Liked how close we were to the shops and Harbour. Lovely pub downstairs.
We arrived a little early to the hotel. We had travelled 3 hours to get to St Ives and I was unwell with a chest infection. We were hoping that we would be able to check in early as most places we have ever stayed have always allowed us to do this and I wanted to put my head down for a bit as I felt very unwell. The female behind the bar was extremely abrupt and had a Vile attitude. She snapped that it was 3 o'clock check in. We went off out for a bit and arrived back about 2:15 and thought we would just double check to see if the room was available. We were snapped at again with. "I told you it was 3 o'clock" Whilst we were getting a drink at the Bar we witnessed the same lady being told by another customer that they were not impressed with her attitude. The room was very small and noisy at night. Was not with the £90 we paid for 1 nights stay.
friendly efficient staff , very good breakfast and food , lovely bar
parking difficult to get near at busy times
Excellent location, close to harbour and shops. Good breakfast. Excellent menu choice. Friendly service. Recommended. Would stay here again. Car parking directions and map given, certainly tests your driving skills round the town, could stop outside and load and unload luggage. Facilities in room inc tea and coffee.
Poorly lit stairwell mainly due to very dark decor and carpets. Bathroom tired looking although it served its purpose.
Location was good bed was comfortable. 24 hour access was helpful.
Room was on fourth floor which was a hike! Bathroom could have been cleaner and one of the lights didn't work.
Friendly staff. Great service. Coming back to a warm room every day. Comfy bed. Hot shower. Excellent breakfast with good choice. Also ate an evening meal there which was just as superb as the breakfast. Central location. Short walk from station. Really good value for a last minute booking. Thoroughly enjoyed my three nights there.
No faults whatsoever.
Great location in the centre of St Ives. Nice rooms.
Light in side entrance is temperamental. Failed to come on a few times.
We loved the ambiance of the pub downstairs both for breakfast when we had it to ourselves and in the evening when the place was lively. We were upstairs so didn't have any pub noise but some noise from the streets did rise up to our rooms. The bathroom was very clean and the bed and linens very comfortable. The location in the heart of St Ives can't bed beat.
We didn't mind but the parking at the railway station could be a bit of a problem as it required dropping off bags then going to park and walking back. Could be a problem during peak season when I'm sure it's difficult to drive around town.
Breakfast was good and cooked fresh to order. The hotel was very quiet, despite being on the main road.
Our room was a bit small and we found the room too hot, with no way of regulating the temperature ourselves.
Pretty much everything
A couple of things we would of preferred, well one really. We found the toast very hard, (I guess it was the type of bread used) although it was cooked nicely. Butter portions were a little small, however on asking for more it was provided
location nice room comfortable bed
breakfast over cooked no cooked food on a Monday night
Friendly Staff Good Breakfast Comfy Bed and nice linen Free Wi-Fi Great value for money rather than staying at a chain motel much more character
Bathroom just a little too "budget" but nice and clean
atomospher of the pub.
Restaurant with interesting menu Cosy atmosphere Friendly staff Central location a short walk from railway station Clean pressed bed linen
Location very central. Bed too soft.
Breakfast just OK could have had more.
Good breakfast, comfortable rooms.
homeless sleeping in doorway opposite still there 9am following morning!
Not having the room I was promised.
Wonderful comfortable bed and bed linen. Excellent breakfast, nicely cooked and presented, with healthy options.
Gruesome hallway and stairs, decorated in a hideous dark green and gray with no natural light. Terrible first impression as showed to your room.
The room was an attic conversion. Very light, airy with subtle décor. The room was clean & tidy. The shower or should I say power shower was excellent. The breakfast was locally sourced and also very good & tasty. The staff were pleasant and happy to help with any query or problem. We will hopefully stay here again
The entrance/exit into the hotel if the main door was locked.
The Queens Hotel is an absolute gem. From start to finish, the whole experience was memorable. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive and the food first-class. Sunday lunch was the best ever! The location of the hotel (at most, a two or three minute walk from the harbour) is unrivalled by the majority of others. The Queens can't be described as posh (and don't think it would want to be) but for two teachers from 'up-north' after a long half-term, there couldn't have been a better choice. Before travelling, it was a concern that there were no car-parking facilities at the hotel. However, we had no problem parking at the railway station, which is a ten minute walk away. God-willing, we'll be guests there on many occasions in the future.
Excellent location, heritage building, characterful pub/ reception, hearty breakfast, room compact but well appointed, windows soundproofed, friendly staff
Rather dingy stairway and landing area, in process of renovation?
Love St Ives and the Queens is a great base. Friendly and comfortable, great staff, super breakfast and nice rooms. Have stayed before and will return.
Staff tried to accommodate an earlier breakast (cereal in my room)
Breakfast wasn't until 8:30 which was too late for me as I was there for work.
We enjoyed our stay at the Queen's Hotel which is, however, not a hotel but a pub with rooms. That suited us, the staff are very friendly and made us feel at home. We like being in the centre of a town, and all the places we wanted to visit in St Ives were in easy walking distance.
It's not a big thing, but the staircase and corridors leading to the rooms probably could do with a lick of paint.
