The hotel was condemmed, when we arrived the lift was closed down by the fire inspectors, there was no kettle in the rooms, the rooms were very damp and smelt musty the toilets would not flush, when we asked to see the manager we were told the he was not on the premisses and had not been seen for 2 days The only reason the hotel was allowed to stay open was that it was fully booked for the Scottish racing weekend but we did not see many people in it I felt sorry for the staff one girl doing all the rooms and two doing shifts on the reception desk. We tried to get our money back (we had to pay in cash on arrival as the machine for the cards was not working,)??? I am glad to see someone takes note of customers views. Thank you.

I have never stayed in a more disgusting hotel in my life, ive been to a few.On arrival we were told our room was ready, the bed had been thrown up and on inspection yellow urine stains were apparent on the sheets. The bathroom was gruby and had not been cleaned and this was meant to be ready. At breakfast next morning I observed a gentleman laying a table,he removed a knife from the basket, looked at it,wiped it on his shirt and set it on the table for use.At this point we got up and left ,this place should be shut down.

Staff were very friendly and made the stay a pleasant one. The room was very good and recently decorated. The hotel location in the centre of Ayr means it is close to all amenities. We enjoyed our stay here/

I kiked the warmth of the room, but the television was not working properly so we didnt get to watch other than that it was fine. Staff where very accomodating and freindly. No television to watch, sometimes the heat was a bit much ( but just opened a window) better warm than cold 8-)

Staff very friendly and location very central for shopping and leisure. The bathroom required a makeover especially the shower units, the Hotel is a beautiful building with enormous scope and potential...but it does need meaningful investment.

Price was more expensive than quoted. Had to pay full price for breakfast for 18month old child. Couldn't supply evening meal as no chef. Lack of staff on duty. Had to use bar sitting area upstairs yet go downstairs for drinks. Lift not working (had to carry a pushchair & baby 3 flights of stairs. Overall the overnight was a disaster. Will not be back & will not recommend to anyone. Payment had to be made at check-in rather than check-out?

Good location, situated in town centre so close to shops, restaurants, bars etc. Reception staff good. Good price for what we got. Arrived on a really cold day in December, given room which had no heating on and bed had not been made up properly. Asked to be moved and the girl at reception was very apologetic and immediately tried for another room, after going to 5 different rooms we were eventually given a family room which was still quite cold but she did provide an additional electric heater which helped a bit.

Convenient for train as that was our reason for staying We arrived and were giving a room with broken shower and could not get television to work so when I reported it to the receptionist she kindly gave us another room. We were not advised where breakfast was served and when eventually finding the Arran Suite we waited 25 mins to get served. So on a whole it was convenient for our needs but wont stay there again

Having stayed at this hotel before we were looking forward to our weekend away without the kids ,arriving on the friday to book in I was surprised when the receptionest asked for the cash for the rooms up front as the card machine was,nt working , we should have known then what the hotel was going to be like, prevously to our arrival we recieved a letter to tell us we were valued customers and offering us a special deal for dinner and breakfast as they had a new menu and new chef ,that was another mistake on our part taking this offer up as there was two choices per course and if you can call a budget price gammon steak with four boiled potatoes and a plate of peas that tasted like bullits if thats quality cuisine well im a monkey,s uncle.then when we asked for a drink with the meal, the waiter had to run down two flights of stairs to the bar on the ground floor as the bar next to the resturant was closed during our full stay , and as for the breakfast the least said about that the better, needless to say we never ate in the hotel again during our stay ,all in all the hotel waisted our weekend away, from the staff to the resturant all was of poor quality with no service and the hotel has certainly went down hill from our last visit, and this one will certainly be our last
