time: noisy guests, people knocking on doors in the middle of the night; vehicles coming and going in the early hours.

Very comfortable bed Room looked out onto building so very dark - could only see what weather was like by peering up close to window. . Noise from traffic continuous - no double glazing. Noise from bar opposite until early hours so no sleep. Room very small. Bathroom had shower only no bath. No towel rail. No closet. No mini bar. No help with luggage. Poor buffet breakfast. Hotel rates suggested some degree of luxury which was not evident other than the bedding and towels which were excellent. But a few good fittings etc don't compensate for a small, dark, noisy room.

It was in a handy location. The exterior could be mistaken for an office block. The interior was described as modern, but in reality was without any decoration. The plain white walls in the darkened room were unwelcoming. The sound of the kichen fans were overwhelming. We were put in the disabled room and despite complaints couldn't be moved. Beware of the £10.00 car park fee. This hotel is overpriced.

“The Minster hotel has really improved since our last visit 3 years ago. There has been extensive refurbishments and the room that we had on our visit was first class. Breakfasts were made to order and were of a good standard. It is in an ideal location for all that the city of York has to offer.” Andrew, Boness |
