Room ready after had booked 20mins before, restaurant meal was very good, its a lovely old building with lots of interesting rooms to sit in, comfy beds. Staff were very nice and welcoming Need more plugs only one to share! The bacon tasted of steak! Maybe should use a different grill in the morning! Tv was small and we had to retune it to get some free to view channels.

Lovely old building. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Bedroom was nicely furnished and very comfortable. Some of the decor e.g. in the dining room was very dated and not in keeping with the style of the original building.Constant humming noise throughout the night from heating (or something) and another guest with TV on 'til 3.45a.m. - not conducive to sleep! Hotel quite isolated from the town.

Staff were friendly and when we asked for rooms with a bath we were immediately moved. Bar food menu ok and good breakfast. Check in and check out was made easy by helpful staff. This hotel is dated and was freezing. It took over 30 minutes to run half a bath. Getting out of bed as like getting into an ice box in the morning. I had invited guests to join me for a meal only to find that the restaurant was not open and that the only menu available was bar food.

It is well located near a motorway junction on the M74, so it is a good place to break a long journey. It is extremely easy to find when travelling north. The staff are friendly and the menu choice is reasonable. You can sometimes hear traffic on the M74

The staff, especially Christina were friendly and helpful. The food in the bar was very good,as was breakfast, booking in and out was quick and easy. The hotel was easy to access from the motorway as we booked this as an overnight stop over on our way to the Highlands of Scotland. The reception area was a bit tired and dated

This hotel was used as an overnight stay as my husband was cycling to John O' Groats. He arrived soaked to the skin. The receptionist (to my shame I cannot remember her name) was so helpful in organising the drying of all his wet clothes etc so that they were ready for him the next day (he left at 6 a.m.) and her sense of humour was wonderful. All staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. A very enjoyable (short) stay and if anybody is coming up to Lockerbie I would recommend this hotel to them.

Good service Good food Our single night stay at the hotel was fine other than the location problem of our twin room (No 12) which was situated directly above the hotel boiler room. With the window of the room closed the temperature in the room became unbearable well into the nineties due to boiler being directly below. If the window was opened to loose the heat the constant operational noise from the boiler and to a lesser extent the noise from the passing traffic was a real problem. We advised the staff of the situation when we checked out.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful. Particularly Christina. The help and support accommodating the kids (3 under 5) was much appreciated. I thought the quality of the cooked breakfast was poor.
