We stayed at the hotel on the 17th of April 1993 after our wedding reception, it was lovely to come back and visit the hotel again. We had a very comfortable stay at the hotel, breakfast was lovely and hot. atmosphere in the hotel was good. Excellent location. Would come back and stay without a doubt.
Location is excellent, in the heart of the city, close to all amenties. Room was adequate with well decorated bathroom
Older building so creaky floors and poor sound-proofing. The older sash windows very poor at excluding wind noise. Heating set too high. General decoration needs a refresh.
The hotel was in a great location, right around from the train station and right opposite good pubs and bars. It was in walking distance of everywhere. Would definately stay there again 10 out of 10.
Location was good. Staff were friendly & professional. Breakfast was nice. Beautiful old building. Great value for money.
It was a bit dated & it would be lovely to see it reverted to all it's glory but I appreciate that would be an expensive task. Could have done with a thicker duvet & more towels in the room but I dare say if I was that bothered I would have asked.
The bedroom is very equipped tea /coffee etc iron & board hairdryer plenty towels The breakfast is fantastic anything you want It's also very central for shops ,pubs
Excellent position for shopping, restaurants and nightlife. Hotel was clean, staff were friendly. Good breakfast.
Room was a bit smaller than it would suggest online at time of booking.
Convenient location, size of rooms, overall ambiance of the Victorian style building and morning breakfast.
I didn't like that room windows could not be opened at all. There must have been an option to open the window a bit, even couple of inches would serve the purpose if someone wants to inhale fresh air. I sometimes felt suffocation in the room.
The location to the rail station.
Good central location in Dundee
Cleanliness of room/en-suite could be improved. Dust on bedroom side cabinets and on top of toilet roll holder in en-suite. Reception staff member welcome very poor, not advised of meal times or breakfast times. Wi-fi signal kept coming and going in the room.
Central to shops and to amenities.room was warm, cosy and comfortable.we had a good view of the Tay bridge.
Creaky floorboards in room.
Buffet breakfast was only luke warm
good location for university.
the decor and carpets dated. room was a little cold - no extra blankets without ringing reception. When i did ring they did arrive promptly however with duvets - without any covers on them! The breakfast was just adequate.
Excellent location, free Wi-Fi, comfortable bed, nice breakfast.
My android phone couldn't connect to the WiFi (but this is a longstanding android issue, and is not the hotel's fault). My iPad connected easily.
The condition of the hotel generally.
Listening to backbiting staff.
too hot good complaint but great for some people
most of dundees attractions/bars/resaurants on the doorstep. very good breakfast. quiet and comfortable
late check in - minor irritation
Price Location View of River Breakfast. We were at the Rep which was across the road, as was the pubs, cafes and city centre shops. It was quiet considering its location.
A bit dated but can't complain for the price and location.
The height and size of the room, the very friendly staff.and perfect location to get into town and cairn hall for my daughters graduation ceremony.
The locality to were we wanted to be
Breakfast was a bit poor
Great location. Love Dundee.
The hotel was as I remembered as a child growing up in Dundee. We loved the stair well. The hotel was comfortable and reception and ancillary staff personable.
The Btstro is poor and the meals only mediocre. Meals which set there prices at bistro rates were not good. my meal of pollock was dry,uni9nspiring with mushy peas which had probably bee standing for hours. The chips also were dry. I was not impressed. My wife ordered for one breakfast, poaced eggs whice resembled hard boiled eggs. The chef needs to get a grip and not be complacent.
central location was excellent for all shops restuarants etc. staff were really friendly and very helpful. well worth another stay.
everything fabby so no dislikes from me.
Freshly cooked breakfast
Great location for station and city centre while being reasonably far enough to be fairly quite
I think staff and facilities were a bit over stretched, possibly because of a big wedding party
