the location of the hotel was excellent at the base of one of the most beautiful mountains in the world. The hotel staff where homely, friendly and very helpful at all times. The bar facilities where very much welcomed on the return journey back from reaching the spectacular summit of snowdon. My apartment was cosy and clean and my creme bath was a pleasure after a long days walk. My orthopaedic bed was extremely comfortable and definitely aided my good nignts sleep ready to face a new adventure the following day - go ape!. The facilities to make a hot drink and watch television were very welcome too. I would always recommend this hotel to my friends and family as it enhanced a wonderful weekend of adventure and fun!

Value for money and the quality of the room - very good indeed.

Decor was a little tatty in places... That's about all really- certainly didn't spoil the stay at all.

Myself and my wife found the staff to be very friendly and helpful and the location of the hotel is second to none for walking in Snowdonia and proximity to the town was also a bonus. We had to book a twin room initially because there were no doubles available for the first couple of nights but when a double became available we were moved with an upgrade at no extra cost for the rest of our stay. We really appreciated this. Thanks for a wonderful holiday.

Very convenient situaion as visiting relatives and a little site seeing. The staff were very good and helpful in general.

The cleanliness was at best average, the room was quite noisy with banging doors etc, We ate in the hotel and the salad had a small snail, when we told the waiter he apologised but did nothing else. The room had no toilet paper which we had to chase up on two occasions to get some.

Very convenient location to serve as a base for holidays in Snowdonia - especially for walkers on Mount Snowdon. The hotel is situated on outskirts of Llanberis, almost opposite station of Snowdon Mountain Railway. Ruined castle, Slate Museum and lakes nearby. Hotel has an air of faded grandeur but good value. Decent dinner and very good cooked full Welsh breakfast.

Most staff very helpful but there was one grumpy bar man who did not tell us about half price drinks available during "happy hour" until after we had ordered and he had served some non-reduced items! The small supplement (£2.50) for cooked breakfast seems petty. This could be included in b&b price and thereby avoid the bother of collection and administrative costs.

Nice rooms with lovely bathrooms. Good value for money. Great bar food. Friendly staff.

Hotel slightly threadbare. Restaurant very expensive.

We had a problem with our room and with some guests within the hotel. The management sorted out the problem immediatley, moved our room and upgraded us and ensured a comfortable stay for us. The staff and service was excellent.

Liked location to mountain railway. Rooms clean.

New block is way too far from main hotel facilities. Restaurant is awfully over priced.

Affordable good place to stay with your family and relax couple of days.

When we specified that we are travelling with one 5 years of kid the room allocated to us was not big enough or there was no separate bed for my kid.
