That the lodge was attached to a hotel and when I complained they moved me into the main hotel. The room was cold. The bedding smelt musty. The television and kettle were broken. There was a smell in the hallway. The spare blanket was old and had no warmth in it.

I choose this hotel because of its value per night and its location as I was relocating to the area. My room was directly above the main door and people liked letting the front door bang. Maybe a spring on the door may help close it more smoothly. If the main Kingsway Hotel has a lot of guests you end up parking your car somewhere else. I stayed ten nights and one night the main hotel was busy so my car was parked somewhere else.

Convenient for what we wanted and obliging because we needed to have access to room earlier than would normally be expected. For room only I found cost expensive and coupled with curtains not being hung properly, curtain pull cords broken, windows that could not be closed, windows dirty on inside, and mildew marks inside and outside of the shower, bits of 'fluff' on floor in en suite - cleaning standards could have been better.

Nothing! Checked in on Tuesday had to request the room be cleaned. Same again on the Friday. They then wanted to charge extra because I left an hour after 11am. TV didn't work very well kept losing the signal. Shaver light not working. No bedside cabinets. Only booked in the second time because everything was booked. Would neve go there again.

Not a lot..... The horrible smell as soon as you walked through the front door. No hair dryer. Windows left wide open on a wet & windy day to try to get rid of the smell of damp & security a bit lapse as cleaner left windows open while we were out for the day.

Conveniently located and fairly nicely presented, the other guests were fairly quiet. I liked the in-room tea and coffee facility and that the room I had included a sink. My daughter was a single occupant in a twin room at the top of the lodge - this was a nice light and airy room and her TV worked too. My room had a large crack in one corner with ripped wallpaper and the TV did not seem to work (at least I could not get it to). The showers were a little Utilitarian and at least one facility was 'out of order'. Luckily their did not seem to be a full number of potential residents so this was not an actual problem.

Damp walls in the room, no heating, poor bedding, only 1 top-sheet, sparse tea/coffee/milk facilities. Staff not aware or familiar with the room. Staff member suggested he lent me a portable heater for the night, but unable to find one or suggest an answer to the problem, gave me 4 small milks and a packet of soggy biscuits.

Mild smell but otherwise adequate for our overnight stay. Due to the unseasonal weather we could have done with warmer bedding.

We were very disappointed with our stay on the night of Friday 22nd June. On entering the hotel there was a very strong smell of stale cigarettes. Mrs Bigford's room also smelt very stongly of cigarettes (even though there was a notice about no smoking), she had to keep the window open all night in order to try to get rid of the smell, she could'nt use the blanket in the room because it was dirty so she put her fleece on, but was unable to sleep and spent the night watching the tv in a chair. There was no shower/wc in her room and the shower room down the corridor was dirty and cracked. The rooms were dirty, no glasses to have a drink of water, you could'nt hang anything up in the wardrobe of our room because the door caught on the drawer underneath, no telephone, the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor and there were not enough pillows. I cannot believe the state of the hotel. We all got the distinct impression the hotel was unkempt and most unwelcoming. My sister in law paid for both rooms on her credit card and I can't help but feel she has been grossly overcharged. I will be contacting the tourist board (both local and English) to request they investigate the conditions of the hotel.

Location was suitable for a visit to the concert As I walked in The hallway smelt similar to that of a probation hostel, so much so that I was concerned for myself and my four year old son. The smell of stale dirt did not dimish and even now I am convinced that the rooms must be offered out to To DSS clients. Although the price was budget the accomodation looked unkempt and uncared for. Low value was reflected.
