The rooms were very clean, comfortable and very well appointed to a high, modern and tasteful standard. Plenty of choice at breakfast but unfortunately they were unable to accommodate us for an evening meal. Staff were pleasant and very attentive.

Our room (11) was very poorly laid out. The hospitality tray was as soon as you walked into room, a distance from the bedroom which was down an L shaped corridor and through a heavy fire door...not ideal when carrying hot drinks, this could have been put in the room quite easily. Bathroom was very small and pokey compared to our companions room. Wardrobe, again was not in the bedroom but in the wall where you immediately entered the room...too far from the bedroom to be of practical use.

All the staff were friendly and helpful. The rooms were spotlessly clean and beautifully finished and furnished. The beds were really comfortable with lovely soft pillows.

Hawkshead is a loverly village and the Queens Head is right at the centre. Stayed in the family room (103 I think) with 2 young children and it was perfect

Maybe some more choice with continental breakfast, so things like muffins and croissants. Other than that everything was great

Food and pub Tastefully decorated room

The wardrobe was back-to-back to the next room with seemingly very thin board. Every time the guests next door opened their wardrobe, I thought somebody was in our room!

The location. The hotel is on the whole good but not worth the price charged.

Breakfast not 4* tasteless butter, tasteless jam, no sugar for cereal?constantly needing to request items/extras. Limited fresh fruit available and a communal pot of yoghurt. Rooms trendy but not functional...bed too firm pillows cheapest of the cheap - awful nights sleep - toilet roll holder broken, shower barely a trickle, nowhere to store toiletries. Mirror too high to dry hair from seated. Room 7 constant noise from fan, kitchens and chefs smoking/chatting outside your window. Noise from outside door/fire exit late at night. Not representing value for money!

We stayed for 4 nights and ate in the restaurant for 3 of them. A testimony to how good the food was. The room was really comfortable and attractive with plenty of space. The food for breakfast was excellent - nice to see something other than a full english offered and the Buck's Fizz was a nice touch. Great location for exploring the lakes. Friendly staff.

Wifi didn't reach our room (11) which was a little frustrating, but it was available elsewhere in the hotel and bar. It was very busy at times which could affect service in the restaurant.

    1. Staff 2. Hawkshead

    1. Location of car Park 2. The location of our first room (we asked to be moved) was subject to excessive noise of kitchen ventilation. The second room was better, but not much. Hot weather and closed windows? At one point a guy washing, what looked like vegetables, in a machine was yet another uncomfortable time. I would also mention that in both rooms the toilet seat was free to move sideways some 50 to 70mm. The shower floor in the first room was perfectly flat which became very slippery with soap: there was no grab handle. In the second shower a perfectly good floor but the doors did not totally meet hence on a bad day the bathroom floor got a little wet. 3. In the evening the restaurant became uncomfortably noisy and uncomfortably hot.

Great location for walking and not as busy as other areas in the Lakes. Lovely food of a high standard and rooms tastefully decorated.

Nice and friendly hotel in a little village in the middle of Lake District. Excellent food, beautiful rooms. The whole staff seems to really love their job.

WiFi is working only in the reception area and restaurant, not in the rooms.
