Very friendly staff and central location

The location. The friendliness of the staff.

Perfect location, immaculate rooms and a friendly team of staff come with a very reasonable price.

The rooms are very close to each other and the poor isolation on the doors does not help to retain the noise within the room. But we were lucky and did not experience any inconvenience due to this.

Very good location- easy to walk to attractions. On a main road with goo transport links, but ouur room seemed tucked out of the way, so there was no traffic noise. We were also down the round from the Playhouse Theatre, where we had booked to attend a show, so this was very convenient. The room had good facilities and a well equipped bathroom and readily replenished tea tray. We were met promptly on check in and the information given to us was clear and precise. A vegetarian breakfast was provided and the room was nocely decorated.

The hotel had lots of stripped floorboard- look lovely, but infortuntaley meant that due to the location of our room in the basement, we were woken early (6am) on a couple of days by people moving around above. I was a little disappointed at breakfast that the toast that I had my poached eggs on seemed to be basic economy sliced white bread. We made sure to get down to breakfast promptly after one day when further top-ups of fresh coffee were refused at 9am (breakfast continued until 9.30am) as coffee pots were empty and we were told that we could only have instant. Unfortunately on the last morning, we requested an early continental breakfast to be left out in order for us to catch our train, but this seemed to be forgotten.

We stayed for three nights in the week following Easter. Queens was a lovely place to stay - spacious, quiet, friendly and very comfortable.The food was delicious, and the location was just right for all the thigns we wanted to do in Edinburgh in four days. Particularly good was the fact that we felt that we were living in an 18th century Town House, in one of the most beautiful cities in the world, and with gardens directly opposite. It was just about perfect!

One of the managers Anna was especially polite and helpful. She even offered to carry our luggages up to our rooms.

The lighting in the room was especially bad. The room was pretty big but had relatively few lamps (no lighting at the dressing table as well). Furthermore, 2 of the lamps in the room and 1 of the lights in the toilet were spoilt. This made reading in our room difficult. Also, the continuous flickering of the spoilt light in the toilet was a constant irritation. One of the breakfast staff was also rather unfriendly. And the poached eggs tended to be overcooked and we had the equivalent of hard boiled eggs in the shape of poached eggs on occasion.

The hotel is very good located, only 10 minutes walk from Waverley Station, the central shops and restaurants. A lovely and comfortable room to rest after the journey around the city. Breakfast is good and served by friendly staff.

Welcoming, very spacious room with generous toiletries, refreshments in the room, good bathroom. breakfast was good and plentiful. the location was excellent.

Ideal place to stay for central Edinburgh, laid-back and comfortable, and good value for money.

An international staff ready to assist and always available. Great hotel for anyone (family, couples, businee traveler) needing to stay in the heart of Edinburgh. The breakfast set in a beautiful dining room is diverse to accommodate everyone and quite delicious. There are several restaurants less than 3 minutes walk. I will stay there again.

The standard of the rooms is very high. Our room was cosy yet spacious and warm. Staff were helpful and pleasant to talk to. Fantastic value for money

The first room we stayed in (room 5) was huge, and beautiful, with original features but it was right next to the entrance and the dining room, so we were woken up at 6am on the first morning as breakfast was being prepared. The staff were very helpful, however, and found us a different room immediately, which was another beautiful, and quiet, room

We had to leave early but were left an excellent continental breakfast. The room was very clean, stylish and comfortable. The location of the hotel is excellent and we were just a 15 minute walk from the Festival Hall. Very impressed.

Nothing, we thought it was excellent and value for money too. Highly recommended

The hotel is very good especially for that price. The rooms are stylish, spacious and clean and have all tea/coffee facilities. Free WiFi works very well. The staff is friendly and helpfull. Location is great. You can get to all famous landmarks in 10-20 minutes walk. Also there are a lot of nice pubs, cafes and shops near the hotel. I'd strongly recommend to stay at this hotel if you go to Edinburgh.
