I liked the friendly staff, my room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was good.
Climbing the stairs!
The lift didn't work so we had to take a different room and there was a smoking area outside the window
Friendliness of staff
overall shabbiness of rooms
The room was clean with fresh towels and supplies for making coffee, tea and hot chocolate. It had amazing sea views. Staff were friendly and helpful where needed. Breakfast was well prepared with a choice of full english, toast or cereal, coffee, tea or juice. Even though its situated at the far end of the promenade its only a 5 minute walk to town. Great area, great views. Overall its a lovely hotel with great views ans everything is within walking distance.
The stairs up to the room can be hard going with heavy luggage but that's only a problem when the lift available is out of order. It is at the far end of the promenade away from shops and amusement but that gets counteracted by the fact you can take a nice relaxing stroll across the promenade to get to any shops or amusements. Overall I cant reallly say anything bad about it.
Everything was exellent the staff were good and the breakfast was exellent would certainly stay again
Can't fault anything
Friendly staff (Sharon)
Most poor hotel on the prom.
Location Cleanliness Staff approachability and helpfulness Large choice of food at breakfast
Cramnped ensuite Intermittent shower Plastic brown bread toast Stngy second helping of toast Fire door blocked by bed - this is a big no no in my view Tepid cooked food at breakfast (placing loads of cooked food at 8.00 am under meagre heat lamps buffet style does not keep the food hot!!) heat
Watching the tide go and come in through my room window and the lapping of the sea.
Beautiful location on the promenade, close to many places to eat. Nice room well fitted out. Very interesting town, much larger than we expected. Filling breakfast again (I am going to have to go on a diet after all these " traditional Welsh/English breakfasts"). Highly recommended. A hotel several doors down had Leffe Blonde on tap- beautiful.
We where on the third floor and the lift unfortunately was out of use waiting on replacement parts. This meant about five flights of steps and several "fireproof doors" to negotiate. These things happen.
Staff were friendly and helpful
Cramped room, door falling off to en suite, my husband was constantly having to put in back on the runners. presentation for breakfast was poor ( dishes stacked on top and you could not get at food underneath as they were hot) although the food was nice
The cleanliness of the room and bathroom was the only good point.
The hotel was well overpriced. Our room (luckily), was on the first floor. I use a walking stick and found going upstairs awkward. The lift there doesn't work. But the worst experience was breakfast. You have to go down a steep flight of dingy stairs to the windowless dining room. The wallpaper was loose where we sat. The food comprised of undercooked eggs (I mean even the white was runny), the hash browns were soggyish, the sausages were awful. The bacon was ok but the tomatoes tasted funny......all in all yuk! Then to tackle the stairs to get back up to the ground floor was painful for me. I would NOT recommend this hotel to anyone.....especially if you are disabled or have walking difficulties. Won't be staying there again. Wendy. S. Wales
Location, Breakfast My quiet comfortable room at back in the converted garage
Lift not working. Small lounge and never found the bar open. Unpleasant dispute over a friend's confirmed cancellation ,due illness, between another friend and owner/manage
Comfortable, clean room with plenty of tea and coffee. Lovely breakfast and helpful staff.
The room we were in was a little dated but had everything we needed.
The view from the window is amazing and there was plenty of tea, coffee and biscuits, plus the location is central enough to keep popping back when we liked to just sit and relax with a drink. Breakfast is plentiful and nicely prepared. The room was spotless, spacious and comfortable
I was glad the parking attendants were lenient - we were never given a ticket, although finding a parking place is tight at times
Breakfast was great, choice and quantity and quality.
Nothing, all good quality.
The breakfast was excellent with plenty to choose from.
As a hotel we were expecting a dining room which offered evening dinner and a bar. Neither existed, so this really should be called a bed and breakfast, not a hotel. The rooms were all tiny (4 rooms for our party) and the triple room was actually a converted garage at the rear of the hotel!
View,breakfast staff and the breakfast
Being charged for the dogs when the conditions of booking say maybe charged.
Great location on the promenade, perfect if you want to do a walk along the coastal path as well. Breakfast was more than enough! Staff really helpful.
Pity the bar wasn't open during our stay but plenty of places close by.
The sea view room.
We were at the top with no lift, I am 68 yeras old had two hip ops and a heart bypass, it was hard going
Location overlooking the sea
Lift had been out of order for at least 2 months. Dark staircase, narrow tread stairs, very heavy fire doors and it was difficult carrying luggage up 4 floors (80 stairs)
Area plus rooms were clean and fairly modern breakfast was great.
Nothing all good.
Amazing location, nice and helpfull staff.
location is good the breakfast was very good and plentiful
windows in our room could not be opened because they have been painted closed. There was no emergency route map in the room so we had no idea of how to get out in the case of a fire.
Staff were very friendly and efficient. Very tasty breakfast buffet!
Our en-suite double room, up on the fourth floor, was very small. We could see that room sizes varied enormously and it would be fair if this was reflected in the price
