The Reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. The rooms in the hotel were very warm, which was a welcome relief as the weather was abysmal. The rooms were large and comfortable and the decor was pleasant. Really hot showers!

The fact that the windows would not open was not so good as it did get rather stuffy the next day when the sun came out. Keep the door open for ventilation!

Apart from location.. Nothing !

It was very very basic Television didn't work They had no drinks licence It hadn't been decorated since the boer war Security was poor

The smell of both rooms that we booked made us vomit . The bed didn't have a cover on mattress.The towels smelt like they had been left in a smoking room. The windows rattled all night and one pane missing and only ane section of secondary glazing in place. The tv only had two channels.The bathroom smelt of urine and toilet seat dirty, there was no safety rail in bath. We went to a local pub and they hadn't known you were open again and believe me you shouldn't have bothered. Couldn't find a member of staff after paying therefore had to stay, also in morning met with a notice to leave keys.

Victorian 'shabby-chic' - though the dining room and residents bar were far from shabby, a comfortably decadent feel about the place with lots to do and places to visit close by.

Pity the lift was out of order - Hercule Poirot would have loved it!

The hotel is in need of an upgrade although clean enough, beds very old and stains on carpets not exactly luxury no bar and lift broken staff friendly though. Needs a bit of tlc a blast from the past although a beautiful building a bit musty smelling inside becAuse of old carpets

The rooms are very cosy for a couple to share. The staff are very keen to help, you easily get your value for money if your on a short trip. It's also very, very easy to locate and in a very central area.

Sometimes looking out of your room window to see a train platform is a little off putting.

This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. It most certainly hasn't been refurbished. The staff member at reception didn't have my booking. They shook their head when I mentioned Booking.com and asked me for proof of booking. They only accepted cash! The only lift in the hotel was broken, my friend has a disability and had to climb stairs. The room was dated, we didn't use the shower as the curtain and bath tiles were needing cleaned. There was no heating in the room, only s small electric.fire which had a terrible smell which we didn't think was safe. My friend, daughter and I had a very unpleasant stay and I'm not impressed with the calibre of hotel you are promoting. I don't know if I could trust your site again. This was a gift to my friend and I was totally embarrassed. I now.believe every comment on Trip Advisor, which I don't normally do.

The lift was out of order. The wi-fi didn't work. We couldn't use a credit card to pay. Only cash. It took ten minutes to get the proper water temperature in the shower.

Locaion and free parking. A comfortable old style hotel.

Our room wasn't serviced during a two day break. There was no refund or compensation, only the promise to discipline the staff involved (no advantage to me !!).

Close to shops an beach an railway

Everything. 13 things broken or not working in the room alone. Staff were not very helpful. Soup pot holding window up. Tv didn't wrk. Toliet lid wouldn't stay up. Alarm clock didn't wrk. Shower curtain digusting. Staff walking into ur room without knocking 1st. Staff walkn in that had no reason to be there. Hairdryer didn't wrk. Bed sheets were dirty. The list is endless with wat was wrong with this hotel. It was a disgrace tht we payed £120 for 2 nights. I would never stay here again. An its a shame because I stayed a few years. Ago an it was great. Big let down this time

Stayed room 105' room door not secure, no lock on toilet door, had to hold shower head to shower, one of the spare pillows in wardrobe was stained, it says on web site there would be iron, but there was none, wanted toast before my cooked breakfast, but bread baskets didn't get filled till our breakfast was finished,needing bigger vacilities as people were having to queue for breakfast, friends we travelled with says there room was worse than mine.

They went out of their way to find us room because booking.com messed up

A wee bit noisy outside at night

One of the beds in my room (No 309) sloped down to the bed next to it, a drop of about 2 inch. Lift was not working, I was on 3rd floor. I could not open the window, it was a warm night.

Clean and comfortable room. Staff nice and friendly. Good location

Breakfast wasnt great but ok. Bar was closed the night we stayed which was a shame.

This hotel is magical, like moving back in time. Very quiet, clean and close to the stores, pubs and there is small walking distance to the shore. I enjoyed my night at Ayr Station Hotel.
