Staff very helpful on what to do and where to go. Breakfast excellent. Whole weekend quite enjoyable.
Although everything was clean and tidy, the staff were very unwelcoming and not at all friendly. We couldn't get the shower to work properly, and the room was quite stuffy.
Location, on site parking
Slow service in the bar
Hotel very clean, staff very helpful and friendly. Stayed b & b, food was excellent.
Bathroom was tiny but we were made aware of this on booking.
We liked the hotels location and the walk into Poole through the park was great.

Great location, good choice and reasonably friendly personal service at breakfast time, this included full cooked breakfast if desired. Shower was good and water hot; room was on the quieter side of the Hotel away from the road; beds were comfortable. Location excellent for road links to beaches or countryside, and was also walking distance through the lovely Poole Park to the old town and restaurants etc on The Quay. Weather was great for the stay, just a little rain at first on the 2nd day but soon replaced by brilliant sunshine.
En suite was a little cramped with scarcely room to dry off after the shower - washbasin was in the way; towels were very small for "bath towels". Price we paid seemed a bit high for what we got, to be quite honest, expected a bit more. Hotel in need of a bit of updating, seems quaintly old fashioned against a Premier Inn or Holiday Inn Express for example - although beds were comfortable and room was clean.
Very comfortable did not need the car walked through the park to the Quay.
Friendly staff and excellent breakfast served promptly and cheerfully. Everything was well looked after and clean. Close to the facilities of Poole Park.
Bathrooms a little dated but nevertheless fully functional. A bit of a distance from the Quay if you don't have a car.
Staff & breakfast
Dated rooms - rather twee!
Friendly, helpful and a very comfy bedroom we had. Everywhere clean. Breakfast excellent and evening meals enjoyable. Fair way to beach though.
The location was good with public transport a few yards away.
Fly cooked in my egg and being served our breakfast before we finished our cearels.
Room was clean.Staff helpful and friendly.Food was excellent.Parking was very good.Location was handy for town centre.Bonus point.Hotel next to a lovely park.
The onsuite was very small. And the shower worked. But we felt it needed to be updated.
The Hotel is a small, traditional English hotel with character. The website gives a very good impression of the establishment, which lived up to our expectations. Its spacious, genteelly grand, public rooms contain an eclectic collection of objects and paintings, which are worth a visit in themselves. It would have been interesting to know more about them, but our stay was brief. We received an attentive personal service from the small team. The full English breakfast was excellent. Our room was private and comfortable, and the facilities, while compact, were quite adequate. We enjoyed our visit and would recommend it for those who do not like the bland uniformity and impersonality of 'branded' hotels. Excellent value, too, although you are expected to settle your bill in advance!
A small gripe was that I had asked for a quiet room with a view. Ours overlooked the starting grid from the A35 traffic lights, so we had to close the windows at nights, which were, consequently, rather stuffy. Poole Park might have given a quieter outlook. However, the hotel was full on this occasion, so it could probably not be helped. The loo and shower would benefit from improved water pressure, but patience is a virtue, so they say. We departed much improved!
The location was good and the breakfast was good also. The staff were friendly and helpful
The bath just had a shower sprayer over but not a proper shower fitted and the water ran hot and cold and was difficult to regulate !
Convenient location to Poole Park and Poole Centre. Great breakfast and beautiful flowers everywhere outside breakfast room. Jack the dog. Feeling of security after-hours with a locked front door which required a code to enter to get back in. Good pubs for late bites nearby.
Poole's water. A complementary bottle or two of water in the room.
We had a superior room with a bay window overlooking the park, it was tastefully furnished and comfortable. Dining room overlooked the patio and was nicely spaced for tables, not on top of each other. Bar and lounge, very comfortable. Staff were very helpful and polite. we will stay here again.
Pleasant hotel situated next to Poole Park. Good breakfast with choice. Nice outside patio area. Ground floor bedrooms and parking.
the hotel is very close to a park for lovely walks, plenty of parking spaces at the hotel and the people who run the hotel are very friendly, we were made very welcome and the breakfast was first class.
1. The staf were friendly & coutreous 2. The location next to Poole Park
1. The service at meal time was painfully slow, a wait of over 40 minutes for the fist course at Dinner cannot be acceptable. 2. The bathroom was far too small & anyone who was sixe 16+ would not have been able to use the W.C.
The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The breakfast service was efficient and the staff friendly. The location for the beach, Bournemouth and Poole is ideal.
Traffic noise at night, however this was with the windows open.
