David,
Broadstairs
This 17th-century coaching inn is located on Ashby's main high street. Family run, it offers a bar and a lively weekend nightclub. The Queen's Head Hotel is close to all the main local motorways, and a short journey from Birmingham and East Midlands Airport. An intimate front bar is open until either 22:30 (Sunday to Wednesday), 23:30 (Thursday) or 01:00 (Friday and Saturday). On Fridays and Saturdays, the hotel features Ciros Night Club, the VIP rooms and Studio 79 (open till 02:00) and The Loft Bar (open till 01:00). It's popular and so a bit noisy. The hotel also features a large outside smoking area. Hotel Rooms: 14

Good value, friendly staff. Great central location in the centre of Ashby high street. This is an unpretentious English pub, busy and noisy in the evenings. We had a room on the top floor, which was quiet despite the Christmas parties going on downstairs. Comfortable beds. The room was warm despite freezing temperatures outside. Coded security doors are a bit of a nuisance. No designated car parking, though there is plenty of public parking nearby.

Friendly staff, clean pleasent room with nice tv, Pub, Bar and Club to hand. Young upbeat area. Relaxed attitude to us coming in very late/early hours of the morning. Every thing was fab apart from one thing. We booked a room for a spot of sleep after a big clubbing event that went on till 5am. When we got in the beds were warm and comfortable. But the dawn had closely followed us and the sun blazed through the nice cream cirtains making sleep totally impossable! I love a sunny day but I also like black out lining on my curtains :)

Clean, tidy, but small Stayed during the week, quiet enough. For weekend stays - there is a Dico/Club on the 1st floor. Will use this one again.

The room was booked as a ensuite but the toilet was down the hall. For £58 per room it should have been around the £35 per room price. The parking was a nightmare to get to as well. Would not stay there again.

Breakfast and breakfast room was nice with a view over Market Street. Can make excellent poached eggs which are harder than you think to get right. Room was clean and beds made nicely. Staff were nice and helpful. Heater available in the room if you felt chilly. Good choice of pubs very close by. Nice area. Booked en-suite but on arrival staff advised I had not and advised it would cost extra, after a little insistance I got en-suite for the price I originally paid and on checking the hotel's booking form given to me by the staff it still seemed to be booked as en-suite. The bathroom window felt a little see-through and made me feel uneasy and the shower head was spraying all over the place as it needed fixed or replaced although the shower was still okay and the water hot. Asked for Wi-fi but staff advised it was not available.

Good location, clean rooms and comfortable beds.Barmaid who welcomed us did her best to smooth over the muddle regarding our booking. Confusion with booking arrangements despite my phone call to confirm.Very shabby communal areas and no outside area. Old wooden building with single narrow staircase and poorly signed or described escape route in the event of fire.

Central location Expected noise from nightclub but didn't realise how loud. I could feel the vibrations when in the bed.

I liked the location and the price, friendly staff. Club downstairs but I was told about it so it's not as if I didn't know about it.

Central location in Ashby. Breakfast was very good and inexpensive. Friendly staff. Tiny TV, electric shower with low pressure, beds not too comfortable. Thin walls.
