The hotel was nice and warm, welcoming and friendly. The staff were really good. The evening meal was fine and the restaurant was comfy. There is a nice big comfortable lounge with a great big tele in it. My room was OK with en suite shower. Breakfast was very nice all that you could wish.
I was booked into The Queens Lodge Hotel, and received an email from The Kingsway Hotel to confirm card details. I also phoned The Kingsway on the same subject. I followed my sat nav to The Queens and my little flag disappeared but no Queens. The street lighting is very poor and I spent twenty minutes looking for it going door to door reading the signs up close until I finally found it. I was just able to read the laminated sign which directed me to Kingsway Hotel. The Queens is closed for winter. Why was I not told at time of booking? When I checked in I was offered a free upgrade from a double room to a single room! I thought I had booked breakfast but that was extra.
I got an upgrade to the Townhouse annexe. The bedroom had a sense of classic English style: full-length bath and heated towel rail; quality thick-pile carpet. In the main hotel, the restaurant has original, contemporary decor and a great sea view.
I enjoy ground coffee with my breakfast. I hope you'll get the filter machine working again!
Very nice young receptionist girl
We didn't like it anything about it
You get what you pay for
The room was very basic not what I'm use to. nothing stated that I was sharing shower and toilet facilities. The hall needed decorating, the worse thing was that my door was tried in the early hours and I would not recommend it too a single women travelling on her own.
I had read other reviws afterv I had booked this, most of which were not encouraging. however I found my room clean and comfortable and the bathroom , though not ensuite was fine . Shower could have been more powerful , but nothing really to complain about.for £40 pounds I found it reasonable value .Close to marine parade and high streeet and restaurants .
The location across from the sea was wonderful, for us.The room was spotless, if a little small but unfortunately we were only there for the night,so it was perfectly adequate. The breakfast was very good and plenty of it.The place would benefit from refurbish.S.Castle.
There was nothing to dislike about the place. For the price it was great value for money. Stephanie Castle.Brighouse. West Yorks.
Not much to like about this, unless you count being close to Worthing seafront and buses. It is not a Guest House, it is an annexe to the Kingsway Hotel across the road and round the corner. Bed was clean and comfortable, that's about all the positive side.
Felt very isolated, as I seemed to be the only visitor in this large, old, dimly lit house. Returning after dark, no lights on. I had to find the switches. No phone contact with reception. In the room, no bedside or bedhead lamp, the main light too dim to read by. No guest folder or feedback/room report form. I could go on... I know it was cheap, but it should have equal facilities to the main hotel where you check in and pay, it is not a separate concern.
Correct booking error at short notice,I think Booking.com issue wrong dates for my travel, fair bit of off street car parking for a very busy weekend, extra early Breakfast because of Goodwood Revival race meeting,
On arrival found we had to report to Kingsway Hotel & this Guest House was part of the hotel setup and NOT a self-contained unit. Exterior in poor condition, curtain hanging off track, toilet fan screeched, bed frame had bolt missing on leg and secured with gaffer tape, room and waste bin not cleaned, only one bedside table and lamp for a DOUBLE bed! When reported to reception on departure I was told that I should have reported these points - I expect management to inspect rooms and ensure in proper order. £65 per night for such an attitude is NOT acceptable.
It felt like I was staying in a hostel I didn't feel safe in my room travelling as a young woman it is over priced and u don't even get breakfast within that price
Near the town centre. Good bathroom and shower.
It was really an annex of the Kingsway hotel and it was rather like letting yourself into an empty house. The big old television didn't work. The hall could use some renovation.
Clean towels and bedding.
Shower not clean, a bit tight on the tea and coffee in the room 1 tea bag and 1 coffee. TV didn't work
Bedding was clean and I got a decent sleep. Shower worked better than most better guest houses.
General delapidation and off smell. Stained carpets in room. Cracked toilet seat (shortage of loo roll) in shared bathroom facility, unsafe electrical sockets. No alternative fire escape other than the way in.
The SUPER FRIENDLY STAFF at Kingsway hotel
No night lamp :-((
The location was quite good.
No Wi-Fi in rooms. Had to go to Hotel across the road to get any service. No hairdryer in room. Minimal tea/coffee/sugar and on requesting more was told it would be chargeable! All parking spaces were taken so had to find a space elsewhere.
smelly no internet no ensuite facilities television did not work lighting in room poor
not enough parking for the number of hotels owned..We had to parkin the street some way from your hotel .WE were informed when we found that we were unable to park THAT parking was on a first come first served basis..Had we been told this when we were booking this room then we would have looked elsewhere. Sorry I cannot recommend your guest house.
It was very clean and nice to be independent of the main hotel. staff friendly good value for money
no parking no ensuite someone left both front doors open so had to shut them.
Value for money and good location
Location and room quality relative to the price.
Lack of on site parking - although alternative was OK.
basic and clean, you get what you pay for.
parking a lottery
Location was ok
Dirty room walls rusty where sprinkler gone off at some point carpet not nice blinds let in light work men peering thro to hot no fan very noisy
Room was a good size, bed linen and towels were clean. Comfortable bed. Ironing board and iron was useful.
Entrance to the property is unappealing with unopened mail in the porch area and unpleasant smell when you entered the property. As there are no staff in attendance it feels more like student accomodation rather than part of a hotel. The tv didn't work. My room was overlooked by builders next door who could see directly into my room so curtains had to be closed at all times despite high temperatures. Overall feeling of entrance and hallways was that it wasn't very clean and had not had attention for a long time.
I was a solo traveller but I was given a double-bedded room which was huge. There was a bay window and from the left side you had a sea-view. There was a shower and toilet with a wash-basin for my own use. It was allocated on the first floor and the windows were wide open which was brilliant for me. It was very quiet and it was really only the sea-gulls that made a lot of noise. A stone's throw to the beach and a nice walk along the promenade to the pier and the town centre is also withing walking distance.
I didn't have breakfast because I thought it was expensive at £10.00, but I'm sure it was very good.
