The Staff were friendly, the room size was adequate if not slightly generous. I think the breakfast was quite good considering it comes with the room price and the parking pass was moderately priced.
Floorboards broken all over the hotel, the lift door closes ON you. The towels are hard and sandpaper like. The mattresses were like 90 year old sponges - padded, no support, just awful. Outside the window (with a lovely view of a wall) was no concern given to soundproofing from the bar below, or the air flow heating system things. The worst part was being walked in on by room service who don't bother to knock - there's no door handle hangers for do not disturb - and they didn't leave right away. Ordered food the first night after a long journey - and only got half of it because they didnt know their own menu! Far too expensive for the 1960's decor of rooms... and beds which are probably that old - the furniture definitely was - it's a place that needs a lot of updating, or just refreshing because it doesn't really need to be modern - it suits the faux-grand look of the ground floor... but it's a shame that the rest of the place is so terrible.
For my wife and I, the bed was the most comfortable in our week around the Lake District. The location was very central in Keswick and the bar area was good. For the money, it was OK value but we won't come back here.
Our daughter's single room was poor and the curtains did not cover the window, so she could not sleep well. The overall decor was faded and the hotel needs re-furbishing. There were shared public toilets at the time, which was gross! Breakfast was disappointing and not up to the usual Lakes standard. The central location, though handy for shops and restaurants, was very noisy from early morning.
The location of the hotel was lovely lots of things to do and see. The residents werw lovely.
The room, the bathroom, the organisation of parking and the price we paid for the everything.
location, accepted pets
main menu very poor wifi
Staff were very helpful and friendly. Room was comfortable. Breakfast good with very good service. The hotel is a little dated but this did not matter as we had a lovely stay and would stay again.
Staff not very friendly or professional.
Great views of mountains from room 117 , comfortable bed and lovely hot shower.friendly staff and a great choice for breakfast.
It was just a really good relaxing stay
The only thing I would change would be the breakfast, instead of one bacon and one sausage it's should be two. Plus the breakfast menu shows mushrooms with the breakfast but on both mornings my mushrooms were not served with my breakfast.
Lovely front room. Lovely comfortable bed. Location amazing
Nothing we regularly use this hotel
Great location in center of Keswick. Friendly staff.
Noisy.place needs to be refurbished.
The hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful. Bed was very comfy and the room was very clean. Ate in the hotel at night and the food was superb.
Very difficult to get Wi-Fi access on laptop but a lot easier on mobile phone
excellent and very friendly personal. Warm welcome .Helpful young Ladies and Gentlemen. I would like to thank very much for lovely hospitality . Kind Regards P.Vuchev
Very good food & Bar, excellent location, great view of skiddow from bedroom window. very easy check in and out. car parking sticker for main car park 70mtrs away.
Broken Toilet roll holder in Bathroom. Musty smell in wardrobe, (I suggested air freshener to go in wardrobe. staff advised me that rooms having makeover in 8 weeks, not an excuse for leaving it in that condition)
Good staff and great location.
Sound travels through the rooms.
Handy for town and parking available
Decoration needs updating
Central to the town and it's character, the Queens hotel feels like belonging in Keswick.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Very central location.
Say no to room 108. Tired part of hotel. Looks out over flat roof and fire exit. Could not open window due to security issues. Ensuite so small and badly designed there was nowhere for toiletry bag except floor and towels had to stay in bedroom.
Staff very friendly and accommodating
Leaky toilet cistern in room 205 spoiled a good nights sleep. Out for the evening and didn't realise about cistern till after 11 when no staff to fix problem
The room was comfortable and all requirements met.
The service at breakfast was extremly slow waiting over half an hour for the cooked breakfast even though there were only two other tables occupied at 7:30am
View was terrible, overlooking dirty roof Room small but adequate No shelves to put anything in bathroom Bathroom very small if your on the larger size no good at all
Ideal location in centre of keswick Staff friendly and helpful Good variety at breakfast.
Very tired looking rooms, bath/shower control didn't work properly, arial connector had loose wires and affected TV reception.
Really comfy beds
Room not cleaned properly, previous occupants dirty cups still in room, bin not emptied, no glasses for water, light not working above sink, no heating - quite cold!
Beds really comfortable
Room had not been cleaned properly previous occupants dirty cups and bin not emptied, no light above sink, no heating at all - over priced for a supposed "superior double" room
